WHAT IS ACE DOING??!!!…read more I ordered an item online from Ace and needed to return it, so I went to their website (sadly I ignored my instinct not to shop at Ace because they are going extinct). Their "easy" return policy states that you must find a store and return it there or call a number. I called the number and was met with a promotional scam. The only option to get to talk to a representative was to dial "1" which brings you to a promotional department asking if you want $100. I wasn't born yesterday and I know you never get something for nothing. I said I just want to know how to return my item and so they promptly hung up on me, so I had to find a store. The nearest store was Werner's Ace, in Florida, NY, which is a 25 minute drive from my house. When I got there and said that I needed to make an online return, a very rude woman snapped at me that I have to come back tomorrow because the person who does online returns will be in tomorrow. So, of the three people behind the counter, none knew how to process a return - there is just one person specially trained LOL??!!! What are you doing guys? Do you know what year it is?

They were able to help me with polyethylene tubing that big box stores weren't able to - they cut me off a piece of tubing so I didn't have to buy 100' when I needed 10'. Friendly service, they took their time. At checkout there were a couple of old head customers to chat with who were also friendly. Reasonable prices. For being as small as the location is they have a LOT of selection.

I contacted Weber who claims to have a service referral but after 3-4 attempts I gave up. An internet search pointed me to Oakland Ace for the repair. Everyone I dealt with to schedule the repair, receive updates on when Weber would send them the parts and the service tech himself were all 5 star awesome. Superb job was done and I cannot recommend them any higher. Oakland is lucky to have this Ace in town.

If I have questions and the person at the register is unable to answer any questions, I speak to the owner who always goes above and beyond to get us what we need. We get fast and friendly service. I have never gotten any attitude from anyone who works there. It's a wonderful local business to work with.

When she went to ring it up of coarse it was the most expensive one. I said "that doesn't look like the one I have at home do you have a different one" she said yes I asked her if I could have that one instead, she got it for me slammed it on the counter and didn't shake it. She rang it up and it was half the price of the other I said "that's sounds more like what I paid last time" she said "remember you get what you pay for" I said "I painted all the moldings in my house and they look great" with a smile.
