That should tell you everything you need to know about how much I love this place. After nearly two decades, they have constantly provided phenomenal service. Everyone is always friendly, helpful, polite, and genuinely courteous. Their selection is incredible, with an excellent mix of new and used books. They're also incredibly knowledgeable about what they carry, which makes browsing and finding something new to read that much more enjoyable. Whether you know exactly what you're looking for or you just want to wander the shelves and see what finds you can uncover, there's truly something for everyone. One of my favorite things about Barbed Wire Books is there a used book trade-in program. You can bring in your gently use books and receive credit towards more used books. As an avid reader, this is absolutely fantastic. It makes it so much easier to keep feeding the reading habit without constantly emptying my wallet. And speaking of value, their prices are phenomenal, especially in the used section. You can find incredible books for prices that make you wonder why you'd ever buy a book anywhere else. They also have all sorts of cute little treasures and trinket scattered throughout the store, so there's always something unexpected to discover. Barbed Wire Books is welcoming, affordable, knowledgeable, and genuinely feels like a bookstore for everyone. There were also many different types of unique gifts for purchase - some reading related and some fun and quirky. One of the owners, Aubrey, was friendly, helpful and had a great sense of humor (she even offered us some tea as we checked out the books). They have a large fiction and children's book sections. They are working to expand their non-fiction section. They had a small used books section too. There is plenty of free street parking. This bookstore is very close to some other wonderful businesses including Cavegirl Coffee and Babette's Bakery. If you're a fan of independent bookstores, this is a great place to visit!
