Newcastle isn't new to the burger scene but certainly new to this concept. Bringing that over-the-top Sydney vibe that screams attention! Urban murals, matching music, freakishly massive cocktails and super sweet smaller ones.
I came for the burgers and after viewing their drool inducing Insta page I was excited to say the least. They looked like amazing towers of meat and oozy cheese. Emphasis on the tower. SADLY..... no tower was to be had. When my burger came out I probably gave my partner the look he has come to know with me and food. I was disappointed. It looked liked a kids burger. Way too petite for me. I asked the waitress about the large serving of chips and if it was enough for two. She said yes and at nearly $9 I would hope so. Once again the size to price ratio was off. That was a single serve of chips and nowhere near worth the money. Under seasoned also. There was more than enough room for dessert which after seeing someone else get one at the table next to us (small again); I wasn't taking the risk. We went elsewhere on Darby Street for dessert.
My burger (The Big L?) was tasty albeit a bit messy with the sauce. It's a shame the size didn't cut it. My partner likened his to a Whopper which once again would have been much bigger.
Keep the prices the same. I can handle that. But please increase the serving. read more
