One night I had the chicken fried steak. It was cooked well and wasn't tough. The fried batter was well seasoned and the gravy was rich and thick. I also had a salad and all of the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The second night I had a rib eye steak with a twice baked potato. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was flavorful and well prepared. It was a bit slow that night and the chef even came out and talked to us. It was a super nice thing for him to do and he seemed like a cool guy. There's also an attached bar, and they have many great local brews on draft. With friendly service and solid options for food, this is the place to eat in Sheridan.

When we saw Iron Horse Cafe, we crossed our fingers and pulled over. While they didn't have a huckleberry pie, they did have a great selection of homemade options (see photo) and since I can never pass up a rhubarb pie, I got their strawberry rhubarb. It was chunky and delicious with sweet and sour flavor and the crust was to die for! It was so good I had to steal it back from my husband. The cafe is really cute and was full of people, but unfortunately we learned that the owners will be retiring and this great stop will be closing down in just a few weeks. So I suggest everybody stop in and get a taste of the homemade goodness while you still can!
