Let me start off by saying that Yellow Brick Road has been a wonderful preschool and daycare for…read moremy daughter. She started off when she was three years old Mrs. Sandy worked with her for one Year. My daughter loved her so much that when she left temporarily she got so sad and would ask about her every single day it felt like family .Mrs. Karen and all the staff are amazing . This summer she was moved up to the preschool age kids class with Mrs. Ronette she is a wonderful teacher my daughter has learned a lot in only two months she learned how to write her name and how to spell it and every day she comes home with beautiful daily prayers and crafts ,She even started praying at dinner time ,and now she's has the whole family doing a prayer before meals. We absolutely love this school and recommended .

This is a small town and there aren't that many child care facilities here I thought I was doing my…read morekids good by sending them to a center instead of a home daycare but after a short time at YBR they are now in a better environment with a home daycare. My first red flag should have been that they had the kids playing outside when there were advisories to stay in because of the poor air quality from the fires. I'm only going to review the experience that I had directly with this center because I often had a relative who would pick up and drop off the kids for me. The plus is that they provide transportation from the schools, they have a third party (mom and daughter) who have a van and pick kids up from the different schools and bring them to YBR for after school care. The times that I went in to the center myself, it was just my observation that none of the teachers looked happy, including the program director, Karen. That should have been my second red flag, but I thought maybe it was just early that they are tired. The thing that made me stop bringing my kids here is that their communication isn't the greatest they could improve on how they let parent's know when their kids are running low on diapers or other materials that they need to make them comfortable throughout the day. That said, my son ran out of diapers and no one called us to come bring him any he had pooped and they left him in a dirty diaper for so long that his entire bottom was red and irritated he cried when I gave him a bath because it hurt. I put my 2 weeks in right away and literally felt sick with worry the whole time they were there. After giving my 2 weeks and letting Karen know why she responded and said that they had gone out to play he must have pooped out there and when he was picked up no one checked him before leaving. That would have been believable except for how severe my sons bottom was inflamed and his BM dried and was very stuck to his butt it seemed that he was that way for a long time. In any case, if that is really what happened to him, in my opinion, and with my experiences with other child care providers, a better response would have been to apologize and let the parent know how they are going to avoid something like that happening (ie. next time we will be sure to check children before they leave or at least offer to change before leaving) instead of making excuses. I hope YBR does better I wouldn't want this happening to someone else's child.

We just get a mass email with limited information and told to call with questions yet no one is ever there to answer the phone regardless of the time being called. Very discouraging to the parents to be left out here with no way of getting questions answered or help in a timely manner. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because my daughters teacher was amazing before the homeschooling. Thank you Mr. Duni for everything you did.

After a little bit of investigating, I found out that his teacher (2nd grade) was receiving cell phone calls during class time. The conversations were inappropriate for any child to hear of and the professionality of the teacher had to be questioned. Understandably, my son was worried that his teacher was going to be hurt because of what the teacher shared with the class. NO child should have to deal with this these kind of issues! To make matters worse, trying to reason with the teacher was impossible. She refused to keep her private life private. I thought that speaking with the principal would help resolve this issue, but the principal refused to assist in any way. After the principal refused to speak with the teacher, I insisted on a classroom transfer--no such luck. I was left with no other choice but to keep my son home until changes could be made. The next morning after my son was absent, I received a call from the principal, threatening me with criminal sanctions for keeping my son out of school! I had to pay a visit to the school district and file a grievance. I was immediately given a transfer to another school, but I have lost so much respect for this school district. Needless to say, Los Banos Unified will not be educating my child--EVER, nor will they ever receive my vote for increased funding. IF YOUR CHILD MUST ATTEND THIS SCHOOL AND YOU CANNOT GET A TRANSFER OR AFFORD PRIVATE SCHOOLING, BE SURE TO MAKE MANY UNANNOUNCED VISITS TO THE CLASSROOM.
