Came here to pick up some fruit trees for my fiance's mom. We tried calling first but no one answered, so we planned to stop by instead. When we arrived, we realized we went to the wrong location (our first visit to Mimosa Nursery was somewhere else apparently!) But we still found what we needed. It was a little hard to find at first, so when you arrive, you might not really see the entrance, so I'll attach photos of what to look for. We were the only ones there, got help when we needed it, and found what we were looking for. It's self-guided; no one greeted us or spoke to us until we needed someone to talk to. The people we were speaking with were knowledgeable about their plants and helpful in packing it so dirt wouldn't fall out. For the people in the reviews saying their trees died I think some don't understand these tropical trees that are being sold are grown mainly in Florida and need extra care in a different region. So my purchases have not been the case the owner was nice and showed me around to the trees and his helper helped to bag them up and placed them in my vehicle for me. Horrible customer service! They close earlier than advertised, the only help the owner is able to give is come back tomorrow. And they do not pick up their phone when you call nor are you able to leave a message. I think the overhead powerlines that this nursery is under a really fried the owner's brain. read more

The Asian guy, maybe the owner, was arrogant, rude, and condescending. We stopped him to ask questions, and rather than getting off his bike to talk to us, he started biking in circles and answering our questions with attitude. We asked where one type of plant was and he pointed to the front of the store over 100 meters away and said "it's there." It's a nursery! With hundreds of plants. Where is THERE? A lot of the plants don't have prices on them, some don't even have names, and the nursery isn't well marked with signage. The only reason I'm not giving this place 1 star is that I ran into another customer who was a regular there. HE was nice and friendly. He told us we should negotiate the price down, and gave us planting tips on what not to do with the jujube tree we bought (don't plant it near sewage lines). read more

Finally found a 20 gallon plastic planter for my dragon fruits. They were plastic of high quality (unlike Home Depot's cheap ass planters). They cost $15 which I found to be very reasonable. This place has a wide variety of plants and although I am not a connoisseur, I saw longan trees, other fruit trees and two varieties of dragon fruit (yellow cost about $40) and the pink one (cutting about 2-3 feet tall) with budding beginning to appear. Will come back for more planters soon. read more

This place is my mom favorite place to get fruit plants. The price here is really cheap compare to down in Orange county. The workers nice and knowledgably. We never had any problems with the workers or plants. I suggest buying the fruit plants when there is a sale, its a lot cheaper than buying it down in Orange county. read more

I come here occasionally with my classmates to look at plants to purchase and it's been a great experience with the latino gentleman, I don't know his name, I'm sorry. I went again today and had a price question about a plant, I took a photo of it and went to ask the Asian guy about it, and before I even spoke he immediately said "no we don't sell plants back here." I was taken back because I didn't even get a word out. I continued to ask him how much this plant was, and then he yelled at me saying "WE DONT SELL PLANTS BACK HERE" kind of scared me and my classmates so we ended up leaving. He then followed us to the exit on his bike. Oh and also, he was also following us everywhere we went. Pretty creepy. read more

The fruit trees I bought from here kept dying. I asked the old guy working there. He rudely said it was because of the cold weather. I've been watching videos about soil from Gary's Best Gardening. He made a case that trees are dying because all nurseries are planting them in organic matter. I have first-hand proof that Gary is 100% correct. I pulled out the dead trees and the root had dried up from being suffocated by the rotting compost. I paid $115 for a 7-gallon green wax apple and another $115 for a sugar apple. Both are completely dead. Here are the pictures. The reasons for the 1 star is the owner is ahole. His answers were short and condescending. The old man who worked there was borderline crazy. On the last 30 minutes before they closed, i went in to look for my pandan plant. Luckily i located the lady I spoke to before arrived. I got my pandan plant in a jiffy. Since I only had limited time I was only able to see a small part of the nursery & all it has to offer-bummer! i'll definitely come back next time for other hard-to-find plants. The staff were attentive & helpful. There was this Rainier Cherry tree about 16-20 feet tall for $350, so...price-wise I can't give it a scale in terms of affordability. Variety on the other hand, they have in spades! I want to return just to see what else they have!! read more

Terribly rude customer service, I was there to see a Black Tulip Magnolia tree and I asked the Vietnamese guy which I believe he is the owner of this place for the price, he said $200, and I said it's a bit higher than other places, then he said to me in a ver rude way "don't buy it ". The good: My family in NorCal heard about this place and introduced it to me. It is much more difficult to grow certain fruit trees up north so my parents made it a point to visit this place when they visited me down here. They have a dirt parking lot out front. The workers here was friendly and told us about discounts that they had. The worker we spoke with was knowledgeable about the fruit plants we inquired about. There are many tropical fruit trees and rare plants. My mom came looking for white pomegranate trees and she saw plenty! It is very hard to find tropical fruit trees but they have every kind you can think of here. There are trees for avocado, papaya, jackfruit, plums, grapefruit, starfruit, apples, cherries, Asian pear, lychee, longan, soursop, sugar apple and much more. There is so much to look at here! Many of the plants looked great and healthy. The bad: The place is narrow and long. The interesting: You can have plants delivered/shipped! They also have lots of gorgeous bonsai plants. read more

Came here with my mother looking for plants for my back yard. They have a large selection including Vietnamese fruits, which my mother preferred. I got a wonder cherry blossom and a sweet love plant, which smells divine. Newman was really helpful and very enthusiastic. I will definitely ask for his help next time. I bought African Pride online from Mimosa. While shipping is fast and on time, I can't say anything else positive. The price I paid and what I got was a rip off. It is so small and lack luster, not very healthy, some infestation on it. Seriously this business has no conscience selling this plant for a very high price. We asked him some questions and apparently he did not know how to answer those questions, so he started to talking about "Why you guys have so many questions and I am very busy, don't waste of my time." That is not the worst. If you end up not buying any plant, the old man will start yelling at you and being mad at you. There are a lot of nurseries in the area. Price is very competitive. I've checked in several nurseries (local retail business, online business, as well as some backyard nurseries) and I chose this place as they gave me good quotes on the plants that I wanted to buy. The old skinny man helped me pick out the best available pots, he explained how to choose a good plant that would grow better and yield more fruits, he also showed me how to prune, water and fertilize them. He was funny but sometimes I found it's hard to understand his jokes also, lol. If you're looking for fruit plants (especially tropical ones), you should come and check this place out, the nursery is huge, you can walk up and down the rows to get enough daily walking steps, lol. You can check out their website to see the price online first, go to the location to look at the plants, and start negotiate from there. This Mimosa location is the best! Chú Thu was the most amazing part. He was incredibly kind, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable when helping me pick out fruit trees for my garden. On top of the excellent customer service, they had a great selection of tropical/Asian fruits and plants that I haven't been able to find at other local nurseries. Prices were also really affordable. I love this place. I go with my uncle here to purchase plants when he's looking to expand his garden. Beautiful and wide selection of plants. We only like to deal with Newman whenever we come here because he's very knowledgable about plants, and he's not pushy about buying anything. He's a friendly and warm person, and my uncle told me if Newman's not there then we won't buy anything.
