The total area of the park is 18.3 acres and includes a walking trail, a pond, a children's play area and picnic tables. And it's beautiful! There's a gorgeous weeping willow near the pond and the footpath to the pond is lined with daffodils. There are always ducks and geese on the pond and there's a rarely a day that I don't see families feeding bread to the ducks. Barclay Park is a very popular place for dogs; we encounter many of them every time we take a trip there. There's lots of open space for dogs to run around and play and a creek for them to swim in.

A rich, luscious, well-tended plot of land smack dab in the middle of London, beckoning all the dogs to play. It's not fancy but there are a few benches and garbage cans, heavy gates and enough room for your pooch to burn off the excess energy and pretend they don't live in a small space all day long. Overall, thumbs up. If you have a dog and live close (or even a longer walk away) this spot is surely worth putting on to your route.

This park was a very belated discovery for me despite living only 20 minutes away from it. It's…read morelarge enough to pack all the different things it has and yet small enough to not get utterly lost. It has a basketball court, children playgrounds, trails, table tennis tables, cycling track, large swathes of green to pick a spot on and benches everywhere. Literally everything you could want and need in a neighbourhood park! I easily spent half a day here on my own. There are a good mix of people there. I spotted a range from groups of mothers with prams to large groups of teenagers setting up picnics. Great atmosphere even on a Monday morning. If you live in the area, I strongly recommend you check out this park especially now that the sun is coming out!

It's a massive dog friendly park (any areas that aren't are very clearly marked) and has a lot of interesting aspects to explore. This isn't just your normal park as it also has a memorial and various art sculptures in the park plus we passed a small playground at one point all keeping for quite the interesting walk. My friend was telling me they used to have sheep grazing! I'm not sure if it was just the time of year I went or if they have been permanently removed, but no sheep were to be had in March. It's big on festivals in the summer apparently with a nice open air pavilion type theater outdoor area.

As, it isn't that well known it is only really busy in the best of summer days which in my opinion lets it down a bit. The playground area is one of the best around with tonnes of things to keep the kids busy for atleast a couple of hours. The park itself is kept well and surrounded by trees which encloses it slightly. This place is perfect if you want to get out of the office and have a bit of lunch and get into the sunshine which I have done on numerous occasions in the past. The tennis courts offer those who can't stay still, a chance to burn off all that energy.

Blaker's Park is a smaller local park wedged between Preston Drove on the south end and Stanford…read moreAvenue at the north end. It is much more compact park than Preston Park down the road and works perfectly for families and young kids. The whole park is on a slope which makes it a little more difficult for portable barbecues but great for rolling down the hill! As you walk down the grassy slope from Stanford Avenue you reach a lovely red brick clock tower and a small cafe stand (great coffee, GREAT cakes!) and two tennis courts in excellent condition (free before 10am). Next to the tennis courts is a small playground for young kids with a sandpit, slide and various climbing frames- as well as some picnic tables for parents. Grab a coffee and watch your kids burn off their energy!

It is a huge park, that if you were to traverse the outer path you'll have walked 5Km doing that one circuit. It was named in honour of our queen Victoria herself. It stands proudly in East London, underneath the fine borough of hackney and above tower hamlets! It's my favourite park in London, if not the world! It's not particularly crazy in design or has architectural or agricultural delights or even much elevation, however it's just perfect. On a fine sunny day, the park screams community, relaxation and escapism from the bustle of the city. I run around the park 2-3 times a week and never get tired of it. It makes me breath fresh air and the people there are lovely! Please go to the park and treat it some respect as it will certainly treat you with a wonderful experience, right back at ya!

Beautiful tree lined paths to walk down, lovely ponds and water features that attract wonderful wildlife, so many places to just...chill. Just about the only sizable park I know of east of The City. Tasty cafe's and shops to pop into on Lauriston Road after a nice walk in the park. Enjoy!
