Stopped by here for wood. This place looked closed but there were a sign on the door that it's self serviced and place the money in the lock box next to the wood. Starter logs cost $10, middle boxes costs $25, large boxes costs $35. Very easy to just back up, load up my car with firewood, and drop the money off in the box. Highly recommend! read more

Nice family business. He worked hard and the split of wood types was as close to even as could be! The communication was tough from their office they don't answer with a company name so i didn't know if I had the wrong number and they never emailed me a confirmation and I guess my order was lost and if I hadn't called the day before it wouldn't have happened... but these are things all companies deal with so hopefully this was a one off. They sell scrap wood and wood to big for my fireplace I had to hire someone else to cut about 10 pieces also some of the wood infested with termites omg miles mother answers the calls well she text back calls and is so rude don't waste your money there are several wood people in town that are professional and less expensive this company is a joke and you will get scrap wood on top of it !!! We have used Miles Mountain Firewood several times. Our last Miles Wood delivery prior to today was $375 per cord. Today's load was $410. A couple months ago they were out of wood, but granted this winter has been nothing short of legendary in snowfall, with freezing temperatures, road closures, empty grocery store shelves, empty gas stations and many power outages. It's no wonder they ran out of wood! We are filled up to capacity again and I'm a happy camper! My husband and I had if all stacked up into the wood shed in under 45 minutes. Been ordering wood from miles for a few years. This year he brought me a cord of wet uncured wood. Called they never answered. Drove there and let them know. A few days later they came picked up the wet wood. Another day later they brought another bad bad wet uncured cord. Complained by calling over and over. They brought a third cord. Wet uncured. We refused!! Miles pulled up my street very fast mad. Backed into my driveway so fast and mad my 66 year old husband had to jump out of the way or get ran over. Please check your wood before you let this company unload. Miles sent me a refund receipt saying no refunds. And stated he left me a free half cord. That is just not true. read more

Very helpful nice kid I helped him load my car with a wheelbarrow of wood good price butt the wood quality.... if I would have known I was buying bark beetle trees (dead trees that got infected with a beetle that pledged the trees up here) I would have never bought the wood but I guess you get what you pay. Wow. We were on our way to drive to our place in Big Bear and called miles Mountain firewood on the way. Their prices were significantly lower than other places in town and included stacking. Within a few hours of arriving at our place the firewood was here, stacked within 10 or 15 minutes into soft wood and hard wood piles, and we're all set for the winter. I bought a barrow of firewood from Miles to see my family through a snowy weekend in December. Reaching him was a tricky as it's a family business and they have other jobs going on. I strongly recommend calling to confirm that someone will be available; Miles was busy all afternoon but kept his word about meeting up after hours (7pm). The wood was dry and made of a good mix that burned slowly. I was able to bring some of it back to the city for my home fireplace. Now my car has a "new firewood" smell! read more

Have been playing "text tag" for over 2 weeks and when they finally get eucalyptus in Miles informed me that they would be here on Wednesday the 13th of November. I requested afternoon delivery and he agreed. So as not to inconvenience them I cancelled an appointment down the hill to make sure that I would be here for the afternoon delivery. Also texted him and informed him that I would be at the location nlt 1pm. No response (their responses in the past are usually 2-3 days out and they RARELY answer their phones. Wednesday afternoon came and went with no delivery. I tried calling repeatedly with NO answers. Finally got in touch with him the next morning at 11:50 and he stated that he was down the hill yesterday and his "guy" was supposed to deliver. He stated that he would call him and call me right back. No return phone call and no answers via text. Guess they are soo successful that they don't need additional business. If I could give zero stars, I would. Beginning to believe that most of the posts are bogus. I would definitely NOT recommend doing business with someone that does not answer phone calls, not show up for deliveries (when both parties agreed) and not return calls or text. NOT THE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS IN A SMALL TOWN. I will be using the people I used last year, just thought I would give these people a chance... my bad.. read more

Great little family owned business up at the lake. It was our first time renting a cabin and they asked all the right questions to make the process as easy as could be. They made sure to check if we had stairs/blockages for delivery, were flexible on the delivery window and even stacked it for us. Just be sure to call order in early if planning a trip on a major holiday as the whole area can get very busy. The best firewood experience I've had was a place on the boulevard in Big Bear City.They have a big sign out front, so I called the number when I needed a cord of pine. A nice lady answered and they delivered and stacked it the same day. I live about 5 miles away,and they delievered and stacked it all for only $10 extra.
