This review is on Milana's customer service across several occasions when I was setting up birth photography for my labor and delivery. I was not able to work w Milana in the end due to my OB having discomfort with having a professional photographer in the delivery room. From the start, I contacted Milana the week of my baby's due date. She was very gracious and understanding. She was timely to answer emails and made a real effort to discuss my vision and get to know me with an over the phone consultation. She shared a lot about her experience as a birth photographer and some even about her own experiences w her children's births. Interestingly she mentioned she has such a passion for birth, that she is considering training as a doula in the future. I was self conscious about finding a photographer last minute so she gave me examples of other mother's who had contacted her for birth photography even on the day that they began labor! I used Milana to photograph the birth of my son in May. Milana was so sweet and available to me when I was at my worst! I felt so comfortable with her in the room. I am a very modest, self conscious person but she made me feel so secure and supported while I was fighting the hardest battle of my life! There was a complication after my baby was born and we weren't sure what was wrong. Milana was completely sensitive but still documented the very real moments that were happening. I have such a blurred memory of the events of that day, but I can go back and look at my gorgeous pictures and be reminded of all the beautiful, sweet, vulnerable moments that would have been lost if not for her pictures. The pictures are a clear representation of her talent and instinct. Her clear photojournalistic sensibilities aid her in capturing amazing images. Due to an unknown blood disorder, I will never have a natural labor again, I am so,SO thankful that Milana was there to document the day in such a beautiful way. Milana was our photographer for the birth of my first child in Sept '16. She is incredible! I had met with one other photographer before meeting Milana and the other photographers photos, personality and experience could not even come close or compare to Milana's experience and quality of photos taken. My husband liked Milana right away when we first met due to her professionalism and that her photos were really good from her online portfolio. Not to mention she knows her stuff and carries multiple cameras etc. My husband is a tech guy and was impressed that she is a true photographer taking quality photos. (There are many people out there saying they are photographers these days with merely OK photos). Milana takes photography seriously as it is her career. She knows how important and difficult it can be in birth to try and capture those once in a lifetime quick 1 second moments that occur in childbirth. Additionally, I knew I wanted a birthing center birth. Milana has gone through natural childbirth herself. Her presence in the room was calming, not distracting and ever comforting. She captured all the photos I could have ever hoped for and more. She even would send me texts through the end of the pregnancy to just check in and let me know she is ready whenever my body and baby were ready. Milana was supportive in labor without being intrusive. She does her best to capture those quick moments that come in a flash and are gone within seconds in birth. Again, with a hard to impress husband he loved that she was always easy to get in contact with, very professional, supportive and so nice! I don't write reviews on Yelp, but for this photographer I just have to! I had a surprise engagement with a photographer planned for about a week and on the morning of my photographer had cancelled! I found Milana and on 6 hours notice she made a 2 hour drive to shoot for us! You can tell when someone is just doing their job for money, and you can tell when they are genuinely passionate about what they do. Milana has passion and loves doing her job. She helped us do different poses and helped with the angles and lighting of the scenery. She also has agreed to speed up our editing process so that I can see the pictures before I leave on deployment. Wow! We hired Milana to document our home birth in July and we were blown away when we looked through our pictures! She was truly amazing from start to finish. To begin with, Milana took the time to really get to know my family and she made a point to check in with me while I was still pregnant. I loved her positivity and her encouraging words! I had a newborn session with Milana when my daughter was born and loved her so much that we used her again for her 6-month mark. She is incredibly adaptable, very prepared, has a ton of ideas, props, fabrics, etc for the session. The newborn session went so smoothly even though we were still getting used to being parents. She came to our home and took as much time as needed for her to get fantastic shots of our precious newborn. I am so glad we trusted her in capturing our daughter's first days of life. The 6-month session was at a park near by our home. Our daughter just got to be herself and Milana captured that perfectly. I highly recommend Milana for all your photography needs!! We first booked Milana for a newborn photoshoot and could not have been happier with the many beautiful pictures she captured of our little girl! She spent about 4 hours with us, brought so many fun props, and had the most gentle touch with our little baby. We were so happy with Milana for the newborn shoot that we booked her for our daughter's first birthday shoot, too!
