My wife and I found this place on Yelp while driving along the Rhein one afternoon. We were looking for a good lunch spot and decided to check this place out. We parked along the main road as it runs through town, then walked into the shopping area and made a left uphill to the restaurant. There were two other tables occupied outside on the covered patio when we arrived, so we decided to take a third table and were seated by the server. She then gave us the menus to peruse for a few minutes, and soon we had ordered the Penne Arrabiatta (extra sharf), Penne with Gorgonzola sauce, and two Pilsners. Inside the restaurant was a very pleasant smell of freshly baked pizzas, and a number of additional tables in front of a bar that separated the front of the house from the kitchen. Soon our beers and food were delivered. The pasta was piping hot with amazing sauces. Super flavorful, and excellent textures. The portions were big enough that we requested a box with the rest to go. The total was 21 Euros for everything, which was a great value, given the quantity and quality. This is a highly recommended place to come for some great pasta and a nice vibe.

Our first choice was located outside of Frankfurt, leaving only Quattro on the table. Our orders: - scallops with truffle: scallops were perfectly prepared and I thought the truffle shavings were pretty generous. The sauce however, was WAY TOO SALTY! Like...reallyyyy...you don't taste your cooking before serving it to paid customers? - Spaghetti Quattro with scampi, mussels, clams and baby calamari in white wine butter sauce: pasta was al dente. it was delicious with plenty of shell fish, BUT again, it was on the salty side. If the amount of salt could be toned down a bit, this would be a winning dish! - Spaghetti ala vongole: almost the same with the spaghetti Quattro above but with only clams. Sauce was not as salty which is awesome! - Lemon sorbet: served partially melted already. I hate melted ice cream and sorbet! BUT it was surprisingly good! I would never voluntarily order a lemon sorbet but we were not in the mood for a tiramisu or a soufflé that night. It was light & refreshing & exactly how we wanted to close our meal. House bread was served cold and hard. I hate cold hard bread. I had to ask them to warm it up. They did. On a side note: when we came, indoor dining area was empty. The waiter asked us to sit at the full patio without letting us know it's a smoking dining area. A must-stop to try the famous Riesling Gelato…read more So the top summary heading says it all - my girlfriend and I were walking around the charming town of Bacharach when we spied "Riesling Gelato" hanging in the window. We immediately stopped what we were doing and ventured inside. The inside is quaint and continues that Bacharach feel of a mom-and-pop shop. We were served immediately and got to taste the Riesling...oh my it tasted just like the wine. For those that have never tried, Riesling is typically a sweeter white wine, and it blends perfectly as a frozen treat. Also, what are you doing in Germany's wine country and you don't know what Riesling is!? And yes, this place comes Rick Steves recommended.
