I had great times spending the summers here, but I also remember being treated badly in the camp store and not knowing why. We always paid our bills and as far as I know we obeyed the rules. It didn't stop the owners and their daughters (save the youngest who was nice) from glaring at me or being rude or ambivalent. I remember having a few friends who also had trailers in the park, over for a bonfire, when I was a teen. I'd say maybe 15 or 16 years old, with about 4 or 5 of my friends. We were quietly hanging out around our fire pit and my mother was inside reading a book in bed. It wasn't late at all as my mom is an early sleeper. My mother is very strict and doesn't allow for noise or shenanigans. A truck pulled up on the road in front of a lot and a woman sauntered into the lot blinding us all with her flashlight (even though there's lanterns strung around and you can totally see.) She started hassling us, shining the light in our faces and demanding to know what we were drinking and what we were doing out there unsupervised. My mom heard all this and came out in her nightgown and gave her crap for hassling decent teenagers that aren't doing anything wrong. My mom was really steamed because that kind of bs happened a lot. However if you had a dead tree on your lot and you needed it taken down before a storm blew it onto your trailer, good luck! Just the other day we were trying to find a place to either rent or rent a trailer and camp. I was told by one of the owners that I wasn't allowed to rent from anyone there. I had used their camp name as an example in my searching and was sent a rude email. Totally reminded me of the kind of bull crap I experienced going to this place for a large portion of my life. The beach is small and has rocks and clay. The park is decent as is the fireworks. The old bay's are the best with the most trees between lots so you have SOME semblance of privacy. A,b,c. It's not that I don't have fond memories, but they could have been better had the owners and family not been so negative.

Lots of space everywhere. Really a nice change for US parks. This park seems very lightly used and I appreciate they follow the leave no trace guidance. One thing you know for sure, I got to be intimately familiar with the services. We took advantage of the awesome and gorgeously designed and sustainable comfort station. It's a lot of concrete, clean lines, and natural light. Lovely. We unfortunately couldn't find a family shower or wheelchair accessible shower in the main comfort station so we all had to pile in to do the kids bath but it was spacious and alright! We did laundry and explored the take a book leave a book library and had so much fun. The actual campsites are pretty big and open, it's the prairies after all, but there are also lovely trees here. And tons of cute prairie dogs. And also tons of poison ivy so watch out!
