The service is buffet style but they also offer a menu of ala carte dishes. We chose the buffet. They had a few decent Chinese and Thai dishes. However, the Mongolian grill and the 'sushi' were absolute abysmal and unauthentic. While I understand the concept of a Mongolian grill is to 'choose your own ingredients and have the chef fry it up', this could prove disastrous if you pair the wrong food with the wrong sauce, which you can't even taste beforehand. Sure, trail and error goes a long way when experimenting cooking with food but I was too hungry to tolerate that. The ingredients were not good quality and the sauces were either bland or too sweet. It resembled nothing of the good quality Mongolian restaurants I used to visit in the U.S. and Japan. As for the 'sushi', well, being a native of Okinawa, Japan, I should have known not to eat the sushi at any buffet. I always set myself up for disappointment when I do. I'm open-minded to try new things and fushion foods but seriously, don't tweak the sushi rice and use cheap imitation crab. Although the ambience, interior, and atmosphere was somewhat pleasant, I'm giving this restaurant a one. The quality of the food is too low. I will not make a second trip.

If you really like Japanese food or live in a place like LA or NYC with quality sushi - don't even think about it. Fish consists of shrimp, tuna and salmon and is average frozen quality. The preparations are all smothered in sweet sauce and mayo that isn't listed on the menu description for the dish. The rice was old and dry. It's - just not sushi. Worse - they have displays all over the restaurant with slide shows of nice fish, real wasabi root, elegant rolls - none of it is in the restaurant. We have better sushi at the grocery store in Los Angeles.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and always have the best recommendations if you're overwhelmed with all the choices in the menu. Being a native of Okinawa, Japan, I was excited when a sushi bar opened in Friedberg since I live fairly close. I thought I'd give the Vietnamese owners the benefit of the doubt and try the sushi. One might think based on the photos, "What's my deal?" Well, Japanese food is neither Chinese nor Vietnamese. There is as much distinction between Asian ethnic foods as there is among European ethnic foods. It might look like sushi but it was not Japanese and it certainly was not delicious. My husband ordered Tamagoyaki (sweet egg omelet), Kappamaki (cucumber roll), and the Philly (salmon with cream cheese roll). I ordered the udon, also not Japanese. For starters, the sushi rice is not done correctly. How the rice is prepared really separates the good sushi from bad sushi. It was utterly too vinegary and mushy. Second, the salmon was not fresh. Third, the egg omelet was watery and also missing a necessary ingredient to truly make it Tamagoyaki. Lastly, the soup base of my udon was more of a stock for Chinese wonton. It also had vegetables like bean sprouts and bokchoy that are not common to Japanese udon and which have a distinctive flavor that would alter the soup stock. This vegetable flavor isn't typical for udon which uses soy, bonito (fish), konbu (sea kelp) and sometimes miso (soy bean paste) stocks. I'm all for good fushion food. In fact, I love Japanese fushion rolls like caterpillar roll and crunchy roll. However, when I eat at any Japanese restaurant, I expect a level of authenticity from the food. Eating at Kim Hung's, I only encountered disappointment with each food I tried. None of it was authentically Japanese. I guess I received what I paid for here, since the place is relatively cheap compared to other Japanese restaurants in Frankfurt am Main and vicinity. The authentic restaurants can be found in Frankfurt am Main but it cost 4 to 6 times the price of meals I would get in Japan. The place has a nice ambience and just only that. I didn't mind the service either since they were friendly. However, I can't give anything more than one star because the people here are only banking on the sushi trend in Germany and because there is no other Japanese restaurant in Friedberg to compete with it. A restaurant shouldn't market itself as a Japanese sushi bar if they are not going to make an effort to do it right. Stick to their wok menu if you want to eat some decent Chinese/Vietnamese food.

The décor nice, casual enough for the price. We are on the patio because of the weather and Covid but inside looks really great also. The service was absolutely shocking. Bad, slow, rude so in reality I think management needs to pay attention but the cook's and all area's in the kitchen deserve 2 thumbs up. Will I go back? Maybe. Frankfurt has fabulous restaurants. The person answered the phone sounded very nice over the phone so I decided to make reservation online for the next day, and I was glad I did. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience. The ambiance was fancy, definitely fit for a celebration/anniversary. I felt like we over ordered since we wanted to try many dishes here, but we didn't regret it. All the dishes were delicious. Service was okay. It could be better since it's pretty pricey here. Honestly, we were aware the dining service in Germany is different compared to the US so we didn't expect a top notch service. I would come back if I ever visited Frankfurt again.
