After being a patient for about 10 years I was treated unethically, & unprofessionally on a few occasions. Dr. Coleman lied about my MRI results. Dr. C came into the room & asked, what are we injecting today? I told him I was there for a consultation. He said, nope I don't do consults on my procedure days, & won't talk. How rude & ridiculous! I don't even believe there are consult days or procedure days. He just didn't want to talk to me because I applied for disability. They are so unorganized I had an appointment before that to get my MRI results, but I ended up being scheduled at the wrong location which was their South County location, & figured that out once I showed up to see the office was closed at the Saint Peters location. After Dr. C told me he wasn't talking, I then told him I was just there for my MRI results. He sighed then only glanced at the first page, but there were six pages, & said, you only have bulging discs, a certain % of people in the world have bulging discs, & I doubt you are in that much pain from it. You are young, & you'll be fine. I was dumbfounded. He is condescending & discriminates against me because of my age. They do the bare minimum, & take no initiative for their patients. You never know the price of the procedures beforehand, & get surprised with the amount after being billed. I have to call before every procedure to ask them to please do their job since they can't mark a calendar, & please check my procedures don't need prior authorizations through insurance. I was denied my procedure due to miscommunication between their office, & the billing department. They billed insurance from the year before, & not my new insurance after I have already given them the new card twice, & put down all the new insurance information in my new patient paperwork of the year. I show up for my appointment, & the woman working the desk asks if I called them about my account. I said I just talked to someone in the billing department & they said they submitted the bill to my insurance since it never was submitted to my current insurance. I also got a call from someone saying I was good to go for this appointment. She asked who I talked to, & what number I called. She said you can call your insurance & have them make a payment. I'm sure this is not normal protocol that the patient calls insurance for payment. It's not like I wasn't paying my bills or behind on them. I have always paid them on time, but because of their errors internally they didn't bill it correctly. Why did they call, & tell me I was okay to go to this appointment after I specifically asked? I asked if someone call the billing department or insurance now to verify if that's what you need. She said no it might take up to a month. My driver asked me what the woman up front said, & I told my driver she said no it could take a month. Then the office lady yells at me, I didn't say that! I was startled after this, & said. ok, what did you say? She said, I said it Might take a month! That's pretty much the same thing. It was very embarrassing & how unprofessional to be yelling at a patient in the waiting room. Very aggressive, and argumentative instead of trying to be compassionate and helpful. I said, what do I need to do on my end to get this solved?. She said, nothing, & I'll call you. I said, how long until I can expect a call? She said, I don't know it could be one hour, it could be next week, it could be two hours I don't know. That doesn't reassure me that what I thought was already taken care of it actually going to get taken care of. Later that afternoon I had three missed calls from their billing department with no voicemail. I called back told them they said my bill was never submitted to insurance so they turned me away. The billing person told me I should have still been seen. Another time during a radiofrequency procedure I say ow as it was very painful. Dr. C said, Oh someone has gotten more vocal, haven't they. He dismissed my pain, & was mocking me instead of consoling me. read more
