My intention was to get a dermaplane facial, however once I arrived and the facialist, Reiko, took a look at my skin and she had different plans for me! She warned me away from dermaplanning due to the nature that my skin is in right now. I really appreciated her walking me through all of alternative options customized to my skin's needs. I can do all the research I want, but at the end of the day a professional's opinion is certainly valuable. She ended up giving me chemical peal facial, which was fantastic. The process was cooling and relaxing, and took about 45 minutes total. Reiko was kind enough to sooth my skin with an extra treatment at the end, as we had the time (and I needed it). As with most spa treatments, the process is a bit pricey, but I truly look at as an investment in my skin's health. Most of the time I felt nothing other than the head of the laser device gliding across the skin. Whatever machine they are using, it's clearly top of the line. And the price was quite reasonable compared to the other salons I contacted. Some of the quotes I received were downright absurd. Juan was very down to earth and reasonable. It's been about a year since my last visit to Skn Bar, and this time around the experience did not…read moredisappoint! I've been wanting to get a chemical peel for sometime now, and decided to give it a try here. For those who don't know, a chemical peel facial essentially removes layers of skin to help improve the appearance of wrinkles, acne, scars, uneven skin tone... all things my skin is in need of. A whole skin resurfacing, if you will. I saw Riley, who was a new-to-me aesthetician, and I really enjoyed her! She did a fantastic job of walking me through the entire process of a chemical peel. From the facial procedure itself, so what after steps will look like, and how to care for my skin during all of it. Apparently your skin can tingle and burn to a degree while getting this done, as they are using some stronger acid blends working to enhance the skin clarity. I personally didn't feel much burning sensation at all, but Riley is there with a fan to help cool the process. The peel application didn't take more than 25/30 minutes (which surprised me), but I was in and out. With chemical peels, it's expected that your skin will literally "shed" over the course of a week or so, allowing new skin cell turnover and the smoother skin below to surface. I'm on day four since I had this done and today is the first day I'm really started to see the shedding. Is it cute? No. But is it working? Absolutely. My skin is even purging a bit, which just proves the treatment it working really deep, pulling out crap, dirt, bacteria, etc. I've also already noticed a difference in texture, as it's looking smoother. I'll plan to go back in 4 or 5 weeks for another peel treatment, as recommended to meet my goals of really healing my skin from the acne scarring, poor texture, and hyperpigmentation. For once I'm excited about results!!

I am an Asian male-to-female transgender and have so far received 6 treatments over the last 6 months for my bikini area and full legs with clearly visible results. Hair growth has been reduced by about 85% on my legs and 60% in my bikini area with fewer and finer hair growing back between each treatment. Fortunately, I did not experience any negative side effects from the treatments. As a biological male, my hair was thicker than that of women, but the hair reduction has been very effective. I have Colleen as my laser technician, and she is very experienced with laser hair removal. She will never rush through a session, and is very meticulous even when treating a large area. She slows down for you while treating sensitive areas where you need a longer interval to let the pain subside. She will always listen to your pain level and adjust accordingly. She has also been very respectful and understanding of my situation as a transgendered client. I am 100% satisfied with Colleen's service. I feel that my privacy is kept very well, and I never meet other patients during my treatment. Milan is one of the few laser hair removal facilities that can perform hair removal in the bikini area for male/transgendered clients. The laser system is powerful so that the pain in the sensitive areas can be high, but in turn the treatments have been definitely effective for me. The laser system used here have a cooling gas that is emitted with the laser, reducing the discomfort. The only reason why I did not treat my upper body is because I have already completed electrolysis treatment from a different provider in the past. If I had a need to remove hair from other parts of the body with laser, I would have definitely selected Milan. I would say the pricing is what you would expect from a high-quality laser hair removal service, but given the excellent service I am receiving, I can fully understand why.
