They must carefully select the chicken peices they use because I can count on one hand how many times I've gotten one of those bad fatty, stringy nasty peices over the last 4 years. I don't know why reviews aren't higher. This is easily the best restaurant in town. Always high quality food prepared perfectly, and quickly. It's always "10 minutes" when you order for pickup. Friendly owners and staff. Large portions at a decent price. The lunch buffet is a good way to explore the menu. I like Spicy Triple Delight and the spicy garlic chicken dinner (fried rice and egg roll). Singapore Chow Mei Fun is also excellent and pretty hot. When I first ordered with my card online, I had $3000 taken out off my bank account for hotels in Hong Kong and a random website I've never heard of. I got it all back luckily. I wasn't aware what could have been the cause. I got a new card and ordered only off my new card from there. The next day had $1000 taken out of my account from more random websites. Upside: The staff was very polite, very kind, very easy to talk to and our food was ready in 10 minutes for carry out which was great! Down side: The quality of the food. Excellent lunch buffet. My kids love this place so we've come here a few times specifically for their buffet. It's a small buffet - but certainly not lacking variety! The trays are small and therefore constantly refilled and fresh. Their fried dumplings are some of the best I've had and I love that they have egg foo young on the buffet! Food is bland and under seasoned. Not well mixed as it had, multiple times, clumps of likely cornstarch in the sauce. Heavy on onions and not many other vegetables. My stomach paid the proverbial piper at Ming's!!! My wife had used this place for years since it's the only Asian place in town. I placed my first takeout order with her and they gave us the wrong order. Agreeing to give them a second chance, we tried the buffet. Getting there 5 minutes after opening, we expected the food to be fresh and hot. Nope! Some items were mildly warm while others were outright cold. The chicken potstickers were unchewable, the spicy chicken was mushy, the broccoli was almost frozen and the shrimp smelled bad. But the worst was yet to come. Within an hour, I was in abdominal pain and destroying our bathroom. I was in and out of the bathroom from noon til 7pm. I felt awful all day. I would never, ever patronize this place again. I've eaten at lunch trucks in Los Angeles in rough areas that were 5 star compared to this place. Being that I'm originally from the New York City area, you can imagine that I've tried hundreds of Chinese restaurants right? Yep, this is true and have never backed down from given any of them a try regardless of the reviews. Not every place will be the best, for me, it's how it's prepared and the connections made from the experience there. Now, I will be honest with you - this place isn't the most pleasant inside (it could use a remodel with a more updated floor plan) and doesn't have the most friendliest owner's, but the food they provide is fresh and plentiful. Their buffet is kept full and never have I ever seen it emptied for longer than a few seconds. These folks are up to par with what their meal choices, but would highly recommend an update for more seating space and ambiance, since they are not just a take out business. Having lived in this city for 12 years, My husband and I always forget about Ming's. We've eaten there maybe five or six times. It's always been good. Today, on Easter Sunday, we ordered takeout (only because another favored restaurant wasn't open). Wow, wow! What a great meal! I don't really eat Chinese food. For 20+ years, I've always ordered the same thing - Chicken and Broccoli with an egg roll. Boring, right? I decided to order something totally different and experiment. Picked up the Cantonese Chow Mein (House Special with chicken, shrimp and pork), Shrimp Fried Rice, and Beef Chow Mai Fun, with egg rolls, of course! Huge servings with enough leftovers for two. It was all so good. Can't wait to try other items on the menu. Plenty of meat and shrimps, fresh veggies cooked perfectly with crisp left to them, some fabulous flavors in the sauces (some kind of basil, maybe). The egg roll dipping sauce is amazing. Garlic? I've been dining here for a good 15 years now. Oh my gosh, the lunch buffet is so good! It's actually the best Americanized-Chinese buffet food I've ever eaten. The service is ok at lunch, but sometimes they miss soda refills. It really depends how busy they are. You can buy a take out container to fill with buffet food if you are in a rush. If you are dining in, you have the option of ice cream for dessert. I wouldn't recommend Ming's for dinner because it is pricier and you don't get the variety you can have at lunch. Not sure what the hype is all about. After hearing such great reviews, we decided to give it a try. Granted, it was 7p during a week night, but the even the food looked tired. We ordered via phone for a pick up and were incredibly disappointed. Three entrees and one appetizer. The appetizer was soaked in oil and one of the three entrees was wrong. Such a disappointment. Really, the existence of this little take-out/dine-in place, which has no Web site and does almost nothing in the way of advertising, makes living in this rural town bearable. You're hard pressed to find better quality Chinese anywhere...and it's reasonably priced also. Worth the trip off I-94 (a mile south on Rt. 89). Order up: Spicy Triple Delight (tender chicken, shrimp and large scallops and lots of veggies in a delicious hot sauce, served with rice), Beef Lo-Mein, General Tso's Chicken (like Governor's Chicken elsewhere, with the broccoli). This Place is pretty good, but it has its up and downs. I once found a hair in my steamed dumplings and they have a tendency to make minor mistakes on orders. I absolutely love Ming's. I've been eating here for 15 years and it's pretty much stayed the same. My favorite things to order are the crab rangoon (seriously the best I've ever had. Trust me, I'm a connoisseur.) and the shrimp with garlic sauce. The buffet is really good too; it's always really fresh and they have a pretty wide variety to choose from.
