Ended up at this Mimi's Cafe while on business in Phoenix. I remember liking Mimi's Cafe since they're all over Los Angeles, but it's been awhile since stepping into one. With all the various coffee shops and new establishments customers now have when wanting breakfast, Mimi's will need to up their game. Interior appears old fashioned and the food isn't that good. Eggs and breakfast meats were greasy, tasteless and accompanied by soggy bread even when it came toasted. Muffins are still rather moist and good so perhaps that with a cup of coffee might be your best bet. Service was okay but perhaps when needing a breakfast location, especially to discuss business, I'll opt for an overall better place. read more

We love the food at Mimis. The service is extremely slow. You never see a manager and the staff seems to be running around in need of assistance you wait in a long line for a hostess at the entrance. Perhaps they are really understaffed. My husband finally got up and went and filled our water glasses at the service stand himself after waiting for over 20 minutes and asking for help. I really like this place, been here a lot! But tonight I received my meal with raw chicken, I asked to have it remade which they did. However the rest of my dinner party was finished with their diners by the time I received mine. :( Then they only apologized, normally the restaurant would comp the dinner due to their error. I have been to Mimi's twice now. Once for lunch a and once for breakfast! They have the best pumpkin muffin! The first time I had an amazing salad that was large enough for 3! The second time I did a breakfast omelette and lots of coffee! read more

We came to the Mimi's at Desert Ridge for dinner Sunday evening. The restaurant was not real busy, so we were seated immediately. Athena was our server. She is friendly and efficient. We have been frequent patrons since we moved to the Desert Ridge area about 2 years ago. Food has been consistent; servers not so much (depends who you're assigned to). A few months ago, the menu changed and I have not liked the changes. Used to love the in-house made quiche Florentine. Now it's made by an outside company and it's not as good. I've been there a few times since the menu changed and I've not enjoyed any of the dishes I've had. In addition, we are familiar with many of the servers, but each time we dine, not one of the servers even pretend to recognize us. A friendly greeting of recognition might go a long way. Went there tonight and sent my chicken sandwich back. It wasn't edible. This frequent patron will no longer be returning. read more

We were at Mimi's for lunch. My food was good but my husband had the meatloaf and it was extremely dry and tasteless. Then when we asked for Creme Brûlée for dessert. I asked for berries on mine. She told me they didn't do that. There was a picture in the menu of it fixed as such but not on the desserts page. The server felt she needed to prove me wrong and brought out the menu to show me it wasn't there. I thought I had seen it. I felt it was VERY RUDE of her trying to prove the customer wrong. She needs to be taught that to serve the customer is to please them. read more

This place is so unbelievably slow! Food is fine but it is run by a bunch of people who move with no sense of urgency. Our server today got "side tracked" as she said and proceeded to bring our toast out after we were done eating the rest of our food. We have had this issue several times now and keep giving this place of the benefit of the doubt but it might be time to give it a break - it's nothing compared to other breakfast places. read more

This was my favorite breakfast place, but I'm disappointed that they took away the lemon poppyseed pancakes. They were truly spectacular! Their breakfasts just aren't the same anymore. Service is great, the restaurant is very pleasant decor wise, clean and inviting. There was plenty of parking and we were greeted by a pleasant hostess as well as a very nice server. Our food choices were okay, a Meat Loaf dinner, a Club Sandwich, French Dip and Turkey and Brie melt. Everyone was pleased though I tasted something in either the bread or the butter on the bun of my French dip. A complimentary basket of Demi loaves and muffin tops were very nice. I ordered coffee which was freshly brewed and it had a nice balance While this is a chain restaurant I think it ranked better than most other chains. read more

Love this place. My friends and i go here often for breakfast. The mardigras omelette is good as well as the eggs benedict. this place gets busy in themornings on Sunday so there will be a little bit of a wait sometimes. Our favorite server Shaylene recently left due to changes. We have noticed the quality of food has recently changed and not in a good way. They changed the recipe for the Brioche French Toast and they now use bagged lettuce for the Cobb salad. Quality of food reminds me now of Denny's. Unfortunately often hear loud children here and parents do nothing to quiet them down. Service can be slow and one time I got sick for two days after eating their egg white omelette breakfast ( I think they used bad produce) that day. read more

To start with, I've never been a big Mimi's fan, but my friend wanted to meet there. Our waitress was very good and attentive the entire time we were there. She was older than the many other servers. On a couple of occasions my friend and I noticed that there were some tensions in the kitchen area between servers. Comments were made, loud enough for others to hear. Just made it a bit awkward. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, it just isn't my favorite place to meet up...not my favorite cuisine choice. read more

The food was mediocre, at best. Service was horrible. The dining room was about half full when we got there, maybe 3/4 full when we left. There was no reason that the two servers working shouldn't have been able to handle it, but oh my god, they couldn't. My 14 month old got apple juice for his drink. It came in a pouch with no straw, but hey, none of the rest of us got straws either so at least we were all even. After several minutes effort to get our waiter's attention, and finally calling out across the dining room, I told him. He dropped, like literally dropped, a handful of stars on the table. I waited a few more minutes for the stabby straw for the juice pouch, then just stabbed it with a fork and used one of the many normal straws that we now had. My coq au vin was pretty good. I won the food lottery. My wife's steak was not good. We never got drink refills. In fact, the one table that I saw actually get refills, they had to flag down the server, ask, and the manager ended up having to get involved. Not the worst dining experience I have ever had, but the worst in a long time. I seriously considered stiffing the waiter on the tip, which is something I never do, but it really was that bad. read more

We believe the manager came in about half way through our stay and all of a sudden we hear "I need runners please, Jesus fucking Christ." Pretty funny. So disappointed in MiMi's!! This use to be a restaurant where the staff took pride in their job. Hostess, Manager, Waiters, Servers, etc. were all on the same page. Different story lately .. Our family arrived around 11:00 on a Saturday for brunch , restaurant was less then 1/2 full.. The hostess sat us in the back where there were 2 other families sitting as well.. After 10 mins of NO ONE approached us at least for a drink order, we had to ask the hostess who said the waiter was busy putting in an order.. 10 more minutes the waitress abruptly arrives at our table for our drink and food order...again, there were only 2 tables she was working with, not sure why the attitude .. 25 minutes go by and some of the food was brought out while we had to wait for the rest.. the 2 tables near our table were having just as many issues.. the muffins were not brought out when we asked, the food looked like it was just thrown on the plate .. the pumpkin muffins had a hard glob of cream cheese on them, bacon was cooked limpy.. when we received our bill, we were charged for an item that was never brought out.. They also had something floating in our soda.. We had to wait another 10 mins for the waitress to pay the bill.. overall terrible and sad experience .. too many other restaurants who appreciate your business , will not be returning to MiMi's anytime soon.. read more

I've eaten here a few times. I love the spinach salad with salmon. I've had good service each time. It's not a 5 star place because it's good ole home cooking. The crowd is not hip or loud, but they know where the good home cooking style of food can be found. read more

Last Saturday we had guests from out of town, and we decided to go to breakfast at Mimi's at Desert Ridge. There were 6 of us including 2 children. What a great experience! I can't say enough about how we were made to feel so welcome. The food was just delicious everything came just as we ordered it. I had the eggs benedict and it seriously was the best I've ever had. All the food looked and tasted like a 5 star restaurant. Can't wait to go back. These people know what they are doing. Also a shout out to the manager Alan, he took special time to be sure the kids got their food quickly and even gave both of them high fives on their coloring. Can't wait to go back! read more

I am at mimi's every week, and the food is pretty good for breakfast. Get the chibatta breakfast sandwich, or pancakes. You can never go wrong with pancakes. read more
