First of all, Millie's is an established "gotta go to" if you're coming to Sarasota. The food is fabulous and consistent. The only drawback to Millie's is too many people told too many people about it and even though they handle the crowds very well it's still too many people. I observed the last time I was there. It's not like there's tables for two and four coming in. There's tables for 6, 8 and 10 coming in and this ties up everything not only the kitchen, but the white staff, which is excellent by the way, the best in town These people have been there for years, decades and they're wonderful with a smile and professionalism. They have eggs, Benedict banana pancakes. Steak and eggs, scrambled eggs, omelettes only limited by your imagination, variety of breads and biscuits and muffins. Lately, I've noticed people are ordering a danish something or other that I have to figure out what it is before they eat their breakfast it must be one of the specialty things that I don't know about anyway give yourself a treat and go to Millie's get breakfast. This place was awesome. The person who appeared to be in charge of the hostess stand was the only person who didn't give stellar customer service. We were surprised at how quickly our food came out, and tasted incredible. I also took some carryout home to my husband and his food was also terrific. I loved how fluffy and flavorful my omelet was. They definitely did not skimp on ingredients. And their home fries were the perfect blend of well cooked with crispy edges. Millie's is a Sarasota Must for breakfast! The restaurant is cozy and a little quaint - can be a little crowded at peak times but well worth the wait if there is one! They have all the major drink options covered from coffee and teas to Mimosas (which is what I opted for). I ordered the Build-Your-Own Omelette with Bacon, Onions, Mushrooms and Cheddar Cheese with Home Fries and Toast and it was delicious and a very well-sized portion. I did however have to snag a bite of my friend's pancakes - they were so good they didn't even last long enough for a picture before they started digging into them! I appreciated that the menu was full of options for any taste and occasion - I saw some smaller items, healthier choices with fruit and oatmeal but I would strongly encourage splurging while you're there, the pancakes and crepes are so good, you'll be glad you went for it! read more

Whenever we visit Sarasota, we always have breakfast at Millies. Today we're meeting family at 10:30 for a late breakfast. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and we can see the crowd outside as we park the truck. Our wait isn't that long and there are three rooms inside. The ambience is sort of country, with wood tables, plates and memorabilia hanging on the walls. Sort of like a country tea room. Our waitress Christi brings us coffee as soon as we are seated. She tells us about the specials of the day. My friend and I both ordered omelets. Mine was the Millies omelet, veggies and bacon folded into the eggs, topped with melted cheese, home fries and an english muffin on the side. His was the omelet of the day, chorizo sausage and veggies wrapped in a delicious bed of eggs, melted cheese on top, creamy grits and an English muffin. His sister had eggs Benedict which looked luscious. At Millies no matter how crowded, you can always expect a great meal with wonderful friendly service! We love supporting neighborhood businesses! I would like to start by saying Millie's has always been one of my favorite go to breakfast/lunch places in Sarasota. Today however I was disappointed. Although the food was good and my waiter was pleasant. My disappointment came when I requested a to go box and a top off on my coffee. I advised I was going to run to the restroom and would be right back. Upon return to my table, it was cleared and the second half of my favorite breakfast was in the bussers dirty dish pan. Imagine my disappointment as I usually take the second half home for tomorrow's breakfast. $25 is a bit pricey to be this disappointed. read more

This is a gem! Will be returning to try other items. My friend got the apricot stuffed french toast and it was perfect. Delicate apricot taste and the french toast was delicious. I had the spinach pie and greek salad special which was incredible. Had a side of german potato salad and it was unique but delicious. I think it's a good time for breakfast and have a feeling many people go early because they open at 7 am. The menu is very basic, nothing fancy. I enjoyed a breakfast burrito, made with turkey rather than sausage, with home fries which were particularly tasty! My husband had 2 eggs over easy with rye toast, home fries and a side of grits. I work in the area and have been looking for a little place to get a good, simple sandwich. Found it! I ordered the tuna salad on whole wheat. It's made with albacore tuna, a very generous helping piled high on toasted whole wheat bread. Delicious. What was even better was the side of potato salad that I ordered. The reason for the three stars is because I personally don't enjoy when a waiter/waitress is always at my table. I was asked how my food was 3 times and it made me sort of uncomfortable that the waitress was standing so close to our table throughout the whole time we ate. I was interrupted many times from my conversation because of the waitress and it was very irritating. had breakfast here on Sunday, got here at 12:45 and there was a wait, a good sign. after about 10 minutes we were seated. the decor made you feel like you were at your mother or grandmothers house. nicely decorated to look like a home is a strip mall. Donna was our waitress, she was excellent! we started with oatmeal and Donna timed the meal so we could finish the oatmeal before our breakfast arrived. our breakfast was a ham and cheese omelette along with quiche. both meals were very good. only thing I did not like was the cheese was on the outside of the omelette vs melted in the inside. many places serve it this way, just cause the cheese to stick to the fork. read more

Wow! Visiting with our high school rowing team and heard from another crew about the place. Great breakfast- boys couldn't finish their pancakes cuz they were so big.
