The interior is pretty typical to any chippy, it was small and noisy but it was clean and the menu board looked slick and modern. I did have some difficulty communicating with the man behind the counter due to the noise, he originally thought I had ordered three portions of fish and chips, but I quickly confirmed I said gluten-free instead. I felt uncertain while waiting he had actioned this request though. Pricing is reasonable and competitive and it cost slightly less than I'd pay at my usual choice for fish and chips, although the portion was slightly smaller. In full, I ordered - Gluten-Free Fish and Chips - Gluten-Free Sausage - Gluten-Free Irish Curry The fish and chips were OK, it was a little overcooked for my liking, while the batter was crispy the fish could have been better. The chips were nice though, especially with the curry sauce and I enjoyed the sausage. My family had a take out night probably every other Friday (both my parents worked, you can't blame them) and mostly we'd stay within walking distance to our house but a fair few times we'd drive up to Armstrongs. It has all the usual- fish (home of the jumbo cod and all that...), sausage, pies, chips, baked beans, peas and cans of soft drink. The chips are amazing, exactly the right size, cut and frying. None of this Mcdonalds fries type nonsense that some shops are trying to get away with. Greasy goodness that you just can't ween yourself off.
