What a wonderfully run practice. I was long overdue for an eye exam and found this practice through my own bit of research. I'm very happy I did, as Dr. Michaels and his team were great. It was a cascading series of events. First the doctor screwed up the prescription, so the glasses that were delivered were wrong. Wore them for a couple of weeks trying to "get my brain used to them", which was a disaster. Returned them, they discovered the mistake. Sent them off to get another pair. Came back two weeks later and the second pair was also incorrect. Had to send them back to the lab with the promise of "we will expedite this and get them in a day or two". Well that didn't happen. Finally two weeks later I got the correct pair. So far no attempt to keep my business after all this. read more

Dr Lodl is great but I have an issue when Mary at the front desk forces you to pay money you don't owe. I have hit my out-of-pocket for the year and showed her that and she said it didn't matter I still had to pay the co-pay even though I no longer have co-pays for the year. She was rude and making sighing sounds like she couldn't be bothered. No one should have to pay this place money that they don't owe. Completely unprofessional and not a way to run things. I had an eye exam scheduled elsewhere and walked in and walked right out. After doing some research and many reccomendations, this is where I was led. I am so very thankful for the staff and service. I took my 2.5 year old son here for his first eye care visit and we'll never be back. We were there for nearly 2 hours most of that time was spent waiting. He ended up having to get his eyes dilated which they had us go back out to the waiting room for 20 more minutes to give his eyes time to fully dilate. After30 plus more minutes of trying to keep a extremely restless child entertained and to keep him from touching everything, I finally asked the receptionist if she could check and see how much longer it would be. She came back and said it's going to be a few more minutes. At this point my son is beyond done waiting he's screaming I just say we're going to have to reschedule and I take my son to the van. After a few minutes in the van my son seemed calm enough to try again, I really didn't want him to have to come back and get his eyes dilated again. So we went back in only to hear the receptionist talking about us to her coworkers this went on for a few more minutes before she realized we were at the front desk. I confronted her about talking about us and how that is not great customer service and all she said she felt bad for my son. When we finally saw the Dr. after another 10 minute wait and I told her about my experience, she didn't seem shocked by her receptionist's behavior nor did she apologize. She basically defended her by saying I just needed to "bite the bullet" and just waited. As I mentioned before, this was his FIRST eye appointment and we did not know what to expect. We had no idea how much longer he had after the dilation. Horrible experience. Horrible service. Will never go back. read more

Had an incident with my dog where he scratched my eye. ended up being a lacerated cornea, VERY painful. I was able to contact Millard Family Eyecare and get in same day. Staff was VERY helpful and friendly, and Dr. Michaels was exceptional. He was thorough, followed up with me after providing contact bandage, and even came in on his day off to remove the bandage the next day. 10/10 service! read more

I went here for about 2 years before switching to a better eye doctor. They could not get my prescription correct. I complained 3 times to one of the doctors that I couldn't see properly and they refused to change my prescription and just told me "that's as good as it's going to get". Well, I switched eye doctors - got a new prescription (that was drastically different than what Millard Family Eye gave me) and could see perfectly. One of the doctor's was also quite rude to me. During an appointment I made a comment that an ad they had in the exam room advertising a service they were providing was not accurate. The doctor responded to my small comment aggressively and demeaned/made fun of me in what seemed mostly like an attempt to "put me in my place" for pointing out a problem with their ad. I have been going to Millard Family Care for years. I love Dr. Michaels. However the office staff could improve. I received a text reminding me I was due for my yearly exam. I called twice to schedule an appointment and left messages both times as no one in the office answered the phone. I had to call a third time to schedule the appointment. When I inquired why no one called me back after leaving two messages, a reason was not given. Disappointing. read more

I have small children and finding providers that are patient with them and informative can be hard. I have been impressed each time I have taken my children there and will be switching my treatment over to them as well. From start to finish the staff was kind and thorough. I called Millard Family Eyecare because my daughter's glasses are broke, and not able to be fixed due to a dog chewing them up. Being a loyal customer of theirs, I knew they would take care of me. Nope! I was wrong. After explaining my situation, it was determined to get an appointment to obtain a new prescription, rather than have glasses made with her old prescription. They can get her in a month from now. That's what I get for being a loyal customer? An appointment a month later, meanwhile my daughter has NO GLASSES to wear. I've always been satisfied when going to Millard Family Eyecare. The Rx was always correct, and the service was great. Yeah, I had to pay more than the insurance allowed for the glasses I wanted. I was going to say that the only reason I'm not going there any longer is that they don't take the insurance that I now have, but I just called and am going to pay for an exam (a refractor, I believe it's called) my self, a whopping $34!!, because the eye place my insurance covers now didn't get the Rx right on my new glasses. read more

I saw Dr Gonka and she was amazing, she was not intimidating and you can tell she wanted to take the time to work with me instead of rushing me through the eye test, she was VERY friendly too! The only complaint I have is for everybody else in the office. They rush you as if it was a competition who can get their client done first. In the beginning, before I see the doctor, when I do all those eye tests with the machines, there was no explanation of what exactly the machine was testing on my eyes and why I was doing it. Then later when I was picking out eyeglasses, I had little explanation of certain brands & prices. It was more of a hurry up & pick your glasses. After that being said, they all are knowledgeable and know what they're doing which is a plus. read more

Above and beyond my expectations! Easy to make an appt, easy to use insurance (VSP), warm friendly greeting and their technology is far above any I've seen for eye care. My doctor, Dr. Desinee Drakulich, and the doctor's assistance were extremely knowledgable and I never felt pressured to take my eye care in a particular direction. Dr. Designee Drakulich also recommended that I try my contacts for a few days to make sure the prescription and comfort were correct for me before ordering. Very helpful staff, Dr. Drakulich was very thorough and gave me an opportunity to ask questions. My visit was covered by insurance but there was an option to purchase a $39 retina exam, they will do it anyway and only charge if you want them to review it. I opted for the alternative since the doctor didn't express seeing anything concerning; I decided for the traditional dilation to look at the retina's health. There was a good variety of frames, a bit expensive but insurance covered over 50% of the cost. Overall a good experience, not a 5 because I have to wait 2 weeks for my glasses and my last place gave them to me on the spot. read more

I'd been going to For Your Eyes Only for the past 10 years and when they were bought by Millard Family Eyecare I figured I'd check them out. After my first appointment, I chose a new pair of glasses and left feeling pretty satisfied. However, when I returned to pick up my glasses everything I saw out of the left lens was blurry and when I told them it wasn't clear I was told my eyes needed time to adjust. 2 weeks later, I still couldn't see well out of that side so I returned, only to find out the manufacturer had sent the wrong prescription for that lens. So I had to wait several more weeks to get my new glasses. When they finally came they did not adjust the glasses to make sure they fit straight on my face, they gave them to me and left to handle other customers. So, I had to return again to get them fitted. They never got them adjusted to fit me correctly and I really just didn't want to go back for the fourth time. I've had better experiences. read more

I have been going to the Optometrists at Millard Family Eyecare for years. I have seen all three optometrists over the years and all are excellent. The staff is professional and friendly, greeting me by name when I arrived. The new retinal exam they provide (costs a minimal $39 extra) is used instead of dilating the eyes and lets you see an image of your retina. The optometrist will explain what he/she sees on the image. This is a great way to learn about eye health and the importance of being aware of the integrity of your retina as you age. Highly recommend this office and eyecare professionals. read more

I took my children for their first ever eye exams (they are 2 1/2 and 3 1/2). Dr Weiss was wonderful with them and was able to complete a thorough exam on both. The office staff was very good with my boys and they even had fun (which is important to me because my only experience at the eye doctor as a child was terrifying so I avoided it for 20+ years.
