I wasn't thrilled with the abrupt leaving, but then this doctor did the same. So I moved on to Dr. Appel and I am so glad I did. Love the doctor, hate the practice. they do not refill prescriptions until the patient calls and asks for a refill. there is no where on the portal to request and nobody answers tthe phone so i get put on hold for 20 mins and have to leave a message. I NEVER leave reviews but I could not go without making sure this doesn't happen to other people. I saw a Psychiatrist, Jean-Charles,Tessy and it was the worst experience I've ever had with Psychiatry. I've been working on my mental health quite literally since the age of 11, and have been seeing mental health professionals since the age of 11. I have been diagnosed with ADHD countless times, and am regularly seeing a therapist who has confirmed this diagnosis, as well as all of my previous mental health professionals. Tessy spent 35 minute gaslighting me and trying to convince me I just have "depression and anxiety" and refused to listen to a single word I said in response, her responses were always to double down and continue telling me I was wrong, saying things such as "you probably just didn't know you were depressed and anxious" when I informed her I've struggled with ADHD since childhood (age 10 diagnosis originally) and informed her I struggled with this even while I was not depressed or anxious. During my appointment the only questions she asked, at all, were regarding the PHQ-9 and GAD-7 forms, she asked me a total of 3 questions consisting of "why did you answer the question that way" "why made you feel the way you answered" etc, and after 3 questions, and no more than 5 minutes into the appointment started telling me I don't have ADHD and that I have depression and anxiety and that she "would be doing a disservice to treat me ADHD before the depression" What makes this so frustrating is my chart explicitly stated I was ONLY seeking treatment for ADHD, Anxiety, and C-PTSD, at the beginning of the call, she voiced that she was changing my chart to focus on depression and anxiety. I told her I have already experimented with depression and mood stabilizing medications and explained all of my horrid experiences and stated I DID NOT want to do so again, she blatantly ignored me and continuously repeated over and over that she needed to test me for depression. After speaking with my therapist about this she was flabbergasted that this psychiatrist was as uneducated as she was, my therapist confirmed that it was wildly unprofessional that she just made up her mind based on 3 questions over zoom and refused to listen to anything I said. My therapist even mentioning that with my level of trauma, any person would be depressed and anxious and she made no attempt to take that into mind, she never asked about it, she never asked any questions that could lead to a depression diagnosis, my therapist explicitly stated she does not think I am medically depressed, and immediately trying to prescribe medications for something I show no signs of, not even 10 minutes into a ZOOM, is dangerous and neglectful. The last 5-10 minutes of my appointment I was literally crying to this woman telling her I felt as if she was gaslighting me and she rolled her eyes and chucked it off, to the point I told her I felt like the appointment was going no where and I ended the appointment, without a second thought her response was "okay good luck goodbye". I have never in my life experienced such a wildly neglectful mental health professional and I heavily suggest you as a company look into this. Anyone thinking of coming to this practice for anything other than Depression, I would HIGHLY suggest otherwise. read more

To Make an appointment is a nightmare. I just waited on the phone for three hours.I have tried to call my doctors assistant but they don't want the assistance to make the appointments. They say you can make them online but I couldn't. You have to actually call to get them to set up the online capability. Yesterday I called and it told me I had the option to keep my place in line and they will call me back so I tried that, but then no one ever called me back. Well, at least I'm not alone in this, and I never even made it into the office! I attempted to set up a counseling appointment on Monday through my EAP with one of the counselors, Warstski I believe her name is. The receptionist was stressed and kept interrupting me. Talking to her gave me anxiety. I thought, this is a bad sign. They finally called me back today (Weds), but it was Scott Berlin, who was under the impression I wanted to see him for some reason. I explained that I had specific criteria for what I was looking for in a counselor, that they had already found my counselor but I couldn't remember her name (was at work). He asked what the criteria was and I said, well first of all, female. He said oh ok, not a problem we'll have someone call you back. I said no there is more. I told him I need someone well-versed with medical issues and that I have PMDD. He shouted WHAT?! and I said, "Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder - it's in the DSM!" I told him I also have IBS also. He said, "Well that's very generic" (I guess meaning any old counselor will do). That was hours ago and no one has yet to return my call. Luckily I'm not easily deterred and called my insurance company to get a new referral to a new practice and filed a complaint. Acting like that (both of them) would deter someone new to counseling and is extremely messed up. The funny part is on their website it says, "We are keenly aware of how difficult it is to make the first call. We want to furnish our clients with the highest comfort level. Our administrative assistants will assist you in making a smooth transition to our office." Hilarious!!! Stay away! read more

My 26 year old was getting treatment from this location virtually. His original doctor left the business and his new doctor which he only met once scheduled his meetings every three months. Young adults such as my son need constant follow up. This week we moved from our old home and my son missed the appointment. He got charged $60 for missing the appointment which is ridiculous to me. My son has a mental health issue and how can he be expected to keep appointments. This company main goal is to make money. Mental health is real but this organization is only here to make money. Not once has my son been contacted for follow up as to why he missed the appointment. It is my understanding that doctors are sworn in to protect and take care of their patience..: I haven't found one mental health doctor that is in this because they care. read more

I had to reschedule my usual appointment. Was given the new date and time. It was deleted because my therapist was not going to be available. No one told me. I was trying to then reschedule it for next week and now there is no availability until 3 weeks. I have had a standing weekly appt. I don't like telehealth and the person on the phone was not that helpful. Told me to call back next week. I am really disappointed in the response I have received. My son was a patient there (he was a minor). He was seen one time by a therapist (Alvo? Albo?) prior to his six week admission and stay in a psychiatric hospital for BPD and substance abuse. I attempted to make a follow up appointment with the psychiatrist in the office as per hospital instructions for his post care discharge. Don't remember the name of the doctor. Alvo called me to inform me that he was dismissed from the practice. No that isn't a typo and yes, that's what happened. She was dismissive, condescending and rude. She said I needed to let him make his appointments and I had to remind her that he was only 17 and still in the hospital. He wasn't even allowed to make phone calls. I've been with this office for a few years. Docs are good and that's the only reason I go here. Office is a disaster. YOU CAN NEVER EVER EVER EVER GET A PERSON ON THE PHONE. Negative rating. My original therapist's practice was bought out by Mindpath. Soon after the conversion she left Mindpath. I was assigned a new therapist who left Mindpath before our first appointment. I was assigned yet another new therapist who left Mindpath before our second session. Major RED FLAGS. My fourth therapist refused to take me on due to my medication regiment WHICH WAS PRESCRIBED BY A MINDPATH DOCTOR!!!!! He refilled a few of my prescriptions and sent me on my way to find another doctor on my own. I noticed I was charged for this "visit" and their desk told me that, since he refilled a prescription it was still a visit even if he did fire me. I received a follow up call asking if I'd like to be "assigned" to a new doctor. 5 doctors in 6 months? I don't think so. Stay away at all costs. This is what happens when private equity takes over mental health. You're nothing more than a number and a statistic to them. They laid off a good portion of their staff and my psychotherapist has told me that Mindpath's doctors are leaving in droves. Oh, and good luck actually getting someone on the phone ever. I have been to this practice since October of 2018. Because of insurance confusion, I did not realize that they were charging $175 per visit (10-15 minutes) . This may not sound like it would break the bank, but doing a little math leads me understand that they are charging $700 - $1050 per hour simply to refill prescriptions. I do not know of any other professional services organization that routinely charge that much. Given the fact that I have been stable on my prescriptions for over two decades, the process could be handled in five minutes or less to meet the spirit and letter of the law with regard to writing prescriptions. From a cost/benefit perspective, this practice is outrageous. read more

My child has been a patient for 6 1/2 years. We never had a problem until the practice was purchased by Mindpath Health. Appointments and customer service have been an absolute disaster. I had made appointments for my child and when the appointment time came, the appointments were no longer there. I was used to dealing with the doctor's assistant. They took away the extensions for the doctors and therapists and you can only deal with the call center. Today, one of my kids had an appointment. The appointment was made two months ago. The office insisted it was impossible, even though I was reading the email that I received. I again requested an office manager or the doctor's assistant. I was told someone would call me back. I gave them the house phone number. They told me that the number wasn't correct (yet it has been my number for 19 years). They somehow linked one child's cell phone to another one of my children's account. I told them that was not the correct number, but they still insisted it was and called the wrong child. It is nearly an hour later and I am still waiting to speak to the assistant. I truly love the doctors but being this huge corporate enterprise is a definite failure. read more

First, the phones sound like they are from 1960 and you are transferred to an answering service of some type. This is after getting a recording twice. They have me on benzodiazepines for two years and lexapro and told me to seek out a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center to taper me off my medication that they will not help me. Their excuse they are accusing me of being a drug addict which I have never used drugs a day in my life and an alcoholic which I didn't know having a glass of red wine three days a week made you an alcoholic so now I'm addicted to benzodiazepines I have suffered from tia in the past and seizures and I'm supposed to go cold Turkey off of a medicine they have had me on for three years under no supervision I'm very scared that I will pass away doing this because my insurance doesn't cover drug rehabilitation I'm terrified of doing this cold Turkey with my medical problems I'm asking for prayers because if I am very terrified because dr Jessica shabo and Michelle Tullock who is the judgmental therapist who told shabo I was on drugs and alcohol I am being taken off lexapro trazadone and lunesta cold Turkey with no supervision because of Michelle's hearsay read more

We just found out yesterday that my granddaughter, who was only seen for a short time, has been labeled as needing a higher level of care for the entire practice. PLEASE! For your own sake, DO NOT attempt to use their services. This has been a living nightmare. The lack of internal communication in this office is just unacceptable. Doctors won't show up to the appointments and they will say it's a proxy issue, Dr. Torrientes lack of organization is the worst. I really thought that the bad reviews were not real, but I can attest it has been the most pitiful service. I will reach out to my insurance and let them know about this and I will reach out to the proper authorities. The billing department refused me 2 times now because I was not able to pay my copay on the day of visit. I have had a balance with them; that I pay off within the week that I tell them I will. I had a baby and was having such horrible post partum that I was suicidal. When I got to the office I didn't have my copay that day. They refused for me to see the Dr. Until I could pay. I have been an established patient with them for years and never once gave them any hassle about paying. When I was visibly in distress , Shelly at the front desk in the Boca office, publicly shamed me to the point that another patient waiting came to my defense. Don't waste your time at this place. Copayment was $175 for a 45 minute appointment... 45 minutes. My previous therapist only charged $100 for a whole hour. Reception was almost always rude and didn't care about anything but your money. I saw Susan Jacobson for a little over a year and I learned not a single coping mechanism. I talked about my concerns and feelings, all I got was a story about herself. In fact, it was mostly just her talking and interrupting me for 45 minutes. I have bipolar disorder and she didn't know a thing about it. How are you supposed to help me when you aren't even educated on the disorder I struggle with?? When I went for a family session she seemed to always side with my parents... who pay the bills. Not to mention I have told her I am not religious yet she still preached about god to me. Scott Berlin is no good either. He sat there and stared at me for 20 minutes then asked if I had anything to say? I said not really because I was uncomfortable and have severe anxiety. Then he tells me " okay, see you next week" I did NOT make another appointment yet they scheduled me anyway for the following week. I still had to pay because I canceled the day of but I had NO CLUE I was booked for an appointment. Just stay away from this pit of despair. This turns into me showing up for an appointment and then telling me I had the wrong time.... I work for myself as a hairstylist and use my appointment book for everything. Finally after all these years I found a place where I am understood. Dr Fisher is truly wonderful he really listens to your needs and is very accommodating. I love Dr. Rodriguez as well she is a wonderful therapist who I feel comfortable enough to tell her the honest truth about my problems. This place saved my life. read more

The location is nice, the staff is for the most part friendly. I have been going here going on 2 years now and haven't had any issue. The only thing is with this office, they are very serious on their policies with appointments. Do not miss your appointments without calling a day in advance, nor be late for an appointment. As being more than 5 minutes late has resulted in having to reschedule and come back. But this is a great practice, very professional, and a very nice location. I agree with the other reviews. They do not care about the patients. They are in it for the money and as many patients they can book and get revenue on in a day. If you have a really rough time and leave a message and are upset they don't call you back. They want their patients to be calm and never have crisis, but they are supposed to be treating patients that have issues and need help,but once you have one they don't want to deal with it. It is a revolving door to make money not to help people. If you don't have good insurance that pays them well they are not interested in helping you. Do not waste your time and money. read more

I disagree with all the mean posts people have posted regarding this office. I've had the pleasure of working with both dr. Fisher and dr. Albo. Dr. Fisher has always listened to me and that's a great quality to have in a doctor. He respects my opinion and I feel that we work together to come up with a solution. In addition, he always gives me options and explains at length, how the meds work and what causes them to work in the brain. He is very intelligent and not a pill pusher. But he respects those of us who like medication. He's always mentioning literature or strategies to help improve whatever issues I'm having. He's an excellent doctor who I will continue to see, going on year 3. Dr. Albo is also wonderful. She is such a sweet and kind woman. She always made me feel like I was being listened to. I never felt judged. After reading the terrible comments about both of them, I felt the need to put my good experiences out there. read more

Their website says that they know its hard to make that first call, well if anything it's hard to get them to answer the phone once you get up the nerve to call. The first time I didn't get anyone to answer and the answering machine rifles through the names of a dozen or more doctors and you can't even make out what their extensions are because the person on the recording talks so fast. So I called back and got a recording that said leave a message and then got disconnected. Then I called and spoke with someone name Courtney who was very cold and clinical, not welcoming or nurturing whatsoever, which is surprising considering their business. She started asking me all these personal questions about what I was calling for even though I knew the doctor I wanted to make an appt with based on their website. Hard to begin really bc there are SO many ways these ppl drop the ball at what they do. Reception is (I'll say 99%) rude & don't care if you get the appointment you need at all. Dealing with reception, you'll get the impression every client is a bother to them. They never confirm appointments which doesn't matter anyway bc your doc will inevitably be at least 10-15 late (on a good day). For whatever delusional reason, they think late is normal & one doc even went so far as to assure me it could be worse and most places make you wait an hour; I guess the takeaway there is that I should be 'happy' to get in ONLY 20 min late? Who cares about my schedule right? Certainly not a doctor at a mental health office. And forget rescheduling, it'll be at least a month to 6 weeks at EITHER office & reception will not call you if anything opens up earlier-this seems especially negligent when dealing with CRUCIAL matters of mental health-but again, these ppl are not going to care. This place is, as far as I can tell, basically in the business of throwing useless, unnecessary, or worse (harmful) pills at you, until you physically, emotionally can't take anymore & give up on them completely. If you can tolerate their attitudes & incompetence, you get pills, but only if you get out fast bc they're already backed up/triple booked before the day even starts-you WILL be rushed through every appointment. In EIGHT months, my docs were NEVER ONCE on time, what's worse is that they seemed COMPLETELY apathetic and honestly not very educated about a wealth of medical areas. I should have a psychiatric/medical degree on my wall before they ever should. They basically made issues worse-sleep, anxiety/panic attacks etc. They didn't care to look into any alternatives & threw up their hands up so to speak, after seeing how much worse each Rx made me. The second doc I tried (late from the very first appointment) also seemed cold, dismissive, uncaring & in too much of a rush to be concerned w anything I had to say (I'm willing to bet there were 3 more ppl waiting to be seen from an hour before). Whoever runs this place picked the most incompetent docs I've ever run across & I really believe they should've never gotten medical degrees & just aren't right for their jobs. They don't CARE here which is basically the most essential part of mental health. There is no concern, you are only a name on paper (not an actual person with feelings & issues) & you'll always get the impression you are a bother to these ppl & the office staff. The basic intelligence required to run an office/implement a schedule is just asking WAY too much from anyone there. Not sure why they can't get this right since the rest of the world understands the word 'appointment'. Your average 6 year old knows what it means to be on time but these 'educated' ppl can't seem to wrap their brains around the concept of time, schedules or clocks. And best of all..God forbid YOU don't show up bc you're getting charged a lot for that!...but they're gonna be unapologetically late EVERY SINGLE TIME. Add apathy & medical incompetence to the mix and it makes for a miserable experience. Even the front desk w it's (normally) closed, frosted glass isn't exactly conducive to helpfulness, openness or healing, which is esp important at a mental health office! (Do I really need to even say that? How could they not realize this is a terrible idea?)..To have a moody receptionist close the frosted glass in your face or have you wait in line with 5 other ppl does not exactly give someone the feeling of safety, calmness or openness. As I've noticed during my endless wait periods in the office, many others are giving up on this place too. I've PERSONALLY noticed ppl asking for their copay back (bc they waited too long?) AND patients cancelling their future appointments (apparently to never return). I'm officially with them now. I can easily find an office with friendly reception & caring COMPETENT doctors who can ALSO tell time. I know at this office, that's definitely asking WAY too much. It's sad too bc it appears as if the higher ups are merely in this for the money thus trying to get as many ppl in and out and keeping the money flowing. This place should get 0 stars ..& snow will fall in hell before I'd ever consider going back..& for the sake of others who really are in need of good mental health providers, I hope this place gets better read more

There are doctors who are really doctors and have actual interest in helping people and there are people with college knowledge who are simply out to get money and forget the PLEDGE they took! And according to the previous reviews and my own experience, this clinic is the second option. Where have you heard of refusing to see a patient over a 5 minute delay AND I already had all the paperwork filled out! I won't even get in depth about my situation but I almost begged to see the doctor and the time the receptionist wasted going back and forwards and the doctor refusing, I could of been seen, but he was probably to busy scratching his ... They better not charge me! It was probably better this way than being one more used as a lab rat by doctors in advantage of the pharmaceutical industry! I see lots of negative reviews and they could all be true. However I personally like Dr. Fischer and find him well educated. Some people don't know that typically NOW thanks to insurance, psychiatrist are just there for medication upkeep. You need to see one of "counselors" for individual therapy. Not the office fault, insurance has changed things. Now I was seeing another psychiatrist, but he passed, and this was sometime back and I always disagreed with his recommendations, but I have a great therapist. I agree that there are some in the practice whose "style" is to just sit there, however there are other therapist who will teach you alternative ways of dealing with your issues/illness, not just medication, but teaching you coping techniques, and a lot of different, alternative ways. Mental health is a serious issue and if you don't find the right therapist, move on. You really have to "click" with the person. read more

They try, but after having seen 3 of the doctors in this practice, "trying" is all I'm willing to give them credit for doing. A doctor in this practice made jokes about my eating disorder straight to my face. None could provide an effective diagnosis or effective treatment. HIGHLY unprofessional handling of appointment scheduling throughout my entire experience with this practice. I have chosen to remove myself from their "treatment" because I often left their facilities feeling worse than when I had come in. Though I can only speak of 3 of the associates in this office in saying this, that is 3 too many. read more
