It's a mobile home park so I wasn't expecting the Ritz, but things have been downright miserable since skunks moved in, especially since we were all stuck here during the pandemic, getting gas bombed almost every other day, sometimes multiple times per night. Things improved somewhat as people took remedial action around and under their homes, but skunks always find another way in. I have been awake for hours because of another blast - almost every other day for weeks. Management blames the high cost of skunk removal and California law for not being more proactive. They are not entirely wrong about this - human quality of life and health is not as important as urban wildlife which decided to move in later, right? Sleep deprivation is a method of torture. I feel like I'm being punished for something I didn't do. I have towels under inside and outside doors trying to stave off the stench, but it's so close and strong that it seeps in everywhere and of course my home is not hermetically sealed. Since the stink dissipates more quickly outside than inside, after about an hour, I need to open doors and windows and turn on all the fans to blow out the stench. It's the middle of winter. I'm freezing right now. Glancing through the recent glowing reviews, I give side eye to the suspiciously obsequious praise for current management. Some of their "improvements" have resulted in harassment from the park's neighboring tenant who was also affected. Management assured me that certain features altered by the park would be restored. I waited patiently for months with no further communications or updates, only to be told recently that I would have to personally bear the expense of restoring said features, which I will not be able to afford for months, if at all. I pay my rent on time and mind my own business. I had no notable issues with previous management, but I have had the misfortune of having to deal with current management much more in the past year. Their promises of improvement have only resulted in backfiring on me, with insinuations of condemnation for my small, good faith attempts to even slightly improve my situation and assertions of arbitrary and vague "rules" (which are never in my favor, naturally). Also, the manager seems to have favorites who are allowed to selectively harass other residents with seemingly no consequence; the targeted resident is the one accused of wrongdoing when attempting to gather evidence or mount a defense, framed as a "friendly reminder". There are also rumors swirling of attempts to push out long time residents using multiple and dubious "rule violations". I suppose they are seeking residents who enjoy the stench without the high - "It's a feature, not a bug!" - assuming potential residents are even advised. It gets two stars for being relatively clean (with NOTABLE exception) and reasonably safe from outsiders - but inside issues are many and varied. Since I still have to live here, I have left out certain details; however, based on the content of this review alone, it is highly likely I will be doxed and experience retaliation, but I'm too tired to care.
