So glad I did because she was quick, nice, professional and gave me good counsel by introducing me to the accelerator (maybe I'm using the wrong term-it's the tan that develops more quickly and you HAVE to shower in 3 hours). Let me tell you something-I've gotten a fair amount of spray tans, and I have to say, I'd definitely go back to her, and definitely do this solution because it looked so natural, so even, and I had the chance/ability to get this done late on a Friday afternoon, let it set for 2 hours, rinse, board an 11 hour flight and still have it look like when I landed. Jackie informed me that anything they do would fade considerably by the time my event came around. She said she would ask her boss for a recommendation in California and call me back. Within five minutes, she called me back with the name of a salon in California. They went above and beyond without knowing me. They were honest with me as to what the results would look like if I did it a week ahead of time, even if it meant losing the business. When I do decide to use a tanning salon in New York, this will be the only place I will be calling. This is old school customer service at its best!

I was offered the option to rebook with a regular artist, but the price was nearly double. When I asked politely if they could honor the apprentice rate or offer a discount since the cancellation wasn't on my end, they declined "because we called you yesterday and she had a dental emergency". It was disappointing to be met with a lack of empathy, especially since this left me scrambling at short notice. This would have been my first visit to this business, and while I understand things happen, I wish the situation had been handled with a bit more flexibility and care.

When I said they lost a client (this was my favorite spot, I have been here many times and given them a lot of business), he said thank god and good riddance. I just don't think anyone should be treated this was - he was such a gaslighter i won't be surprised if this gets an owner reply continuing to make me feel like I was in the wrong and to try and defend yelling at a woman. Edit: 30 min later The male employee was right! That dude is NOT getting in trouble because he is related to the manager! I received a few missed calls from the salon, and finally answered. Marina (manager) called me (i did not reach out or ever intend to contact them beyond leaving this yelp review, clearly he reached out to her to get ahead of his behavior). I told her I did not feel like being berated anything further, and told me I was a very, very rude woman and she saw absolutely nothing wrong with this employees behavior or the way he spoke to me. She told me never to come back so I guess that's where we're leaving it.
