Had a lovely time at Milagros with my husband. We had both not been there before and were excited to give it a try. The location is decked out in an amazing array of plants and art! Our service was great, we were seated immediately and our server was kind. She had her hands full being the only one on shift at the end of the night but did it gracefully. We loved the chips and salsa and liked our meals. Mine was huge! I was barely able to make a dent and had to take it home. The fry was good on the pepper and it was stuffed with cheese and meat. I got the onion ball which wasn't much to call home about, neither was the spicy rice. I wish I tried the beans instead. My husband was pleased with his dish and was able to finish it. We also shared the strawberry and regular horchata and they were delicious! We will definitely be back to try more dishes! read more

Things have changed in the 14 years since the last review. Being able to be a thriving business for that many years means a lot. My last review could all be wrapped up when I asked for a Mexican hot sauce and they brought Tabasco. Everything was wrong. While the food is still geared to the local palate. It's lots of overly sweet food. Still, I found things that were pretty good. In the end, I can see why it's popular. It' doesn't really bring me to Mexico City or similar. I would not exclude coming back. They no longer have beer. That's important when dining out for me, but doesn't seem to hurt things here. read more

The salsas are not spicy. They're boring. They add nothing to the food. The guacamole is fresh and good. The beef is good. The chicken mediocre. Rice is ok. Too sweet for me. Corn is good. But the corn tortillas for the enchiladas were raw. They just don't measure up to a great meal. Service was good. Prices about right. The place is clean. I won't go back though. They sure know how to make their coffee! It's strong and perfect. The coffee was not hot but when we mentioned it to the they immediately replaced it. Baklava was so good! If you are reading this order the baklava. The croissant and almond custard were average. They have a cute patio and you can take plenty of pictures there rice , onion and fried jalapeño. I've driven past this place hundreds and hundreds of times and have never eaten there. Today my husband and I decided to give it a try since our usual mexican restaurant had an hour wait. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the baby back enchiladas and he got the chimichanga. The green salsa is unlike any other salsa I've had. It has a sweet smoky taste to it. Vibe was great. Lots of decorations. We went at night so the lights were dim and it was a fun atmosphere. The service was wonderful, our waiters name was Crash, and he was very friendly and checked on us a good amount of times. Their food is where they lost a star. Free chips and salsa were very yummy. Their salsa was okay and their green salsa was pretty sweet - I didn't care for it but my BIL loved it. I got the ribs with "spicy" sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Wonderfully cooked and flavor was incredible. Was not spicy at all. I also got spicy rice which was still very sweet. Flavor was fine. Refried beans were basic refried beans. What was very strange was they served me a full boiled onion, which was cold and had no seasoning at all. It was strange considering it was cold and had no flavor, and we didn't even have any knives to cut it. And no I wasn't interested in picking up a wet cold onion to eat like an apple. My kids got the charred onion side which was charred and flavored which they enjoyed - but mine seemed to be boiled and out of place. The taquitos that my children got were not good, VERY VERY dry. Tonight, my food was delicious! I love the complimentary chips and salsa. The tortilla chips are served warm! The red and green salsas are equally delicious. I tried the salmon enchiladas with the spicy avocado sauce and - wow! I could drink that sauce. Absolutely amazing! The salmon chunks were big and their homemade flour tortillas are incredible! We were here for a short trip & after a long day traveling we asked the hotel front desk where we could get some quick tacos but not fast food (if that makes sense) she recommended this restaurant & we were blown away. Such unique items, the super unique sweet green chile salsa- wow I've never had a salsa like that before. We tried all different tacos- the shrimp, sweet & spicy pork, there was another pork I can't remember what it was called, & the green chili chicken. All were incredible but the sweet and spicy was my favorite. We also tried the strawberry horchata! Another unique feature. Very delicious! Our food came quickly. Our teenage grandson inhaled his chimichanga, but made no comments on taste. The horchata and raspberry lemonades were spot on! We were not used to a crunchy outside on the rellenos without either a red or green sauce on top. The crunchy outside didn't add anything to the flavor, in fact my wife was not impressed with the flavor nor the texture of her rellenos! Her refried beans were very dry and flavorless. Her onion ball also lacked flavor. My taco had two crispy corn tortillas and was served in a holder to keep it crunchy. The filling was too dry and also lacked flavor. The borracho beans were dry and bland. I thought the onion was the best part of the meal. My wife loves cooked onions but not this one. The chips were fresh, thin and crispy, however the salsa looked and tasted like someone had peeled a tomato then mashed it but forgot to add onions, cilantro or lime juice. My wife doesn't like hot spicy food, but she does expect flavor. We ate here about ten years ago but weren't impressed. We decided to give them another try and hoped they had improved. When finally someone asked me how many I said 3, then he refused to seat me - my brother and sister-in-law were walking in from the parking lot. Instead he sat the couple behind me. When my brother and his wife walked in, once again he refused to seat us, without explanation and insisted we hadn't been waiting. Wanted us to keep waiting longer. So we left. Driven by this place can't tell you how many times. Always wanted to try it. Came here Monday with a friend before a concert and it was quite good. Surprised to see a drive-through window so I was a little concerned at first. Once inside, I found a little gem in Orem. Had the salmon enchiladas and they were delicious. The inside was pretty cool and well decorated. It was a very relaxing environment. The tables and chairs were comfortable and not too close to each other. The staff was friendly and smiled and was totally willing to answer my questions. They were also very patient with us and offered their opinions on what was good or even better in flavor. I got the BBQ enchiladas and a strawberry horchatta. It was soo good! The flavors were amazing and the meat was also tender. The sweet onion was really good and perfectly cooked as well. It complimented the main dish very well. We also got some taquitos and they were good too but the chicken was a bit dry. The pork was much better. My wife and I just came here for a late lunch and holy cow, this is our new favorite restaurant! The service is great, atmosphere is amazing, and the food... the food is to die for! She got the seafood enchiladas, black beans and sweet rice. Everything was top level! We were both impressed with how good the beans even were! I got the beef chimichanga with the Spanish rice and black beans. The beef is incredible! The chimichanga was crispy on the outside and full of flavor. And this is the best Spanish rice in the state of UT by far. They even brought out several types of salsa with our chips while we waited for our food to be prepared. Everything here was amazing! We used to live a lot closer and went to Milagros fairly regularly. We've since moved away but decided to go back. I gotta say I'm a little disappointed and noticed a decline in food quality. I get the same thing every single time we go which I feel are two of the best things on the menu: Sweet Green Chile Chicken stuffed Quesadillas or the Baby Back Rib Enchiladas. Today was a green Chile chicken kinda day but I'm disappointed to see the once marinated, season sliced chicken breast meat has been replaced with clearly cheaper stringy shredded chicken. If you look at the photo on the menu, you can see what they used to use--and it was drastically better before. Also, this visit, "stuffed" was an exaggeration for the quesadilla which is now about half the volume/quantity as before. The grilled onion recipe also seemed to have changed and the honey glaze is gone and it was pulled from the grill far too early; removing its once signature charring. My wife seemed to really enjoy her pork chimichanga (and avoided the chicken option to steer clear of that same shredded chicken) and my kids seemed to really enjoy their kids meals, despite the fact our server didn't bring their "ice cream treat" which was meant to be included with their meals. We just left and didn't push for the forgotten ice cream. Other than the decline of quality ingredients, everything else about the visit was just as good as we remember. read more

A family friendly place for sure. Authentic mexican food. SOO GOOD! I've eaten here a so many times already and my Go-To is the Chimichanga (red chicken/beef) with red sauce on top and with refried beans and Spanish rice. Great service, I get my food quick with kind and attentive servers. If you're looking for a good date night or a night out with the family, this is a the place to go.
