Can't recommend Ted and 502 Construction enough!…read more In fact, I have given his info to two people so far and will likely be sharing it even more in the future. I reached out to 502 Construction via Yelp, and Ted, the owner, responded directly to me and came out to look at our issue firsthand before giving us a quote. It meant so much to be able to talk to him about this from the start. The stone facade on a back wall in our garden had fallen off, due to water getting behind the stone and freezing. We also wanted to add a brick topper to that wall, to match the wall on the other side of our back yard, and we wanted a metal railing added to the length to prevent anyone from falling off the side of the wall, which abuts our parking pad. Ted's bid was fair, and when he started the work, he was at our house everyday (excluding a couple of days due to bad weather) until it was complete. He was communicative and receptive throughout. And his work more than met our expectations. He had to individually measure and cut maybe 100 bricks so that the topper would work with the incline of the wall. He went a couple of places to find brick that would match brick we already had at our house, and he cut and welded the railing on site. We still need to paint the railing, but it is night and day better compared to what it was. (I will be sure to add before-and-after photos once it is 100% complete.) Ted is going on our list of contractors to have handy and to recommend to all who will listen.

Responded well, a rep. Came to the location and provided a quick quote for the job to be done.read more

We had a large branch come down and rip out the electrical conduit from our brick wall on our house…read moreand called Stephen over at Brick and Stone Masonry and we are very glad that we did. Stephen was very prompt and professional in responding to my calls and messages and offered me a competitive quote that he thought would be a week long repair job. His crew had our brick wall repaired in 2 days and were able to salvage almost all of the old/existing brick which we were very appreciative of. Stephen was one of the only masons in town who was willing to clean and reuse the old brick so it looked as if it had never been repaired. He offered me some tips and advice for how long to wait and let the brick dry before putting screws into it and came out to the house after the job was done and inspected his crews work. He even offered to have them come back and clean up a few areas that still had some remaining mortar. I would highly recommend Brick and Stone Masonry for all of your masonry needs - thank you again for everything!

Not a reputable company. Asked to come by and give an estimate to fix a walkway and a porch…read more Came by. Looked at work. Didn't respond after. Was a referral from my landscaping guy. The company never responded to the requested estimates and ghosted the landscaping company and myself. Take these people with a grain of salt. Times are tough right now and finding good people is hard -- I get that. But just not answering after an estimate isn't something that you would want to go through.

If the pandemic and working from home have you feelin' some type of way, might I suggest gardening?…read more Hear me out. Plants are like children that can't yell or throw things at you AND they provide you with edible sustenance. Tending a garden carries all the joys of parenting minus the snot and poo diapers. I call that a win. If you feel convinced to take up gardening, look no further than Earth First for all your soil needs. I highly recommend using compost to fill a raised garden bed (and mix in a couple bags of Miracle Gro while you're at it). One scoop of compost from Earth First is $16. So. Cheap. You will need a trailer or a truck bed for the compost to be scooped into so begin complimenting your friends with said trailer/truck now to hopefully utilize their services if you don't already have one. If you're only getting compost, you don't need to go onto the scales first. Simply drive in (carefully!) and wait for a person on a loader to pull up next to you. Be prepared to yell a little because those machines are loud. Tell the driver what you want and how much (half a scoop, one scoop, etc). Then sit back and wait for them to load up and dump the compost on your trailer/truck bed. It's kind of an honors system, but you pay at the far left window on the white building. They take cash or credit. If you want rock or mulch, of which there are a million options, you do need to weigh your truck/trailer first and then weigh again once you've been loaded. Those are priced by weight versus a scoop like the compost is. Earth First does deliver, but they charge per mile so be aware if you don't live near a physical location.
