This was our first visit (suggested from family)...Food was good, it's very small and loud in there, the service was good - although our waitress messed up the check twice (second time we didn't even bother correcting her). Prices are higher than what is listed online. I don't think we would make a point to go back, unless it was someone else's request. It was good just wouldn't be a regular place we would crave to visit.

Good place to eat. Clean restaurant with good service. I got the San Francisco Sourdough burger. I envisioned the old Frisco Burger that Marie Callender's used to offer. This version was not as cheesy. Good but not great sandwich. Their fries are beer batter which I'm not a huge fan of. My wife had the Chimichurri Melt. Seasoned tri tip with melted cheese. She loved her sandwich. I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

Lots of delicious food to choose from

The Chicken Parmesan and Alfredo was amazing, service above and beyond and I enjoyed the ambiance which was welcoming and friendly. If you get a chance stop by and try some of the delicious food. Thanks Ron

Stopped by Mike's Grillhouse for lunch with a friend today and it was a great experience. Morgan and the additional wait staff (I forgot their names) were very friendly and provided excellent customer service. The restaurant was clean and spacious, and located in a central area. I ordered a Grilled Chicken with mango salsa dish and it was tasty. The chicken was slightly dry, but the mango salsa was a nice addition and the steamed veggies were good too. My friend had the chicken tenders with fries, and those were yummy as well. We spent a while eating and catching up, and were also given a free dessert, which was very kind and unexpected. The berry cobbler with ice cream was delicious and a great way to end a fun lunch. Definitely recommend dining at Mike's Grillhouse if you're visiting Modesto.

Excellent lunch here! Today was a Caesar shrimp salad. Probably the best I've ever had. Awesome service at the bar. Very comfortable fairly quiet. Big screen tv with sports. Great staff ! Nice selection of beers and wine. This spot rocks! See you here

Mike's is a great place to have lunch or dinner. We were there for dinner. They also have take out and likely delivery. The place is spotless. It is also comfortable and not too loud. The bathrooms are nice and the entire place is well kept up. The service was fast and friendly. You are not rushed, but they will check on you, which is great. We ordered several things and loved them all. We had a few of their starters. We loved the crab cakes. It has roasted red pepper aioli and a side of mango salsa. So tasty. We also tried their sautéed scallops which comes with some lovely French bread. We moved on to a Southern steak salad, which was wonderful and could be a whole meal. It has chopped romaine, grilled sirloin steak, shredded cheddar, tomatoes, crispy onion strings, and cabbage blend, with a spicy ranch dressing. It was not too spicy and they cooked the steak the way I wanted it. Their Mandurian chicken salad was my favorite. It has romaine, mandarin oranges, grilled chicken, wonton strips and cabbage in a tasty mandarin dressing. For our mains we had a wonderful chicken penne with a real good Cajun seasoning with parmesan sauce. Needs a little more chicken, but it was very good. Their fish and chips were perfect. The fish batter was so perfect, cooked just right and we loved the fries. We finished sharing a chocolate brownie with a wonderful served ala mode with whip cream, chocolate and raspberry sauce. The raspberry sauce was ever so good. We loved it all and will be back.

This was a by chance lunch stop based upon time and other reviews that happened to popup at the top of my Yelp... Total score, we definitely made the right choice. This was a cozy little bar-type atmosphere with a bar up front and tvs to turn to if you happened to be interested; their presence was not overwhelming though, so hubby was able to enjoy a bit of the game without my feeling like that part of the environment trumped the rest of it and there was no room for conversation... Perfect compromise. The wraps we got were FANTASTIC... We both shared bites of the others and I can definitively say that they were a great choice. Full of flavor and very enjoyable, but not overdone. Both the regular and garlic fries were sooo good . The staff were super helpful and friendly, not overbearing at all. We will definitely return next time we are in the neighborhood

    Medium rare?

I've been in the mood for a good burger for a while and found myself near Mike's around lunchtime. What luck! I'm certain Mike's knows how to make a great burgar, right? Right? Hmm, not so much. I ordered a cheese burger, medium rare, with cheddar, mayo and ketchup. At first glance it looked good, and then I actual tasted it. No mayo, drowning in ketchup, not a single grain of salt or pepper to season the patty and way, way, way overcooked. On top of it all it cost $20.95 for a takeout order with no drink. Really disappointing. In the pros side, the fries were really good, seasoned, hot and nice and crispy. The ranch was good, too. I've been to Mike's three times and have been disappointed the last two.

The Great Gal and I enjoyed a nice lunch at Mike's Grillhouse in Modesto. Service by Kyle was absolutely superb. We split a yum Patty Melt with great fries. Also, had a cup of clam chowder, which we both felt was too thick, allowing the taste of the flour thickener to dominate the flavor of the clams. Kyle very graciously accepted these comments. The restaurant was absolutely packed attesting to its popularity. We will definitely drop in again when trekking to Modesto. FYI - Alcohol here is beer and wine only.

My hubby and I, the chili and cheese toast and the sourdough burger and our drinks.

Is it a fitting location for a work meeting/lunch?

Actually I think it would be a great place for a lunch meeting I think when we were last there they did have a table set up with some people discussing some business at least that's what it looked like with all the papers they had in the table

Do they have lunch specials daily? If so what kind of lunch special do they have?

    Yes

There are a few restaurants that share the parking so there is very limited parking. We had to go around twice to find a parking spot. We had reservations and were sat promptly. They had live music playing in the background, which is nice. We couldn't see it so I didn't know where they were at. It is designed in a circular way where the bar is in the middle so you cannot see across. We were greeted by our server and he was very attentive. He gave us some great recommendations and he was very pleasant. We started with the fig bruschetta and that was a 10 out of 10. It had little bacon bits on top which added a layer of flavor. We also had the spinach and artichoke crab dip, which was 10 out of 10. We added extra crostinis which is recommended. For a drink, I had the Cosmo, which was nice and refreshing. I also had a taste of the Old Glory and that was a nice refreshing twist on the old-fashioned, which was recommended by our server. I had the Calabrian Chile Shrimp Scampi over pappardelle pasta and it was the 10 out of 10. The layers of flavor with the capers, lemon, bacon and spice was perfect! I tried a piece of the crusted halibut, which was very moist and flavorful as well as the salmon. All was great on flavor. For dessert we had the brownie with vanilla ice cream, which is a huge brownie. I would say it's good for four people. I also tried the apple pie cheesecake which was very good and the mixed berry crumble that tasted fresh. I ordered an espresso martini to try it and it looked a little messy on the glass. As for taste, I felt like the Vodka drowned out the espresso notes. 6/10 As mentioned, our server was very friendly and attentive however he did fail to bring ice water when requested, but overall great experience .

The vibe was super chill and inviting, especially with the live music playing. It created such a relaxed, fun atmosphere where we could just unwind and keep enjoying our time together. The staff was really nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The inside has a modern feel to it very clean, stylish, and just a really comfortable space to hang out. What I loved most was the overall energy of the place it felt like a great mix of cozy and lively at the same time. Perfect for winding down, catching up, and just enjoying the moment. They turned a stressful situation into something magical and unforgettable for my daughter. It meant more to us than they probably realize. On top of that, the food was excellent and the service during our visit was just as wonderful, friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. This is the kind of place that truly cares about their customers. We'll absolutely be back, without Baby Bear as she is officially on house arrest! We'll be telling this story for years to come.

Delicious as always…read more My family and I decided to stop by Texas Roadhouse to use up some gift cards. This was on the Friday night before Valentine's Day, around 6:15pm. We called ahead to put ourselves on the list to be seated. We arrived at the parking lot a few minutes before our scheduled time, texted that we arrived, and were immediately told to head to the host table. When we got to the front of the restaurant, we noticed that they had a different set-up than the last time we ate there. Rather than checking in inside, you must meet the host outside. This did not seem to be the most organized system as it led to a large crowd of people waiting at the front. There was the vague idea of a line which turned out to just be a mass of people cutting each other to get to the host table. We quickly met the host who immediately sent us to the indoor waiting area. We were told to wait at a specific number for the host to take us to our table. We waited there for about 5 minutes before we were taken to the outside seating area. As someone who is young and doesn't mind loud music, I would say the volume of the music in there was outrageous. I understand that that is the vibe of the place, but I have never been in a restaurant so loud that I can't hear the person sitting directly next to me. Our waitress came quickly to take our drink orders, bring them back, and take our food orders. I ordered the nine piece grilled shrimp and substituted the rice for a Caesar Salad. For my sides, I got the Loaded Baked Potato and Mac n Cheese. The salad was brought out first and I was genuinely surprised at how much dressing was on it. I usually like a salad with heavier dressing, but this was almost too much. The salad was literally swimming in the dressing to the point of it being soggy. When they brought the entrees out, I noticed that they didn't actually substitute the rice and brought it out anyway (but hey I'm not going to complain)! The shrimp was nice and juicy. The rice was seasoned nicely and the mac n cheese with cheesy and hot. It didn't have the most flavor but it wasn't bad. The loaded baked potato was extremely loaded. I am grateful that they are generous with the toppings, but there was so much bacon I had to scrape some of it off. I was extremely satisfied with my meal, as were my parents who joined me. Our server was very friendly! She came by to check on refills and to ask if we needed anything often. The food came out quickly and as ordered. Everything was basically perfect! I would just prefer to not be seated in the stiff outside tables. Can't wait to go back!

They were just good people who enjoyed what they did and that was awesome. The only annoying thing was it took three tries to get someone to bring a container so we could take one of the sandwich wraps home. The restaurant was clean, spacious, well lit, and cheerful. I appreciated the theme of the movie posters on the wall. That was clever. The food on the other hand was just ok. The fries lacked flavor on their own and could use salt or something. If it wasn't for the garlic on the one fries and whatever it was my wife had on hers those fries would have had no flavor at all. The wrap could have used more dressing, otherwise it was really bland. I had the burger with the egg on it. I forget the name. It had the same problem. Just a lack of flavor. The egg was overcooked. It would have been better if it was sunny side up so the yolk could run. I think it had bacon on it and cheese but I didn't taste either of those. The entire burger was just unremarkable sadly. Would I eat here again? Probably not. If I want a good place to go hang out with friends who work then sure. The staff was great. I just wish the food measures up to how cool they were.
