This was my first ever Hypnotherapy session and I came out of it impressed, amazed, and in disbelief. The disbelief came from mostly being cocky and claiming (to myself) that I can't ever be hypnotized and that this is all voodoo Mumbo-Jumbo. I couldn't have been more wrong, as evidenced by the multiple phone calls I made to friends and family afterwards telling them my experience. Mindy is in all sense of the term, the consummate professional. Her care for the client and the results that they will achieve from the session is shown through her thorough explanation of the techniques she uses and what the patient may expect with their session. A great sense of calm and relaxation was felt throughout the duration of the session and it continued on throughout the day. I had her work on correcting my lazy/procrastinating nature but she is able to help with so much more as she explained to me. Do not let your initial skepticism prevent you from seeking her help. I was probably the biggest skeptic going into this session. If you are searching for a way to quit smoking, get over insomnia, correct poor diet habits, or any other mind limiting ailments, I highly highly suggest seeing Mindy and seeking out her help. After suffering with increasingly severe bruxism and TMJ over a period of years, I decided to try hypnotherapy after breaking my first night guard (yes, with my teeth)! I did some research and Mindy seemed like the most sincere and qualified hypnotherapist out there. She responded quickly and warmly to my e-mail. I had a few sessions and they were a SUCCESS. To be clear: my bruxism has been reduced by probably 75% or more! That's really saying a lot, considering I thought I was eventually going to start breaking/losing teeth. I still wear a night guard to be safe, but I never have any pain upon waking and my jaw is relaxed throughout the day. Overall, I'd say I don't think anymore about my jaw clenching -- it's a non-issue, which is a true relief. My gums are also now beginning to heal from prolonged trauma. I highly recommend Mindy. She's very kind, humorous, and sensitive to your needs. A great listener. Just working with her on hypnosis I get the sense that she makes a great general therapist as well. Mindy is simply amazing! As someone who has spent a good amount of time in the metal health arena with a variety of different experts, Mindy (more-so than anyone - and I've met a lot of wonderful people) made me feel the most comfortable. She is an amazing listener and it's clear right away that she really cares about everyone who steps into her office. What I really appreciated most about Mindy is that she has such a deep understanding of the techniques she uses and the underlying psychology and processes that pertain to the issues that we can face. She did not approach me in a clinical way like so many people have done but really took the time to listen & relate. In terms of the hypnotherapy, the actual experiences have been enjoyable, calming, revealing and really beneficial once I leave the office. In the days following my first two sessions I felt a deeper sense of clarity and that it was easier to shift the momentum away from harmful habits and to a healthier and more positive way of relating to myself and my goals. My experience with Mindy was ok, but not great. The office is quiet and peaceful, and Mindy herself is very kind and compassionate. It's very easy to open up to her and explain what's going on. You feel very safe in her office. That being said, Mindy wasn't able to hypnotize me. I went twice, and was surprised that she actually charged me for 2 sessions with no results. She told me that "Mediterranean people are harder to hypnotize". Needless to say, she didn't leave me with a sense of confidence in her abilities. I thought that I was the problem, and that I just wasn't open to hypnosis. Months later, I went to a different practitioner and was easily hypnotized with great results after one session! read more
