It's a small house with lots of nostalgia items from the era; games, TV Guides and a soda shoppe recreation in one of the rooms. The rest is dedicated to Dr Kate Newcomb, who famously traveled the northern WI area delivering babies and doing it many times in snowshoes. She was also honored on the old show "This is Your Life" with Ralph Edwards. It's an interesting way to spend an hour or more while visiting the area. It's run by volunteers and gratefully accepts donations, so pony up some cash to support this lovely local attraction!

If you combined the DMV waiting area, an urgent care waiting room, daycare, and a chicken coop, that's what the theater was like during the show. The entire row behind us had newborns and toddlers crying and running back and forth. The child in front of us kept turning around to stare at us before finally climbing over the row in front of him to sit elsewhere. Two people in front of us texted constantly. And the entire left side of the theater was unaccompanied kids. Nobody shut up the entire 120 minutes. Ever. Not even worth $5.

To start with, I am not a member of the Minocqua Country Club. I was privileged to be invited to a…read morefamily wedding at the venue and am reviewing it from the perspective of a guest. As for golf and other amenities I cannot comment. The facility is easy to find, especially if you are familiar with the area. There is ample parking. The walk down to the lakeside location of the ceremony was rather steep-- but guests could be dropped off there and the hosts provided rides back up to the clubhouse for the reception. The clubhouse where the reception was held is typical of thousands of small town country clubs across the nation, but very good for its genre. The bartenders were professional and could mix all the requisite drinks. The spacious deck was perfect for socializing before dinner. Waiters provided appetizers that were fairly tasty even though I believe they were previously frozen commercial products. As far as wedding reception dinners go (and as a pastor I've been at over 100 fried chicken receptions) this was pretty good even though it was far from spectacular. The steak was well done, the fish (probably a haddock or cod loin) was moist and topped with a squirt of ranch dressing, the mashed potatoes were adequately seasoned, and the best thing on the plate were the fresh green beans that were not over cooked. I am assuming that everything was prepared by the house staff and not an outside catering service -- that would change my review but I don't expect to be privy to that information. For me, this is the second best venue for a wedding reception in our community (though I'm sure there are others that I've not been to yet). As second best I have to give it one star less than the other venue, thus three. (Search my reviews to locate the other review.) That said, it was a perfectly fine event for what it was.

No extra costs. Then you paint and give it to them when you're done & it takes about 4 days for you hem to get it backThey also have a bar and a little shop right inside and if you decide that you don't want to paint pottery they have other art you can do too like canvas painting or wood painting. And the staff is really nice and helpful. I wish this place was closer to my home, I'd be there all the time if it was !! Update: they put candy in the cup when you pick it up!
