It was cut in half so it was plenty big enough to share. The bread was fresh and had a little bit of texture to it. The chicken was crispy and the Caesar dressing was not overpowering. Got my 2nd cheesesteak from here in the last month. Also got "the special" hoagie. Both are excellent. Ordered a small of each. The small cheesesteak is VERY small. The special was a little larger, which seems odd. But both were great. Could've used a little salt on the hoagie, but I don't mind adding that myself versus having it be too salty. Went here on a recommendation that they have the "best cheesesteaks" in town. Ehhhh.. cheesesteak was pretty regular for this area. I ordered with fried onions, sweet peppers, and lettuce. The lettuce wasn't the shredded kind but the salad lettuce (which is weird on any sandwich) and the peppers were just regular green and red bell peppers. It's fine for them not to have sweet peppers as an option, but I wish he would've just said that when I was ordering so I didn't expect to get them on my sandwich. I also ordered old Bay fries and as you can see from the picture below it was a whole lot of fries and barely any Old Bay. They were only $1.50 though, so I'm pretty sure I got what I paid for. read more

I stopped by Mike's today to get some variety from the cheese steaks I usually order from the Country Maid deli two storefronts away. Country Maid sells their subs for five dollars on Mondays and Thursdays, but today being a friday, I decided to check out the competition. Mike's is a small establishment but they can make a terrific sandwich. I ordered a small cheese steak with peppers and onions, extra cheese, as per one of the tips on the Yelp page. As it was being prepared I watched the hustle and bustle of the restaurant as customers sifted in, picked up orders and paid for them. The staff, five or six people crowded around a small prep area, seemed to work together well and didn't bump into each other going about their activities. I paid for my sub and soda with my Visa card, a nice thing to be able to do when many sub shops are still cash only. As for the sandwich itself? Delicious. The "small" size was a generous portion. The bread roll was fresh and the meat was cut nicely and cooked perfectly. The peppers were juicy and flavorful. The cheese was present in just the right way. Furthermore, the sandwich wasn't soggy or greasy, a huge plus. I was pleased with my experience at Mike's and I'll definitely return. They craft a mighty fine cheese steak here and I look forward to my next visit. read more

For $10 for a 12inch sub, this was a pretty good deal! I ate it for 2 meals, so definitely worth it. I thought the cheesesteak was well cooked, very flavorful, and the workers were very nice. This place is close to home, so I definitely need to come here more often. Note: Not much seating inside. Was recommend to come here after I told someone how disappointing another sub shop was. They told me this was the best Fresh Turkey in the area. They werent wrong, this was a great hoagie. I didnt get much on it, but the flavors from the seasoning and turkey were great. I asked for oil and unfortunately it came out super oily. It definitely let the juices soak through but still a lot of oil. Another surprising factor was that the roll didnt fall apart on me considering that is was drenched in oil. Most rolls around here fall apart at the slightest amount of any wetness. But overall great spot, will definitely have to go back for the steak sandwich. This was the first time getting cheesesteaks under the new ownership and will be the last. After seeing everyone's reviews that nothing had changed we decided to order from what was our fav cheesesteak place. When we got the steaks I said "wow this feels really light", which made sense because there was a smear of meat on the bread and it was covered in ketchup. All you could taste was the bread and ketchup. You couldn't even tell there was meat on the bread other than seeing some brown color through the ketchup. Mike's used to STUFF their bread so full of steak meat that you could make another sandwich. And I didn't expect that, but I also didn't expect what we got. We were so disappointed and saddened that our favorite place to get great cheesesteaks had changed so drastically. On top of that the prices increased dramatically. Upon entering I approached the counter because no one else was there and Ordered a large Chicken cheesesteak and a large Italian with a side of sweet peppers.
