I came here specifically looking for playmobil for my daughter for Christmas. I'm not aware of anywhere else in town that carries it. (If you know of anywhere else, please let me know!) While they have a good selection of playmobil nothing tickled my fancy, so I perused the store, and wow, do they have an awesome selection of toys. Sooooo many fun things. I spent quite a bit longer in here than I planned to. While I didn't get any playmobil I picked up some other items for my daughter and nephew. Staff was friendly and ready to assist right away. Need to update this as they have moved to Swan Ave. into their very own brick and mortar. It looks like it used to be a house, but it is really well done and very cute. They have lots more space, which means lots more inventory. They have such great stuff, I could plunk down several thousand dollars easily buying stuff. It makes it more difficult not to spend because we now have four granddaughters, and who doesn't like to spoil their grandkids? Really, today we spent three digits on Christmas presents. Look, the stuff they have that's also on some online stores, like the one with a big smile on their boxes and delivery trucks? Mildred & Dildred's prices are competitive. I've found many items that are the same price or maybe even a tad cheaper. Yeah, a few items might be a hair more expensive, but I would waaaaaaaaaaay rather support a local business that is so good than send my money elsewhere. I also love the fact that you can actually see the stuff, put it in your hands (or at least the package), read about it, or have one of the employees tell you about it. The employees are super friendly (Well, they work at a TOY store!) and are super helpful. Look, most of the employees there have been there awhile. One has been there for 15 years! Another for 5, and so on. They know their toys and make helpful suggestions for age appropriate toys with the fun appeal. Of course, they carry so much great stuff. You will see in one of my videos, the stuffed animal and book room. So many great books for all ages. You just need to go to the store and take a look around. I love this place! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Great store! I remember when it was in La Encantada mall. There were places to sit and play, but that's not the case now However, the store is still awesome! My daughter and I came for her Friday Funday treat and she was allowed to choose one thing. Initially the store overwhelmed her, but only because there were so many choices. She was literally running around like a kid in a toy store lol. I'm sure she looked at each toy 5x. My favorite things were bow and arrows (arrows had padded tips!), animal family sets for doll houses, skateboards, sea lamps, dress up costumes (including shields and swords for girls!), and the coolest kids eating utensils I've ever seen. They even had stocking/present stuffers like candy necklaces, squeeze toys, rubix cubes, large rolls of smarties candy, earring stickers. My daughter ended up choosing a tea set in a basket. In the last two days, we've had at least 7 tea parties with her stuffies and our puppy as our guests of honor. The ladies at the store walked around and offered help and information. For instance, the largest size for the kids costumes is 5/7. Whether you want to spend $1 or $200 is up to you. The choices are endless! I recommend this store for kids gifts hands down. Note: depending on the time, it can be difficult getting into the store from the street. I suggest heading south of Swan to enter the store. Took the kids today and they had so much fun looking at EVERYTHING there is so much inside this store and it is all organized and neat. I found the tea set I was looking for plus some books. The kids found some cool slime, fidget toy and some fun candies. The stuffed animals and baby dolls are the softest I have ever felt! And so adorable with a wide variety of animals, reptiles, dinosaurs - all so soft! They are pricey for stuffed animals but it would be worth it, especially for baby shower gifts, or even older kids and adults (we all need a cuddle buddy at any age!). They had STEM sets and some musical toys. Puzzles, lots of books and puppets.. Baby toys.. art supplies... super cute charm bracelets and charms. Not only do they carry books, costumes, and (play-mobile central) toys but they put on plays, create cute YouTube videos, and their monthly window displays are adorable! Any trip to La Encantada will find me there, looking for something that will make my day brighter. There is a constant rotation of special events in the courtyard and in the store. My nephew loves their monthly lego character trading/swap event. Mildred and Dildred offers special discounts every 5th Saturday, in addition to frequent toy drives for Tucson children's charities (bring in a new toy and get a discount at the store). A unique feature of the store is they will wrap your purchased in brown paper, tie it up with string, finishing it off with a hand drawn little tag for free. And it's especially great for getting g a gift to for a child out of state. I sent my cousin's toddler all kinds of arizona/desert themed stuffed animals and coloring books. I love the little section of arizona type toys etc. I had to give four stars instead of five only because of how expensive it is. If you really wanted to search Amazon or online, you'd find a lot of what they carry for 30% or more less than their prices. BUT, when I've got the extra cash, I'd gladly spend a little bit more to support a local business. I surely hope the employees are paid well and have great benefits, they are all so extraordinarily kind and helpful. I've only been in here a handful of time because it's far from where I live but everytime I go, I can't wait to come back. I bought a really big, dining room table size (four feet by five feet in dimension), 5000 piece jigsaw puzzle made by Ravensburger. It was priced rather high for me but after spending some 75 hours on it this month I would say its only 25%- 33% completed so its shaping up as a good value for my entertainment. I just love jigsaw puzzles and can usually knock out a 1000 piece in two to three days but this thing is a major project. I've already decided to buy another one when I finish this one. If you go here, look up high on the wall to your right at the world map as you walk through the front door. That is a 9000 piece puzzle that took someone a year to complete. read more

I love this place even more. I stopped in to buy a birthday gift for a 6 year old. I got her a cute little jump rope and bracelet. When checking out they asked if I wanted it gift wrapped and it was like an answer to all my problems as the next place I needed to go was the post office to mail the gift.
