I wish I would have researched shots that I wanted more in advance to the wedding to ensure all of the ones I wanted were taken, in the moment it is easy to become overwhelmed and forget. There was maybe only 2 or 3 poses I would have included and we had over 600 to pick from so we have plenty of choices. DW was kind and fun during the wedding. His use of light in the photos were genius and turned out beautiful in the photos. I ordered several photo books from DW and they were wonderful. He even included hand written holiday cards for the people I was gifting them to. That was such a thoughtful and special detail! I definitely recommend using DW for a wedding photographer. We truly cherish all of the lovely photos and the memories from that day. In hindsight, I would have added more time because 2 hours were not enough to include pictures of the dances and some other important moments of us and our guests.

It…read morewas a really personal and vulnerable thing for me, so it's amazing how fun and relaxed it was to do the photoshoot with Aubrey. First of all, Aubrey is not awkward or a prude. She has an unfazed sort of vibe about her. She's also really funny which, as we all know, helps during any potentially awkward moment. She told me all the little details about how to pose so that my face and hands and everything didn't look stupid (you know how sometimes you see photos and the people are fumbling with what to do with their hands or feet or what direction to look? I need more direction than that and she is really good at that)! Aubrey figured out what angles and lighting looked best and she was so encouraging the whole time. I had a mix of photos of me looking at the camera, looking away, smiling, not smiling, etc., some looked candid, others didn't. Perfect mix. Also she would tell me how amazing the photos were looking while she was shooting and even showed me some on the little camera screen. I have never felt like such a rock star. Then, after editing, she sent me a giant load of absolutely incredible photos. I don't know if she just did everything right as far as angles and lighting, or if she did a lot of editing work in the "lab" but either way she made me look really good in my photos, better than I could have imagined going into it. About six months ago I got it in my head I wanted to do a boudoir shoot. I am in no way a classic…read morecandidate - 57 years old, 6 feet tall, boy body, nobody's idea of a pinup girl. Did my google searching for photographers in Houston and contacted about a dozen. Perhaps half responded they weren't available, and half didn't respond. However, one adorable young lady in Austin (3 hours away), Julia Vie of Vivian's Muse, said she was very excited about shooting me! We exchanged several emails about the process and logistics and had an extended phone chat. My trepedation morphed into excitement and anticipation. Let's do this!! The big day! Julia shot perhaps 400 photos in an hour or so, all the while offering instruction, incredible encouragement and showing me what she had captured in her viewfinder. All with a monster camera and first class professional lighting. We shot on the couch, on the stairway, in the window, on the bed. Woah, so exhilerating! Nervousness was gone and my inner goddess had taken over. I'm not one for exaggeration but this was truly one of the best hours of my life. Back the next morning to review and select proofs. Oh no, her computer jammed up, wasn't happening. No problem in the digital age. We had more girly chat, comparing notes on all of the fun we had had the preceding day. A few days later the proofs arrived via email. I was blown away. OH MY! That cannot possibly be me. But...it is! Being a goddess, even for a short while, really gets in your head. And stays there.
