My wife, myself and a group of around 20 people had dinner here last night, staff is very friendly, but the food is way over priced for the quality and amount of time to get your food. From the time the first person received there order to the last person it was close to a hour. We ordered two burgers well done, one came well done one was totally raw, they took it back and another came out totally raw... like I said way to expensive for the quality of food. We were in Longview to visit our daughter and came here for dinner. The service was a bit slow at first but picked up and our meals came out and looked great. The food was good for the price, the booths had some games to play with if you wanted to, we ejoyed the food so much that we came back the following day for lunch and had a wonderful meal. This will be the last time my friends and I will patron this establishment. We reserved a table for 12 people for New years Eve. (We were not the only large group in there). I'm assuming management knew how busy they would be from the reservations list. Our service and waitress was terrible from the get-go. She was extremely frazzled and very unfriendly. Had she said in the beginning that they were under-staffed and to just bear with her, we would have understood. She brought us drinks we did not order, then was perturbed that we didn't want them . 3 people at our table did not receive their dinner or salads, but she didn't know that because she never came back to check on us. When we did get her attention she acted liked we were bothering her. Again, had she been polite we would have been more understanding. Shame on management for not bringing in a few more people to help out for a couple of hours during the busy period. (But that does not excuse our waitress for being so rude). read more

Love this place. The nachos are great here. Every time we have come here the staff has been great to us. James was our last server and he is amazing. Service was awful. Stood in front of the bar for over five minutes and was ignored by all bar staff. The place was not even busy. I was told later that the bartender was angry that we were coming upstairs to get our own drinks, because the poor, overworked waitress assigned to our party was not able to fill drink orders in a timely manner (she had to run up stairs to get them and return). Food was not bad at all and service has always been prompt. My only issue is if your serving brick oven pizza please learn how to do it right. The last time we were there I ordered the extra pepperoni pizza. There were only 10 pieces of pepperoni on the whole thing. Crust was burnt on the edges and raw in the middle. Pretty disappointed. I was really excited to have some crab during the "crab extravaganza". To my dismay, $14.50 got me a single piece of toast with a modest amount of crab and melted cheese along with a side salad. Crab melt was a bust. My wife had the crab salad, again,M with perhaps 2 table spoons of crab. $45 later, seemed more like an overpriced crab-teaser event. On a bright note, our server was great!! read more

The food was ok, my son and I sat at the bar on a slow Sunday night. The waitress was busy talking to someone she knew at the bar, no big deal, because it was slow, but the thing that irritated me the most was the food was mediocre, and at the time I paid, I signed my receipt (paid by card), and then tipped the bartender in cash, well more than the usual 20 percent, because I myself am a bartender. She was at the bar complaining to her friend that she couldn't find any place to rent, because everything is so expensive, fast forward 2 days later I get home from my trip, I live in Arizona (went to visit my granddaughter) And she added 10.00 dollars onto my credit card receipt, I called and talked to the manager, and she did not seem surprised by this at all, and offered me a gift certificate, instead of reversing the 10.00 on my card( she is supposed to be sending me a check) I don't live in the area so that does me no good. So bottom line, mediocre food, bad service, and the bartender is a thief, watch your credit card bill. read more

First couple of experiences weren't great, but recently I've become a fan! Great food, I had the Mill City Chargrilled Burger and BBQ Wings. Both were very good. The Burger had some tasty blue cheese spread. I'd recommend a week night until they get a handle on things for the weekends. read more

Went in today for a Bloody Mary ((Not) as soon as I made eye contact with a guy worker I said hello I got no response, headed up stairs sat at bar for 5 min had to Go back down stairs to find a bartender, same guy that made eye contact waited on me & my friend asked for Bloody Mary he said he didn't know how to make them & went into a story about those are hang over drinks & he prefers to just drink water I was not hung over & was very upset at his comment & bad service. The owner needs to know what their business is doing when they are not there. This was a nice stop. The food portions were very good, got a full belly for sure. The quality was just right for a pub type place, so don't expect any boutique flavor to it. My kid with a special diet did well as the server matched what we needed. Only issue I had was the server appeared to forget we were there when I was looking to leave, perhaps a short change was occurring, and seemed to get real busy near the end of our visit. This place had only been open six weeks when we tried it. Nice roomy dining area. Casual, including a big screen TV. Good choices on the menu. I had Buffaloaf; meatloaf made from buffalo, served over mashed potatoes with carrots on side. A good tasting meal. My wife had pulled pork tacos which presented nicely. It included three large tacos and she thought they were delicious! They have burgers, pizza, steak, and other items. I was pleased with our dinner and look forward to trying other things there. First time there.. Nice size room for at least 20-30 people. Lunch was just ok.. The Thai Chicken salad left alot to be desired.. Gobs of chicken, dressing just ok.. The Stew not sure what it was but it was really good. i thought Green Enchilada stew but not sure..Noticed several took at least 1/2 of their food home.. Let's dispense with the niceties. First, the service was very good, and that's important. The beer offerings are good too! I had some delicious bread sticks, but three per order is a joke. I had to order two orders, so there was enough to share. Then, I ordered the patty melt. This is where everything went South. It came with two large slices of toasted sourdough (I think? ). The beef patty barely covered one third of the bread. The cheese was so thinly sliced that it was barely noticeable, and it wasn't melted. There were a few slices of barely caramelized onion, and the thousand Island dressing was enough to cover thirteen salads (a slight exaggeration). When I was done eating the part that actually had burger and onions, I had a pile of thousand Island soggy toast. My un-melt came with slightly over cooked sweet potato fries..... About three orders worth. I asked for Ranch dressing as a dipping sauce, but it tasted like it came from a jar in the non-refrigerated section of a grocery store.... NOT made fresh. So, I ate the fries without the gawd-awful dipping sauce, and when I was done there was probably two orders worth left on my plate. With beers, starters and main course, my check with tip was over fifty bucks....I only had three beers! Bottom line: I don't recommend it, unless you stick to drinking. read more

This place has everything it needs to be a great restaurant except good service. -It's in a cool location. (as cool as Downtown Longview can be) -It has pretty trendy decor that ties to the Mill Town Vibe. -It is clean. -Moderately priced. -Okay food. (I do really like the salads at this place.) I've been to this restaurant several times and really only had one good experience. My beef with this place stems from the service. The service is sub par. I think many of the servers are generally pretty unexperienced. It seems like they tend to hire younger girls that don't yet fully have the confidence to be good at waiting tables. The cards are stacked against the servers in this place. Everything is extremely spread out. The kitchen is really far from the tables. The drink fountain station is really far from the tables. I think this is probably the root cause of poor and slow service. Because everything is so spread out you rarely see your waitress and if you do see her, she is 10 to 20 yards away. I know this is partially my fault as the customer I should have the confidence to shout at a girl that is 20 yards away to tell her, "I need more Tea." The business could correct this by moving where the servers type in orders to a more central location, and adding a drink station to a more central location ( I know this could mess up the hipster vibe ). The service is so slow that Unless I want to take a 2 hour long lunch break from work this place is off the list, if you have the time and you aren't hangry when you enter then it's worth checking out. A really bad experience: My wife and I were waiting for our food to arrive and a couple of bums were in the restaurant harassing customers. I saw them talking to a couple of people sitting and I thought they knew each other and initially I thought that the bums were actually customers, until the bums approached my table. They had some sob story about a relative in the hospital and wanted me to give them money. They had a candle that they purchased from Walmart and they wanted me to give them $5.00 dollars for it. I didn't come to Mill City Grill to buy a candle, I came there to eat. The situation was extremely awkward and can't imagine it happening at Applebee's. I only had three dollars cash. I told them that I didn't have $5, I only had $3, but they persisted and wouldn't go away. It was an awkward 5 minutes. I gave them the three dollars in my wallet and they left. I was also fairly uncomfortable in this situation because the two bums, were a man and woman. The man was around 250 pounds. I was trapped in a booth, he was standing. The situation was tense and intimidating. That's not the kind of experience you want when you are trying to take your wife out to dinner. Our server was aware of what was going on and apologized, but she didn't ask the people to leave. It was infuriating! The one Good Experience: The restaurant was closed, but the bar was still open. My wife and I were starving, and it was late so we sat in the bar. We ordered a bottle of wine and some salads. The salads were on the restaurant menu, not on the bar menu, and our server was able to weasle the kitchen into making them. Our server was fast and attentive to our needs. read more

I was excited to try this place because it got great reviews and there are few places to eat in this town. I was here on business and went with my colleagues to eat here. I had the southwest chicken salad. Honestly I didn't love it. The rotisserie chicken seemed appealing on the menu but when I got it on my salad it was just above freezing and flavorless. Server was attentive and nice. Place looked pretty tidy and clean. Ordered the Thai chicken wrap and it was cold soggy pre cooked chicken that was super dry. There was barely any slaw in it so as much as I love that they filled my wrap with chicken, I love the crunch factor of biting into a wrap that has both elements. I am very impressed at what Mill City Grill had to offer! I was looking for a place to book for a group reservation for a conference meeting and presentation. I was able to talk and communicate with their manager and owner who were very professional, easy to communicate with, and were very willing to cater to us. Their space was perfect, service was excellent, and everyone loved their meals. I can go on...what can I say? 5 out of 5. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely go back to Mill City Grill in the future. read more
