Had a nice meal here, got to try a few different things…read more Pork and Mushroom Spring Rolls - Probably the best dish of the night, and better than the spring rolls that even my favorite Thai restaurant serves. The mushrooms are the clear winner here; I couldn't even tell that these had pork in them. And I didn't care. Polenta chips - The most disappointing dish of the night. The chips themselves were executed well and extremely crispy. The letdown was in the sour cream and chili jam served as accompaniment. The sour cream is just a bad choice, as it's too bland to work with the polenta. Chili jam is a better idea, but what they served didn't have any heat in it at all; just sweetness. So the options were creamy polenta chips or sweet polenta chips, when spicy was what I was hoping for. Caper, Olive, and Anchovy Pizza - This was the best pizza I've had on the Coast since Mikki's got new ownership and became Corbin's. I was worried that with three salty things on it, the pizza might taste like nothing but salt. What I got, however, was perfectly balanced. Not too salty at all, and with a perfect thin and crispy crust. Definitely a very good pizza. Thai-style Chicken - This one came off of the specials list. It was a solid dish, although nothing about the flavor really said "Thai" or even "Thai-style". The spices used to season the skin were tasty and perhaps vaguely Thai-like, but that's about it. Setting that aside, however, it was still tasty and deserves points for creativity if nothing else. Doughnuts - An enjoyable dessert. They're served with some chocolate mousse (very dense) and rhubarb and raspberry jam. For me the doughnuts didn't really work when combined with the jam, but they paired perfectly with the mousse, and the jam and the mousse worked well together too. So overall, a solid finish to a solid meal. Service wise, the food practically flew out of the kitchen. The timing was pretty much perfect, and I was impressed as they had a fair number of tables going and everyone seemed to be getting their food quite promptly. Prices are reasonable, though the portion sizes are maybe just a touch on the small side. Overall a very good meal. Definitely recommended.

Each steak option is on display to help you decide what to have. For those that don't enjoy steak, there's plenty else to choose from. Trust me you won't go hungry. The bar has a fair selection of tap beers and bottled. Staff are generally friendly and there's a kids play room to give you some peace. The standout feature of this restaurant is the view overlooking Mooloolaba and Kawana. At night is gets better. Best to get a reservation and grab a window seat.

Nathan and Jade at the bar let me run a tab to settle at the end of the night and they were so professional. Nathan went to great lengths to get the wine we wanted from the menu. Grace took care of our table needs and was very attentive. They let me bring my own birthday cake and Grace brought it out with plates and spoons and candles lit. No extra charge like some restaurants do for this service. As the evening drew to a close, there was no pressure to leave as staff cleaned other tables and they let us leave at our leisure. I would highly recommend Buderim Tavern for a great night celebrating a birthday or a family and friends event where you want great food and great service.
