    The front door.

We were heading out to a concert at World Records on a Friday night. We knew all the "regular" hot spots would be full. We remembered a little Chinese place on "L" Street and thought we would give it a try. We were in luck. The parking lot was empty, and the sign said "Open". But, when we got to the front door, it was locked. Just as we were walking away, the owner, Mr. Pang, pushed the door open and invited us in. He told us it was a slow night, but he would serve us. The place was a bit chilly. There were red roses everywhere. It looked like they were getting ready for a banquet. While his English was a little hard to understand, Mr. Pang made us feel right at home. We ordered the General Tso Chicken with an extra soup and some vegetarian egg rolls. He brought out our soup immediately, and later when we finished, he brought us seconds. The General Tso's chicken was tender, served with noodles and fried rice. It was all very tasty. I can't figure out why this place isn't busier, especially on a Friday night. We hope to check it out again for lunch. Mr. Pang said to be sure to come during the week of Chinese New Year (February 9).

Went in for a quick lunch and was impressed! We were greeted at the door and were thanked by who I'm assuming is the owner for coming in. He was so sweet and had a big smile on his face. Food was very good and plate had good portions for the price! Food wasn't greasy and had amazing flavor. Lunch special was under $11 which you can't get that even at fast food places nowadays. The lunch special came with a soup which was my favorite, it wasn't just water but had vegetables in it. Everything was very delicious! The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. The Owner kept thanking us for coming in even on our way out. Definitely will be coming here again.

Stopped here after a long day at work on a Thursday. My fiancé and I ordered the specials advertised on the Bakersfield Local Restaurant Group. For 10.95 I ordered the Beef & Broccoli, that was served with soup, egg-fried rice and Veg. Chow Mein. My fiancé ordered the Kung Pao Chicken special for 9.95 that is served with the same sides. The food was fresh and delicious. The broccoli was cooked to perfection & the cashews in the Kung-Pao chicken were a tasty addition. For the large portions, the value was great! The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful. Most of all, the service was incredible. The owner checked in with us frequently and was extremely friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming environment.

It smelled like rotting meat and it was dark and weird. Dirty glasses brought out for water. Kinda creepy.

This time the son and I decided to dine in and the food was borderline spoiled, nothing tasted fresh and it wasn't hot, nor warm. Our food was borderline cold. The interior was dusty and in need of attention, especially the fake plants. Though spacious when we entered there wasn't a soul in the place, which was a red flag, but per usuh we brought people. I'm not sure if our food was so nasty because we ordered a lunch special and they reserve what's going bad for those orders because the other four families dining in didn't seem to be having the same experience. What saved this review from being a 1 star review and the only reason I didn't complain to the waitress about the quality of the food is because the only server was elderly and unable to pick up her feet and my very gracious son said to lig, so I did, but it appears if the couple who runs the restaurant doesn't get some help soon they may need to close their doors.

Heard about this place on IG... So I thought I would give it a try. I was super excited to go in…read moreand try since the review on IG sounded like the food was amazing. The place is like your standard Chinese takeout restaurant, where you have premade dishes, ready to be served with white rice, fried rice, or chow mein noodles. The menu has standard items such as orange chicken, general, chicken, chicken, teriyaki, honey, walnut, shrimp, honey, chicken, mushroom chicken, and so. They also offer egg rolls, cream, cheese, wontons, and soup. What stands out about this place is that they offer a catering menu, unlike some of the other homegrown Chinese takeout places. The restaurant itself is very clean although had a strong smell of Fabuloso and the tables in the floors were a bit sticky. They have one singular bathroom and it was clean. The person who took my order was very nice, friendly, and professional. She was very eager to give me a taste of the entrées in case I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat and I thought that was very cool. I purchased a bowl with half fried rice and half chow mein, and one entrée. For my entrée chose the honey shrimp. my meal came with a fountain drink so that was good. The entrée is $9.99 however, because I got the shrimp, it was a little bit extra. I wish I had gone when the IG people were there doing their reel... Because my food didn't taste anything like how they described it. The honey shrimp was very tasty and the shrimp was cooked perfectly however, every now and then I would get a huge puffy piece. I was not impressed with the fried rice nor the chow mein. I was expecting it to have a wok-seared flavor, like how it was described by the couple doing the reel on IG. For me, it was very plain, in fact, at one point, I thought the chow mein noodles were spaghetti noodles. While the meal satisfied my hunger, since it was dinner time, I likely will not be going back... Sorry, peeps I still have not found good Chinese food in Bakersfield. I hope you have a different experience, and if you do, enjoy!

One day after work I'm kinda sad... being an LA boy I missed my asian cuisine. Mom was out at MahJong and dad was idk planting flowers or something (he's retired now so I guess he picked up Botany). Out comes the beef chow fun. Quite frankly it itched my chinese tickle. You know its good when it's named "fun." That's "noodles" in Mandarin for my non-Mandarin friends. 5 out of 5.
