Mindful Life, Mindful Work has great Yelp reviews, that is one of the key factors that lead me to believe that hiring them was a sound decision. The company is aptly named as it is heavily mindfulness based. You get an active listener reiterating tropes from local meditation centers and buddhist teachers for a very costly sum per month, so if what you are looking for is to continue down your path with a little support and emotional connection over the phone than this is your ticket. However, if you are looking for strategic frameworks, advice/recommendations and connections from an experienced business person that will spur your professional life to the next level then this is definitely not going to put you on the right track. If you want mindfulness teachings then I recommend going to a local center of practice or visiting DharmaSeed.org for that. This will in fact set you aside several thousands of dollars that could have been put towards starting your company or going to an established personal development course. I did not complete the entire 6 month contract so perhaps there were some major drivers of success that were going to come after 3+ months but it served mostly as a mindful distraction for me. read more

12 years ago I started attending Jonathon's mindfulness classes. Each month I would bring another friend with me, or buy them his CD. A few years ago during a tough transition (job loss, injury and relocation) I sought him out again. This year as we prepare to have a child, I contacted Jonathan again. As a scientist, I've placed a premium on technical skills, focusing on both broadening and deepening my technical capabilities. When I first read about yin yoga, I knew it would be a good match for me. Unlike most forms of yoga that really work muscles, yin yoga involves deeper, longer stretches of the body's connective tissues. As Jonathan explains on his website, "practicing the postures in this way allows one a deeper relationship with the subtle aspects of practice." I find this to be true. For various reasons, the gentle nature of yin yoga (floor-based and meditative practice) works well for me, and I have been really impressed with the way Jonathan teaches it. I started working with Jonathan because I felt a big and growing gap between my historical sense of "work self" and where I felt like I should be going next. My initial experience with Jonathan was as a student in his Yin yoga class almost 8 years ago. I only attended one class but I was guided into the deepest yoga practice I have had before or since then.
