While vacationing at the local Worldmark resort here in Angels Camp, Mike's Pizza was highly recommended by the locals and we were hungry after a 2.5 hour drive from Yosemite National Park. We were greeted when we walked inside and it was obvious, this is a locals family favorite! We were treated as family here! We ordered a large specialty pizza, half and half from their menu and I also ordered a single trip salad bar. The pizza was loaded with toppings and it was fast, probably 15 minutes! The pizza was some of the best I've had!My salad was super delicious too and both my wife and I enjoyed it! They have a great salad bar! The prices are fair too! We we got carry out while visiting and I gotta say, it hit the sport. When I placed the order the person taking orders was friendly and told me it would take 25-30 minutes. I got there in about 20 minutes and the food was ready. Inside, the place smelled like pizza. Yummy. It kinda reminded me of the old school Pizza Huts. It immediately brought back memories with my family. They had a few arcade games and a few beers on tap. I wish we had eaten there. The pizza itself is awesome with tons of toppings. We also got spicy chicken wings which were a bit dry and not spicy. It's a thicker crust, which I know some people aren't a fan of. I liked it. I've visited Angels Camp for over a decade now, and this was my first time trying their pizza, and Wow! Not gonna lie, I didn't have high expectations and I was completely blown away about how great Mike's Pizza was. After aimlessly scrolling their menu for 20-30 minutes, I decided to go the custom route. I ordered a medium pizza, with the creamy garlic sauce, chicken, bacon, and tomatoes. Something about those combo of flavors mixed together is so darn good. I'm not a tomato sauce kinda guy, and anytime I can opt for a garlic/white sauce, best believe I'm gonna do it. What I loved about the pizza was the crust. The Bay Area is saturated with thin crust pizza, and it was a nice change of pace to have a dough-heavy pizza crust that had crunch on the outside, and soft and airy on the inside. Pair that with the garlic sauce, it felt like it was one giant round pie of garlic bread with toppings, which I can get behind 100% of the time. Ordering here helped me rediscover the joy of creating a custom pizza, especially here because the crust is hella good. Being able to create the exact flavor profile you are looking for, is money well-spent. It may be pricier than going with one of their speciality pizzas, but to me it's worth it. My custom medium pizza was only $21! For the size and quantity, I turned this into multiple meals. For a pickup order, I was able to call-in, and my pizza was ready in about 30 minutes on a Friday at 6pm. We were on a family trip to Arnold and there weren't as many dining options around so we drove to Angels Camp to eat here. When you walk in you right away feel the family friendly vibes.. it felt very inviting coming in, if that makes sense. Plenty of seating, arcade games around the side, staff was friendly, and best of all the pizzas were so delicious! We were also able to order some wings and those were really good, too. We came on a Monday evening and apparently by Monday evening they can sometimes run out of certain things because their shipment doesn't come until Tuesday. It's not their fault for that, but if you're making the drive like we did and want certain things you might want to call and check if it's available before making the drive. They were out of the ribs and chicken tenders when we tried to order those and thought they would be out of wings (but luckily they had wings still). There's not too much in this small town so it's wonderful knowing we can always count on these guys. The food here is great. I am not the pizza lover my husband is, but i truly enjoy Mikes. My favorite is the cowboy. But they also serve so much more than pizza and that makes this gal a happy camper. I have enjoyed their ribs, sandwiches and salads with everything on them! Coming back from snowcamping in Bear Valley, Mike's was open on a Sunday as our group was looking for a hot meal to share together. The giant pizza was huge! And filled up 4 bellies with leftovers. The zucchini sticks and fries were delicious. Get ranch on the side! I also tried the local Apricot Ale from Snowshoe Brewery, yum! Definitely come by here if you're in Angel's Camp. After an hours-long drive & packing up then unpacking our cars, deciding on takeout rather than preparing a meal our first night in town was a good call. Picking up pizzas from Mike's -- an even better call! The debate of getting the Large or Giant size (roughly ~$26 vs. ~$42) was quickly squashed when we found out Large comes with 12 slices and Giant, 20 slices. We ordered three large pies & garlic bread & it was more than enough for my group (with a few slices leftover.) -- BBQ Chicken Combo had a tangy BBQ sauce brushed over the entire crust. Great flavor, would absolutely order again. -- Combination Pizza was the pie we demolished. Not a slice left, which means we'd get this again. -- The Pesto Californian: not only did I manage to forget to snap a pic, I also didn't try this pizza. I must've been stuffed, but what a bummer! I like pesto and artichoke hearts. This was the wild card, & unfortunately I think my group would agree that we'll try a different pie next vacation. Friendly on the phone & in person, the cashier offered us 10% off because we were staying at one of the properties they partner with for discounts.
