It's like an old timey feeling ice cream shop right near downtown Regina. Window service only. We stopped by after shopping at the Cornwall Centre on a Sunday while visiting the city. The staff were super helpful and very kind and patient as the 6 of us tried different flavors while we decided. Ended up getting 5 different flavors in cones. Tried to get the smallest size as it was before dinner and it was plenty for us. The recreates were delicious. The cookies and cream and the espresso flakes were really good and crowd favorites. The superhero was also very good and reminiscent of Superman flavor that you normally see at ice cream shops like these. If you are in the city or visiting Regina, like ice cream, this is definitely a spot to put on your list. read more

Hands down best place in Regina to get Ice Cream. They have an awesome variety which include over 50 types of hard ice cream. Other options would be soft ice cream, blizzard types, pop corn, hot dogs and ice cream cakes. Love Love Love this place and would recommend it to anyone! This was my first trip to the Milky way and I've got to say that despite the obvious popularity as evidenced by the long lines down the block to buy ice cream, despite the approximately 50 flavours offered, and despite the fact that I rather enjoyed my banana flavoured soft-serve ice cream, I was disappointed. I was disappointed for one simple reason: they didn't make their own ice cream. From what I could see on their menu board, they offered ice cream made by Breyer's, Chapman's and Nestle. I could have purchased that just about anywhere. If I'm going to wait in line for 20 minutes for a couple scoops of ice cream, it better be amazing. This was just average. read more

Milky Way is a Regina institution. It typically has long lines when it opens in spring and on warm summer days. The location allows you to drive up Victoria Avenue, park and take a few steps to the walkup window. It is unchanging. They serve around 50 flavours of hard ice cream, but are probably better known for their daily flavour of soft serve. My wife will always check the flavour of the day sign when we drive past. If the posted flavour is one of her favourites...you can be sure we'll need to stop. read more

Awful. Awful. Awful. I used to think this place was good but everything about my latest visits have been terrible The soft-service ice cream is too creamy -- and I never thought I'd say that. It's so creamy to the point that it literally has no flavour. It's as if they forgot it is supposed to be a treat. The toppings they put on the ice cream are also not very good. Caramel seems to be caramel coloured glue with no flavour. I ended up throwing the dessert out after only a few bites. What a waste of $7. Not to mention... cash only???? This place has a vintage feel to it and the comfort of feel good ice cream. With the crowds and attraction of people that surround this place, it's a definite must try place! Heavenly. To the reviewer who said the ice cream was too creamy I wonder if that is even possible. This place is divine. Yesterday I was in Bismark, ND and was looking for a local creamery and was incredibly disappointed when there was not one to be found. Today Regina made up for the sins of Bismark and then some. I can only say I am glad I don't live in Regina as I would gain some substantial creamy ice creamery poundage. Well done Canada! read more

My husband loves their ice cream. It is consistant, tastes good on a hot day, and they give you large scoops of ice cream. He says certain people expect too much... And that Dan T should make his own ice cream! My son likes their coffee milk shakes a lot. My daughter likes the kid size with a gummy bear on top! I am allergic to ice cream but we live nearby and everyone I know has nothing but good things to say about Milky Way. I did think it was weird that everyone loves them so much when it is all big brand names, but as my hubby points out, they have a larger selection of flavours than you will find anywhere else. So good I went here 5 times in first week I moved to Regina...and I don't even love ice cream

We usually get our ice cream treats at Polar Palace. They're great and its rarely too busy. Today we stopped at Milky Way because we were in the area. We left without getting our treats due to the attitude of the GIRLS serving us. When I am paying good money for a product, I expect the customer service to be in line with what they are offering. If that isn't great, then I do not return. My rating is on the customer service as we chose not to try the ice cream. It will be Polar Palace for us from now on! read more
