Once work began, the assigned crew would show up intermittently and the work progressed at a snail's pace. There were many excuses, namely that the supervisor was unable to be on site to manage the team. To Keith R's credit, he intervened with management and was successful in replacing the first crew with an experienced crew. The new crew took a look at the existing patio and recommended tearing it out and starting over. Well done on their part. Messenger's agreed and installed a new patio. We were guaranteed a two year warranty on the project - in writing. In 2023 we made many attempts to have them come out and fix settling and water ponding issues as well as replacing dead landscape plants. Additionally we raised concerns that the steps were settling and pulling away from the patio. My husband worked directly with Rob B who reassured us these things would be taken care of under warranty. It was brutal trying to get anything scheduled. Again, the supervisor was blamed for the issues by the office. Eventually at the end of the summer, the settling and ponding issues were repaired and a few of the plant's replaced. We were told the steps could be taken care of in 2024 as we had a 2 year warranty. We reached out to Rob B on 5/28/24 to begin that process for the steps. We were told via email that work would begin the following Monday (6/3). To date we have had no response from anyone at Messengers. We eventually contacted the BBB and filed a complaint. BBB had no more success in getting a response than we did. My only recourse is to post this review in the hope that other consumers don't fall into the same trap. Leave mowing to Messengers but don't trust them on anything more permanent. Our $26,000 was not well spent. Save yourself the hassle and disappointment.

The soil and roots were exposed and then she put sod around the bottom of the cliff. Then near the end of the project She tried to move a sprinkler head and it came off at the elbow. The crew tried to fnd the pipe and tore up the bed. I paid an individual $160 to fix the head, the pipe she broke and to move a head the crew had not moved in another new bed. She only had one bush left to plant and to mulch the bed. She said I was rude and blamed everything on her. I had already paid her in full and had not asked for her to pay for the sprinkler bill. Tammy can be very nice but there are two sides of her. SHE REFUSED TO HONOR HER CONTRACT AND NEVER CAME BACK! BEWARE!

Needed 9 cubic yards of dirt for a landscaping project and Johnson County Topsoil delivered…read more(literally!). They had a few options for soil as well one was straight pulverized topsoil ($31/cuyd), next was a 50/50 blend of topsoil and manure ($33/cuyd) and last was a mixture of 1/3 pulverized topsoil, 1/3 compost, 1/6 aged manure, and 1/6 sand (garden mix, $36/cuyd). Since were using this dirt for a flower garden and a vegetable garden we went with the latter offering. The dirt was very clean (in 9 yards I found one tin can and maybe one larger rock) and it was mixed well. Their website is very helpful and has accurate pricing along with delivery charges for the different areas of town. When I called they were very courteous on the phone even when I called to switch days because it was raining. The driver called to verify my address as well as where to put the dirt. Very satisfied with this place!

This story begins with scheduling the removal of an old sweet gum tree from my front yard. I needed…read moreto find an irrigation company to come out soon after the tree was removed to activate my system this Spring and make sure there were no issues caused by the tree removal - timing was a big deal. After getting bids from several companies and trying to get on someone's schedule, I was contacted by Reeves Irrigation with an offer to activate my system that worked when I needed it to be accomplished - and for a VERY reasonable price. I had some exchanges with Tyler (the owner) and learned that while this was his second year out on his own, he had previous irrigation experience with other employers. Since I was just after an activation and to make sure the zone where the tree was didn't have any damage, I decided to take a chance on his company - I'm glad I did! He showed up on time, did a full inspection of the system and noted a few heads that were leaking (which I already knew about from my activation last year). I also made him aware of a leaking pipe underground near the curb that would need to be addressed and fixed at some point as well. "Some point" turned out to be during his visit as he had the necessary materials to fix the issue after he exposed the pipe to discover the lateral crack that it had. While he was there, I also had him replace the leaking heads from last year - he even made time to relocate one of the heads from a plant bed to the lawn. When finished, he did a zone inspection again to make sure everything was adjusted and operating correctly while making some minor adjustments to a few heads. Before he left, I discussed getting a different controller that could be operated remotely via WiFi. We discussed various options, and I am having him out again in a couple of weeks to put a new (modern) controller in. In closing let me say that my Hunter irrigation system has been in use for around 20 years or so. Over the past two decades I have used numerous companies to service my irrigation needs. Very few are companies that I wanted to keep as service providers...either due to results, price (or both). Furthermore, when I was lucky enough to find a tech that I felt comfortable with, I was never guaranteed that I would get him again as many switch companies, relocate or just get out of the business altogether. Two of my former favorite irrigation companies are no longer in the business, and it's been a struggle to find a company to replace them...until now. If you have an irrigation system that needs to be activated or serviced, I highly recommend that you give Reeves Irrigation a shout. Like me, I think you will be very happy that you did!
