How I love blueberry season! Every farm is different so check out their Facebook page for pick your own fruit PYO. Unfortunately, I missed out on their blackberry season that happened in May. In addition to the blueberries that were available for picking, peaches were sold in bushels placed on a table in their "store". Sometimes the owners are there to receive the money, and other times they run a honor system. Pencils were provided to write on the envelope to place it into the wooden box. The prices and size were posted on a sign the minute you walk inside. They were very reasonable, and fair compared to other farms. It was a hot sunny day, so the hubs picked quickly, since he tends to get sunburned and cranky lol. I'm the opposite, so I picked to my hearts content:) The blueberries were fresh and smaller than I'm used to. It tasted sweet and a little tart. The best part of it all, was that it was organic! Nowadays everything is sprayed, but this farm doesn't do that:) We revisited a few more times for picking. I knew the season was coming to a close, and needed some more to freeze. I made some cakes, and muffins out of the blueberries which lasted a few days. I sort of wished, I picked a large bucketful, cause as I'm writing this there is no more in the freezer. We had a wonderful time picking blueberries! Mill Farm made it very easy for us to pay, pick and go. Originally, we were going to do one gallon but then switched to two quarts so we could split up and pick. They are cash only, so make sure to bring cash with you. There were so many blueberries to pick from. Rows and rows of ones that were ready to pick and others that should be ready in a week or so. There were a lot of flies and bees, so be cautious if you're allergic, but they didn't not bother us. read more

We love blueberry picking, and Mill Farm has rows and rows of bushes at our height and taller filled with luscious blueberries. This was our second time visiting. We were last here in 2021. During this visit, we easily picked a half gallon of blueberries. Blueberry picking goes pretty fast, so you can plan other activities for your day. The farm is easy to find just a few minutes off Rt. 64's Croaker exit. The farm accepts cash only, and you pay on the honor system--telling them how much you picked, or by putting the money in an honor box. If you don want to pick berries, you can purchase pre-picked berries. Prices were $10 for a half gallon and $5 for a quart if you picked your own. If you want pre-picked, they are $5 a pint. They also had blackberries that were just ripening for picking. Some folks were able to fill quarts with blackberries, but most weren't quite ready yet. The farm also sells pre-picked peaches, which seemed a bit hard to me right now. We had a great time, and we highly recommend! read more

Long time buyer of Christmas Trees. They have a good selection of trees to cut and precut trees. Service and staff are usually very good but not this year. We had some questions on trees to cut, question range from the type of pine and the color was a bit off from other pines through out a number of trees. Also when we selected the tree and asked to cut it down they put other customers ahead, selling precut vs the next person in line. Plus the staff lacked knowledge on the types of pines, Disappointed with the service and the lack of knowledge. Prior years, even when they were very busy service was better. read more

I have been looking for a farm on this side of the water. The drive to VA Beach and take a toll on ya due to the tunnel. I found this farm on Facebook and started following them. They post often. The beginning of their blueberry season had just started. They have two sides. One side was just opening. They have so much more their than blueberries. They have strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, Christmas trees and so much more. I follow their Facebook closely. They will post there. This is pretty much an honor system picking. Park, go into the shed and grab your basket to use. There is a box to place your check or cash there. Sometimes there is someone there to answer questions. read more

This farm was one of the only ones close to us that was open this year for 2021 Strawberry Picking. A lot were out in VA Beach. They are good with updating their Facebook page to let you know how the crops are doing. They offer a lot of other things like Christmas Trees, blackberries, and blueberries. The staff was super nice when we arrived as they were closing for the day since they got picked over the day prior... it was their opening day. The rows were nice and spacious. It was clean (for being outdoors). They had a 2 sinks for hand washing and required you to wash your hands prior to picking. I really loved that vs just offering hand sanitizer. The gallon was $20 and the quart was $5. I wanted 2 quarts but she said there probably wasn't enough, I could definitely come back another day. Since we had drove about 40 minutes I said we will try for the 1 quart. With the little ones to help we did find enough to fill the quart. We will definitely back back for more! read more

Pros: - beautiful area with lots of space - workers are friendly and polite - plenty of trees - things to do in other seasons - cute little shack/shop Cons: - I've never seen a Christmas tree farm that lets people claim trees, it was always first come first served. It's really annoying trying to find a tree and all of the descent ones are called for - needs landscaping or something, we were covered in seeds pods, there was poison ivy growing into some of the trees, needed mowing - trees weren't super well shaped, seemed a little malnourished - maybe just the tree I got but when I got the tree home I noticed it was COVERED in little black eggs. Being that I've never gone to a Christmas tree farm (sad, I know) I was especially eager - as in, Christmas and birthday all into one - which was very appropriate for the occasion. All I knew about these farms before I had seen on the The O.C.'s episode of their incredible Christmukkah (still the best tv show ever made, and thank you Seth Cohen) so it is clear I didn't know much at all. It was even better than I had imagined it. It was a bit chilly, but you'd expect that around Christmas time. I had a blast picking and choosing from all sorts of different Christmas trees and thought was hilarious how families mark their likes with special ribbons, and even pieces of clothing (my absolute favorite - which is what we did). This made me giggle. It was one of those silly but absolutely magical moments that are here to stay. And the tree ended up being wayyy bigger than we thought - which turned out to be a challenge to set up. But as for the farm, 5 stars for sure. We even had a helpful and super nice lady (and a badass I might add) carry our tree and talk is through it. read more

We had gotten a Christmas tree here a few years ago, which was a lot of fun. Reminded me of when I was a kid and my dad and I would go into the woods, tromping through 2' foot snow drifts to find a tree. Today we went to pick berries. Unfortunately all the strawberries were gone. The blueberries were almost ripe, but we picked some anyway. You have a choice of Small, Medium, or Large containers: small is a pint ($2), medium is a quart ($4), large is a gallon ($15). THEY ONLY TAKE CASH OR CHECK. Very friendly staff. It was pretty dead when I went blueberry picking on 8/9. The blueberries were still ripening but there was still enough to pick as you can see in the picture. I recommend checking their Facebook page before going out to view what is available for u-pick options. They had a contactless payment on the honor system. They also provided containers for picking. Parking was a bit confusing but we just parked right next to the small wooden shack which is where you pay and pick up your containers for picking. Probably spent 20min total there. Having moved to Williamsburg within the past year, my parents were in search of a place that sold Christmas trees at reasonable prices. We found this place through an ad they had put together for the local newspaper, so my parents and I figured we'd give them a shot. So we all load up in my dad's truck and lumber off to the Christmas tree lot. We first pull in (using the simply yet effective directions this place gave us), but were confused when we first saw grape vines and not Christmas trees. Not only does this place have acres of Christmas trees ranging in size from wee little babies to 30-foot tall bad boys, but they also plant: grapes, strawberries, and blueberries. Just leave me here and I'd be a happy camper! We wander around helplessly for a couple of minutes, but then some nice guy asks us if we're looking for anything in particular. We explain that we're looking for some sort of long-needled Christmas tree and he points out to where the pre-cut Douglas firs are located. After a few more minutes of wandering around and deciding on a tree, we tell the guy which one we want and he gladly picks it up and carries it to our truck. All we need to do is go inside and pay the cashier in the little cabin on the property. That simple! And for something like $30 for a 7-foot tall tree, that's something like half of what I was expecting to pay! Not only was was the process that easy, but the people were more than friendly throughout the whole thing. The next day my parents and I are walking through the Williamsburg farmers' market, and sure enough, the same cashier lady who helped us buy our tree the previous day was out at the market selling decorative wreaths for the season (and telling everyone about their AWESOME service). This is exactly the kind of local business we all should support and encourage others after which to model themselves. read more

A lovely little farm just minutes from downtown Williamsburg. Prices are fantastic, ranging from $5-$7 per foot. My family and I had a wonderful time walking around to find just the right tree for us. Can't wait to go back when the blueberries are in season. FYI: Cash or Check only read more

I love Mill Farm! My Husband and I have went to get our Christmas tree here for the past 2 years since we've been in VA. The location is in the country, but GPS will guide you directly there. They have a good assortment of trees, and starting the day after Halloween you can go tag your tree and then cut it down starting Black Friday. The attendants are very kind and helpful. The trees are around $6-$8 a foot depending on the type. They also have handmade wreaths for sale. And if you get cold while walking around looking for your perfect tree, they have free hot chocolate in the office! In the summer they have strawberries, blackberries and blueberries for picking. The pre-cut trees they brought in were okay. The lot is sparse as it is, and the few properly shaped trees that were there were already tagged and being held. Not a huge selection of trees as it is and th customer service is lacking. I'm 9 months pregnant (very obviously so) and when i asked if I could use their restroom, I was told to go to a 7/11 down the road. We left without buying a tree. Only reason it gets 2 stars is because its one of the few places around (that i could find) where you can actually go out to the farm for your tree. We're getting our tree from the Trees for Troops program on Friday instead. Totally bummed by our experience. read more
