For a shop in the middle of a mall this place is fresh and tasty. The people working there are friendly and attentive. I would try it again.

The old food court was so daggy you could practically call it a corner instead of a court, and even spiders wouldn't have cast their webs there. Then the whole place was renovated and looks modern and beautiful now, secret yay! The sushi rolls are just want you want for what you pay, bursting at the seams with good quality filling. They are cheaper than Go Sushi and Sushi Sushi, the rolls are larger and much tastier, why would you not want to walk all the way across the whole shopping centre when you've parked ages away just for a few rolls. I would. It's a no brainer. Don't know how healthy they all are seeing they do put quite a bit of the yummy Japanese Mayo into the sushi rolls. How can things not taste good with that special mayo. Seriously tasty. Worth lining up for, there is usually a pretty healthy line for sushi during lunch times. Bonus thing, they also have noodle soups, yakiudon noodles and karaage chicken and rices, but they aren't as good as the sushi, so stick to what they do best I reckon. I am getting hungry just writing a review on it, I'm going there now.

I always walked past this corner shop in the food court as it is conveniently located right by one of the shop entries. It took a while until I decided to give it ago and when I did try a sushi, I swear I kicked my trolley. How could I have resisted this place for long? Anyways, there wasn't time to waste, I lined back up. On the next couple of visits to the Mt Ommaney shops, I tried out the rest of the food like the Ramen and Bento Box. Eh, not so great! Back to the sushi. When I ordered the 'Steak Bento Box' I was really expecting a winner because the name of the place is Japanese Bento, so to me it was suggesting this was their speciality. It was just, OK. As it is food court food, I will let this slide, I should not expect it to match up to restaurants quality. As I ate my so-so Bento meal, I realised I was eating out of a Styrofoam Bento box! Now, that's not environmentally friendly guys. Wasn't Styrofoam phased out a while ago? It had to be because, Styrofoam (or polystyrene) is the 5th greatest creator of hazardous waste and it is dangerous to those who produce it and those who eat out of it. So am I in danger? No, not really... But I don't like places who still use it, it just has negative impacts all round. Next time I line up here, I'll be sure to stick to the sushi and not eat their bento box meals until conditions improve.

We started off with the agedashi tofu which I liked very much. The tofu cubes came out golden brown and I loved the consistency of the potato starch that was on the outside. It is served in a hot broth made of dash, miring, and Japanese soy sauce and topped with negi (certain spring onion). Then we had the okonomiyaki which was OK. It had no flair and a basic savory pancake made of flour, water or dash eggs, and shredded cabbage. It is usually topped with fish flakes and can be filled with different meats and noodles but this one didn't have anything else. We had the aburi salmon and aburi scallops. I was NOT impressed by the rice that came with these dishes. They were too hard and didn't compliment the beautiful salmon or scallops as it should have. The dragon roll was OK as well. The shrimp did not have a fresh crunch for me and the eel and avocado were not as flavorful as it could have been. I would suggest adding more eel sauce. You can never go wrong with more eel sauce. We ended with a plate of vegetable tempura which was pretty good. I'm pretty picky about my tempura and think it's necessary to have vegetables that are bursting with flavor and the tempura just enhances them. I am not the biggest fan of tempura capsicum (red and green bell peppers) and prefer pumpkin, eggplant, or sweet potato. The staff were very nice and the restaurant had guests coming in and out all evening. You can also BYO as well. If you're looking for top notch Japanese cuisine, I would not suggest this place but if you're in the area and would like super nice service with decent food in a clean and low key atmosphere, stop in. Upon getting it home I realised that the salmon was discoloured, smelly and slimy. If I had a cat (which I don't) I would have been in two minds as to whether it would have the slippery fish in its bowl. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I rang to tell them and received the advice 'chuck it in the fridge for 20 minutes and take it and it should be fine'........quality advise there. They did not listen to me and completely dismissed me after being a 3 year regular..........good luck Miku.......I will never eat there again

You have the option of sitting in the restaurant area or the sushi train area. We opted for the restaurant. Hubby ordered three small separate dishes and I ordered the Sashimi Bento box. The bento box was $20 and really good value for all the food you got. So much so that I didn't even notice that a few things were missing from the box I'd ordered until the chef remembered he'd forgot to add them and prefusely apologised. He even gave us spring rolls because he felt so bad about it. I thought this was really thoughtful of the restaurant. I would happily eat here again. We were both definitely full when he left. Takeaway orders are also taken here.

She had driven passed Kokoro and thought it looked really good, to my shock it was the first I has ever heard of it, which is strange as a I live so close and love Japanese cuisine. We made our way over to the establishment which is located right next to 'Iceworks.' We were shown to our seats by a friendly man who was the only person manning the floor, he quickly brought us menus and asked if we wanted sparkling or tap. The decor is clean and simple in true Japanese style. The booths have cushions that do not match the colour scheme of the rest of the Bistro and the little white vases atop the tables contain sad looking plastic flowers, which admittedly I found off putting. There were metal chop sticks on the table that looked chic but seemed evident were going to cause eating problems, we were offered forks though, we did of course refuse. Seated before 2:00PM mean't we were able to order a Lunch Bento. I ordered the Kokoro Bento ($19) which came with Prawn Tempura Udon, assorted nigiri, fresh Edamame, Prawn Gyoza, Japanese salad, Wakame and white Mochi. My lovely friend ordered the BBQ Pork Bento ($18) which came with Stir fried pork & steamed rice, Miso Soup, Edamame, Japanese salad, Wakame and white Mochi. We were both delighted when the friendly gentleman presented our Bento Boxes to us! They were a larger serving than the usual Bento box and very well presented, I should also add that the meals were brought out approximately ten minutes after we ordered. I was so excited looking at this meal, it honestly looked like perfection on a plate...well in a box. My prawn tempura was crispy, the noodles were packed with flavour from the clear, complex broth it bathed in. My Edamame was NOM-alicious! I don't think I have ever had prawn Gyoza I have ever enjoyed that much and the dipping sauce that came with it was so robust, once I finished my Gyoza I poured the remainder into my udon because I couldn't part with it! The nigiri was fresh and well constructed. The Wasabi was the moist, strong variety. The pickled ginger still had crunch and gingery pa-zang. Even the Japanese salad was incredibly flavourful! I am not a big fan of Mochi, but this white Mochi was wonderful! My friend compared it to butterscotch pudding, which I felt was extremely accurate. It wasn't sickly sweet like Mochi can be either, it was just right with a smooth texture, it seemed to be stored in freezer judging by the temperature of it. I didn't taste my friends stir fry or her Gyoza but I can tell you she felt the same as I did, loved them both, as well as agreeing that all the other elements were delectable. After our meals, we both felt satisfied and even though we had eaten a lot we didn't feel over full or stuffed! Actually, we discussed making Kokoro Bistro our go to place for our get togethers in future. It is hard to find somewhere that has great atmosphere, immaculate food and friendly service. The waiter didn't check up on us at all and he forgot to bring us the cheque even though it was requested. The reason I have not given five stars is because the service was lacking, decor issues, and the metal chop sticks made it difficult t eat even for a chop stick connoisseur. They may seem like relatively small grievances, but perfection does demand no grievances. All in all, I can safely say I am a fan of this place and am pleased I have discovered it. I'm eager to taste the yummy sounding dishes on their dinner menu, I'm looking at you Bulgogi!

Sushi 79 recently opened its doors (November 2011) and it's a little shop with 2 small tables run by 3 friends who live in Richlands who have never owned a Japanese Restaurant before. They are Japanese for starters I thought this can't be bad. They cook everything fresh! They sauce everything authentic and when the food is ready (it's a 2 man kitchen so sometimes you will be waiting a while for your food) it tastes every bit authentic as if you were to go to a Japanese Restaurant in the city. The Yakisoba was really delightful, the vegies were cut delicately just like it should be, the sauce was not overpowering and the noodles were pretty cooked to perfection. The chicken was pre-marinated so tasted super good and it was so yummy my son and I finished it really quick. They also have seaweed, edamame, kyoza (gyoza?) and everything is spelt out for you on the board on the left when you enter. The prices for the entrees are really reasonable starting at $3 for the edamame. Along with the freshly made sushi, they have cool bento boxes as well with beef gyudon and chicken katsu, comes with a miso soup, salad and some dumplings with rice. Great value at $9-$11 depending on which one you want. It would be an idea to pre-order over the phone before you came here for food as they are only 2 men in a big kitchen and still nutting out what it is to handle a semi-busy crowd. I'm a big fan of this place, at last, some yummy Japanese in Jindalee! We've been waiting for a long time.

Most will come from the gym for a healthy quick snack. I tried the chicken katsu bento box which is excellent value for $12. Unfortunately my chicken was fried to a crisp (may have been an accident?!). Still I enjoyed the meal which was enough to satisfy me. I liked the addition of dumplings which really made this meal worth every dollar. The miso soup was tasty and included wakame and tofu as all miso soup should. My boyfriend slurped down a piping hot chicken udon which also had a miso soup base. For this reason it made it a bit bland and underwhelming. The soup was topped with flakes of seafood sticks and little fishball shapes. At $10 I sort of expected a bigger bowl too. Recommend a skip next time. I'm curious to try their ramen next time as well as their takoyaki.
