    Red wine tasting experience
    John L.

A group of more than a dozen friends had the benefit of Tito's incredible knowledge and expertise on a wide range of local red wines, as part of a stag do/bachelor party. Tito demonstrated great calm and patience as we arrived in sections and a little bit late, followed by a thoughtful and interesting interactive demonstration of six different reds, with lots of little tips and nuggets of information that made the whole experience a fascinating couple of hours. An excellent way to learn more about wine - highly recommended!

What an amazing experience we had! We had a food and drinks tasting tour with Almudena last week. It was so much fun. She showed us the right way to get service and shared some great stories and tips about the town and food. All the food and drinks we ate were delicious. I am so thankful I got to experience this tour and even more thankful for Almudena! I would highly recommend this!

Just SOME of the food from the tour, there was actually more.

My wife and I took the Mimo Pintxo Dinner Tour last week and it was worth every penny. Unless you're a native of San Sebastian and/or have done months of research, there is no way to know where to stop for what to eat in an afternoon or evening of pintxo bar hopping. The tour conveniently left from our hotel, the Hotel Maria Cristina, and our tour guide Eli made the whole evening seem like it was just friends strolling around eating and drinking versus your bus tour/loudspeaker that we're used to in the U.S. While effortlessly navigating through multiple bars ordering us food and drinks, Eli also gave us history lessons about San Sebastian, the food and wine we were drinking and made us feel at home in a place where we had only just arrived. We will definitely do the tour again when we get back to San Sebastian and if we're lucky, a cooking class or chef's dinner at Mimo as well.

5 stars for a 5 star experience. The experience was thoroughly enjoyable and a great introduction to Basque cooking. We unfortunately booked on a national holiday which meant that we could not visit the local market as it was closed. Instead, we were guided around the old town and given a history lesson on the city followed by a delicious pinxtos tasting in one of the bars. When we returned to the kitchen, we were greeted with a delicious gaspachio and a much needed coffee. We then got down to business and cooked a wonderful array of tapas under the careful instruction of our chefs Augustin and Bendur. The process was simple and easy to follow and produced great results! At the end, we all sat down to sample our goods accompanied by some delicious wines. One small caution, many of the dishes we made came with 'assistance' from the very talented chefs so don't expect to not encounter some difficulty in recreating these delicious morsels. I could not recommend this enough.

Cider Barrels from the Sidreria Tour

We had the absolute BEST time with Nagore at the Sidreria Evening. She was an absolutely awesome tour guide and she made us feel totally comfortable and like locals. We went to the Petritegi Cidre House and ate and drank like kings. It was so much fun. The food was delicious! I think my favorite was the cod scrambled egg dish. There was also sausage, steak, cheese/quince/walnuts, bread and more! The unique part of this tour starts with the cider though. This place is like no other experience I've ever had. HUGE barrels of cider are all over the restaurant and you can go as you please to get more and more. There is a special way in which they teach you to catch the the cider in your glass. It's a blast!! If we had more time I would have booked more experiences with San Sebastian Food. Next time for sure!

Great food tour with Ane. She was incredibly helpful and seemed to know everyone in San sebastian. Exploring old town was great and I got to make friends with locals and fellow foodies alike. Ane showed us through 6 bars and stayed later than necessary since we were all having such a great time. Would definitely recommend!

Worth every penny! Agustin was a great host/guide!!…read more Agustin Ciriza's Gorilla Trips can be a bit deceiving. At first, I'm thinking "animal park tour?". After perusing his web site, I then thought, "do we want to surf in the morning, then kayak after lunch?", to which I answered, "this isn't our last bucket list tour . . . ". No, all we wanted to do was eat pintxos and tour the French coast . . . and we did and had a great time! Agustin e-mailed us directions for our first meet, picked us out of the crowd w/ ease (we Americans can try and blend-in, but they know . . .), and we were on our way. This friendly and gregarious gentleman gave us a fun history lesson as we walked the streets of San Sebastián. Most important, he took us for some wonderful eats: 5 pintxos stops w/ a plate/drink at each. We let him choose each combination, and every stop was a gastro treat: scallops, foie gras, beef cheek, prawns . . . Riojas, cider, beer . . . first class tasting tour! The next day, Agustin met us at our hotel, and we drove to the coastal areas of Basque (France). A 4-hr tour of Biarritz and St Jean de Luz was perfect, and there isn't much Agustin doesn't know about the region or it's rich history. Agustin does do surfing and kayaking tours, but he also deftly handles the gastro and local history trips pretty damn well, too. A++ Cheers! RS

The Tenedor team of guides and drivers seemed like they knew us. The cooking class with Katharine, Pintxos tour with Lide, and winery/cider house/brewery tour was well planned and great fun. The first night we randomly went into a few and it was very hit-or-miss. Gabriella introduced us not only to food specialties, but also Spanish history. It was like meeting a friend and having a fun and informative evening together. Subsequent evenings we returned to most of those bars again but we also tried others with more confidence than we would have otherwise. Gabriella's pinxtos tour is the perfect example of a niche, local food tour that is PERFECT for the right clients (us and apparently a lot of other people). Highly recommended.

Today the day started with hail and we ALMOST didn't go on the tour, and I'm so glad we decided to just say "go for it"...because we had the best day. The tour was small, the rain cleared up quickly, and we got some beautiful sun. Alain gave us some history, gave some recommendations for food spots, and even took us to a place we could play their version of hand ball (Esku Pilota or Basque Pilota). The tour felt personalized and we learned some basque phrases. One person got a flat tire and Alain was able to show off his expert skills at fixing the bike quickly...he kept each member of the tour safe! All the staff in the office were super friendly, responsive, and kept my bag safe when I forgot it . Highly recommend!

The city is very bike-friendly and the electric bikes used on this tour makes it so easy to maneuver throughout town. Each tour group is only 6 people and led by a friendly English-Spanish speaking guide. We had "Pylagio"(?) who was well versed on the history of the town and gave good recommendations for things to do for the rest of our stay in San Sebastián. We had taken the "Classic E-Bike Tour" on our 2nd day in San Sebastián and wished we had taken it on the day we arrived like the other people in our group. After this tour you'll have a better idea of which areas and sites you want to go back to and explore further. We plan on doing this tour again when we return with our teenage kids. Tips: - Before the tour, eat enough to hold you over for 3 hours of activity. Food stops are not part of the tour. Only water breaks. - Bring a cold sports drink (like Gatorade). Bottled water is provided but on a warm day, electrolytes helped get through the last half of the tour. - It's sunny, wear sunglasses and a hat. Use sunblock, sunscreen, or suntanning lotion. - Avoid bringing any bulky items. A small lightweight backpack is the most you should bring. - A GoPro is nice to have. You'll be riding through beautiful parts of town and see amazing views from the top of the peaks. We highly recommend this tour over the bus tours. On a bus they give you recordings to listen to while you ride around city streets. This bike tour is more fun and personalized.
