After years of maintenance at this location, I was told I needed a major repair for a motor mount vibration I did not drive in with. I went to another MINI specialist for the fix since it was suspiciously obvious since I had not driven in with a vibration. After the repair at the alternate location I got a full inspection, which showed I was about to need new rear brakes - got them done too. Car was in excellent condition. When I came back to Mini MoCo for my prepaid oil change ($250 for three years) I'm told I have another major repair, one that was already part of the clean bill of health. BEWARE IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER MINI!!!! Unfortunately, I have to express my disappointment with the service I received at MINI of Montgomery County. After my initial visit where I waited ALL day, I had to bring my car back for re-inspection and ended up spending an additional $1,300 on repairs that were not identified during the first appointment. Among those repairs was a "critical" leak that SHOULD have been caught initially per the mini service rep. The attending agent admitted to a lackluster inspection/report at my first visit and that the service reps have different protocols for newer minis. I believe this oversight directly contributed to the need to replace an entire engine mount which is a costly repair that may have been avoided with a more thorough inspection the first time. I also requested that windshield washer fluid be filled during my first visit, which was one of the reasons I returned. Yet, even after the second visit, my vehicle still left without any dispensing washer fluid. Additionally, I had all new tires installed after my first visit which should have been documented in my service records during my second inspection but apparently were not -- something I would expect to be standard procedure. I received text messages about promotional tire offers before a call from a manager to resolve my issues. It took weeks, many phone calls and even an unannounced pop up visit to the location to have my questions answered. Even though I was promised a return phone call. I requested the phone calls be released for proof that they admitted to a faulty inspection/report to which I had to wait AGAIN and reach out to them AGAIN for them to tell me that it's not possible. After visiting another mechanic unrelated to mini, my initial problems were corrected and I found out my service was still completed incorrectly causing me to spend even more. I won't be back and encourage all patrons with older minis to request inspection videos and have second opinions if they believe something is wrong read more

DO NOT VISIT! In early July I visited this location to get a car estimate as I was trying to sell my Mini Cooper. They proceeded to make me wait over an hour. After multiple attempts to get an update they came back and gave me a low ball offer to which I refused. I had previously visited the Sterling location before and I had the car appraised and I was praised for having such a well kept car. Yet this location told me it had many issues and would not pass MD inspection. When I get my car back I notice the hood release latch was broken. Someone at this dealership pulled the handle too hard and the release broke. Dealership refused to own up to mistake and has been unresponsive. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I brought my vehicle in for diagnostic service evaluation. Following the diagnostic service I selected some recommended services but declined others. Following the completion of the repair I got the vehicle home. I discovered that they had damaged my vehicle. The molding on the front windshield was damaged and partially removed (I had just had the front windshield and molding replaced less than 2 weeks prior to taking my vehicle to the Mini dealer). They did not reconnect the O2 sensor and they also broke the connector that secures the harness to the body of the vehicle. The did not reconnect my MFA sensor. They broke pieces off of my valve cover and also did not screw the cover of the valve cover back on. They also did not correctly replace the coils in my vehicle following inspection. On top of those things they also broke the molding on the hood of my vehicle. After speaking with the service manager Brian he stated that all they could do was refund the labor charge for the repair ($300.00). My total cost was close to $1000.000. Many of the issues/concerns that I presented to him he strategically reversed the blame back to the age of my vehicle or refused to repair issues that were obviously caused by his technicians. I now have to locate another place to have the damage that was incurred at Mini of Montgomery repaired. I am beyond disappointed with the service that I received from Mini of Montgomery. Super experience with Josh today! I ordered my Mini 4 door in August and true to his word it arrived in 3 months and it was an awesome experience from day 1! Josh was knowledgeable about the product, made sure I got every think that was important to me (massage seats, JCW package, all the bells and whistles). I recently moved back to DMV area living in Howard County. First took my Mini to Towson but I was not happy with their service and communication. I then started coming to Mini of Moco and have had wonderful experiences. It's an older mini and has always treated me well, explained everything going on and game plan. Brian, Andy and can't think of the young lady in service has always welcomed me a friendly smile. I now will only come to this location for service. I hear other complaining about this, and that, etc that first off these employees did not built the car! They service it and try their best to complete the issue accordingly. You pay more for mechanics that specializes in the brand and not all of the above. Of course will be more but for most part your getting it done right. First of all, our seller Edio Alarcon was amazing. He was very helpful and kept us updated on the process of our purchase; from the customization of the car to the making, and delivery. Unfortunately, dealing with the sales manager, Giles Bibic, was the worst experience I have had when buying a car, and I change my cars every 3 years, so I know how this goes. Mr. Bibic is an arrogant person with no sense of costumer service or building brand-consumer loyalty. I don't like to feel penny pinched and that's how I was left feeling at Mini Montgomery County by the arrogant, cheap, short-sighted Mr. Bibic. Of all of the car brands I have owned, the dealership always gives me the floor mats for free, after all, you the consumer, are spending several thousand $. That is why it is so cringe-worthy and embarrassing to bump into a premium car brand dealership and sales manager that says that they dont' give anything for free because they are a for-profit company. -What?! All the dealerships I have bought from include the mats or something like the first aid package, the protective coat for the seats, but not at penny pinching Mini of Montgomery. You are better off going to another dealership in the DC area. That is the beauty of free market, if a company doesn't evolve and its staff doesn't embody the selling trends and evolution, then they are meant to lose out to other options who did get the memo. It's 2021, it is basic knowledge that sophisticated and evolved sense of brand-consumer relationship and better trained finance staff is a must. Bibic employment at Mini of MoCo is a mistery as he doesn't posses, people's skills, costumer service competency or brand-consumer relationships basic knowledge. My suggestion is to go to Volvo Darcars of Rockville, Paola Mejia and Daniel Kwaw are amazing! Also, another option, is VW from Stohlman in Tysons, Kelvin Irizarry is great. Also, Kevin Flores from Herson's Honda is great. Just go anywhere else, give yourself a nice car buying experience. Save yourself from Giles Bibic, who is better suited for checking your receipt at the Costco exit door than working at a premium car dealership. As for Edio Alarcon, he is a big fish in a small fish tank, hopefully another dealership steals him away from Mini of Montgomery. I hope this thorough and lengthy review was helpful! read more

I've had my 2014 Mini regularly serviced there for the past couple of years, although I had not purchased it there. Their service last week though was amazing! Mini had died in my driveway with an obvious fuel leak, would not run, and reeked of gasoline. I had it towed there after-hours on a Friday night anticipating an expensive repair. Raul called me the next morning, told me they were working on the problem. He called me a couple of hours later and explained that a fuel line had become disconnected from the high pressure fuel pump. They'd reconnected the line, cleaned the gasoline spill from the engine compartment, road tested it, even washed the car, and refused to take any payment saying it was too minor. Wow! Talk about integrity in the auto repair business! This dealership is the best. read more

I've honored my words on my previous review google on this dealer by getting a 2021 Mini JCW GP3. This Mini will be the last that I will ever buy from this dealership ever again. They have costed me more money and wasted of my time. Sure, they kept my new car for 1 week inside and gave me a loaner for 4 days and I returned in three days. The many small problems and a few regular problems kept adding up, and after sales experience which made my give this place a 1-star rating. I would love to see how are they going to rebuttal this. Issue number 1: Back on Feb 28, 2020, I've had both Mini Service and Maintenance to be cancel because I was going to get the GP3. Once I've cancelled both and I would like to have an update on it. They have a different form that is their own other than the company who offered the plans. I've tried to reach the finance manager 4 times by email and 3 times by phone, all I got by phone was he has no way to check if it was cancelled and told me to just it takes 4 to 6 weeks until you see the refund. I send an email to another individual and told that it was cancel and a check has been sent to my lender. This whole time I thought both was cancelled until I traded my car for the GP in 5 months and 4,000 miles later, only maintenance plan was cancelled. Issue number 2: Giving base on my past experience, I had no issues with their decision on $2000 over the sticker for my GP because I like them and had great experience. Boy was I wrong and regret about it due to my current experiences with them I wish I went to their sister store because they did not charge $2000 on pre-order which I have done with Mini of Montgomery Issuw number 3. I have email two people with instruction but they did not follow every single one of them which cause issues here and there. There were issues when inspecting and delivering my BRAND NEW GP3. I don't like it if I discover issues by myself and they totally missed it. Issue number 4 They way under value my trade-in I've asked for more on my trade-in and was rejected because my trade-in targets specific buyers and less than two weeks later it was sold. Issue number 5 When I finish the deal with the GP, an individual had to put freaking hard metal key rings on both my keys instead of the regular soft ones they normally used put on. The individual's reason is that individual doesn't want confusion with other Mini Keys. Who gave that individual the right to put something that is not belong to them? The result of that are both my BRAND NEW ORIGINAL GP3 KEYs are scratched. If it was just a regular Mini, fine, BUT IT IS NOT SO IT CAN NOT SIMPLE BE REPLACED!! Issue number 6 I understand they want to help but they need to listen to their customers when someone WAS TOLD NOT TO HELP. I had screw cover caps which only I know how to take it off by hand. One individual wants to help me and I politely responded "No thank you" and that individual still tries to by using a metal Flat head screw driver to attend to takes one of the caps off, I told that individual STOP but it was too late. He had damaged the cap and the paint on the license plate. Issue number 7 Even they knew issues that I've discovered by myself, nothing was done to alleviate the issues but just to ignore until it goes away. I seriously doubt they ever follow all of my instructions on the email of how to handling of MY GP3. Giving how they handled my BRAND NEW GP3, don't ask if you want this on, communicate between different teams, and have to been told twice not to assist. I lost the confidence on them and I don't trust the people who will handle my GP3 for servicing and/or maintenance. What is even worst is the $2000 over stick, undervalue of my trade-in, and canceling experience has become a really bad taste in my mouth. Because of that, I've cancelled my GP3's service, maintenance, and road hazard plan on before the 30 days and I've asked the finance manager who handled it if he can let me know if it is cancelled and he told me same thing preciously. read more

I had my car serviced here for the last 2 days. I went to pick up my car and turned on to the highway and the small light on the drivers side of my car just flew off. I told the service cashier Danny and he said they did not do it. And Danny even argued with me about how they didn't do it but will fix it. I went to speak with the service manager TJ and he told me they didn't do it but will fix it . And he told me there was nothing else for them to do and asked me to leave. I went outside to call my mom about it and the service manager that sits in the office next to Danny came outside and asked me did I have a problem with him and walked towards me. I felt threatened. I did not feel safe. I asked him to back away else I would call the police. When the manager went back to his desk, I could see him laughing. He didn't care that my light got broke while it was at his dealership. It was a joke. I now have to take another day off from work to come back to this dealer for them to fix a light they so called didn't break. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever received. I am so disappointed and rethinking my MiNI experience. I have always had a nissan and after bard work i decided im getting my countryman mini. I searched online made a plan and went ti test drive had a great trade in with value already appraised. The salesman was pretty nice offered test drive and we discussed numbers as his manager checked and rest drove our other car the challenger. After numbers and warranty was discussed we got a good offer for vehicle and said we would like to accept offer in car and pay this balance off today do you accept electric funds transfer or wire? Salesman says no we do not only accept personal checks with credit check and cashiers check. Since it was later in the evening and we had already been there for a few hours we decide to get extra childcare for the next day for the morning to take off work of a friday and get a cashiers check from a reputable bank where we have several accounts. After texting the salesman throughout the day confirming we have an evening slot around 5 we go along our day until we are able to get to Gaithersburg which is a good drive in dmv post covid shutdown traffic. My husband arrives around 520 and views car points out some things they said they would have taken care and was advised paperwork while they fix the issues. My husband hands over title to challenger and gets insurance on the new countryman. After a pretty lengthy phone call we sre thinking we are all set. Again we are told the banks are closed its too late to verify the check. Now i was under the assumption that this is something you let the client know before a second trip to get a vehicle they want. They then tell him we will verify in the morning and call you. Im already upset but still very patient and ask my husband to have check in hand and he left his title to his car and drove off the lot in a challenger that was uninsured and made it back home. We get a call next morning after calling the bank and asking how to get a cashiers check verfied the dealership calls and says our check didnt verify which is a lie because we were on the line with suntrust and have done these transactions before without any issue. The issue is the treatment Lack of communication And now what seems to be a lie We call back to get title mailed back to us since we wont be wasting another trio back to Gaithersburg and had to request the title be sent a way that can be tracked. I loved the car and had the money was offered financing options several times like just pay it off the first bill. Then let us just run your credit to make sure conversations. Im confused if i work hard for my money and you offer me money for a car i have and we work out a deal if i have the funds for it why is it like we are going through stress of making sure you get your money. The manager then says over the phone after stating the cashiers check doesnt exist that we can do a electronic funds transfer just re deposit the check and when the money clears their account we will deliver the car. I literally yelled out loud behind my husband we offered that on thursday and have gone through all of this here it is saturday morning i still have to hear new options now. What bank is open on sundays? What parent has all of this childcare on weekends to do all of this running around? So make sure you have more than just time and money and great polite demeanor when visiting this dealership. Greatest bday present ever. Update just spoke with gm Matt Nowww he verified the check and they would deliver the car with little to no empathy nor change in tone. As the consumer and working in customer service your accusatory tone and anger or defensive mode was laughable. I found a vehicle that I wanted at Mini of Montgomery on CarGurus. I had to make sure that I really wanted to pursue a purchase because I live in Upstate NY (350+ miles away). I worked with Rod to make sure everything was in place prior to driving down to check the vehicle. He was extremely helpful and streamlined the process for an out-of-State purchase over the telephone and via e-mail. Rod made what was sure to be a difficult and confusing process much easier to navigate. Lastly, my 2016 Countryman is a great find and was well worth the trip. I'm the kind of person who, when reading on-line reviews about anything, throws out all 1-star and 5-star reviews because I try to avoid hyperbole; which is why I'm giving 4-stars instead of 5. (Service Department Only) Danny has been very helpful every time I've stopped by the service department. I purchased my Mini from a different dealership but I don't want to drive all the way to VA for my maintenance so I make all my appointments at this location. My Mini is still fairly new and still under warranty so I don't pay anything out of pocket (yet). Each time I have stopped by, Danny has treated me like a paying customer and I've left highly satisfied after each visit. Oil changes do take a while here. Both times I've waited close to an hour and a half but they have a small waiting area where they offer free coffee, water, bagels, and donuts. Last time I was there I decided to purchase puddle lights from their gifts and parts shop. I was very pleased to see they offer a lot more things than their website. If you are looking to spruce up your Mini, definitely check in the store before you order anything online. They will also install them for you for a small fee. read more

5 days to complete a repair which in light of Covid should be forgiven except that 2 of those 5 days were spent waiting for someone to look at it. Just give me an appointment 2 days later instead of holding my car hostage. No one seemed to think this was a valid concern so it must be routine. I'm also suspicious of the need for an oil change because the oil level was really low. I've been faithfully bringing my car to Quality Discount Tires in Kensington and they have never mentioned an oil leak. They recommended a mini specialist since they were unsure of the exact problem. Next time they recommend this I will find an independent repair place. And the canned response says nothing of the lack of the ability to respect a scheduled appointment. read more

After having my new car, my husband called Sirius Satellite Radio and they advised him that my free subscription was up in June of 2015. Since my sticker on the window said "Satellite Radio w/1 year subscription, I knew they were mistaken, so I called and emailed my sales associate Jennifer B. When I received her response, I was shocked to hear The 1 year Satellite radio is initially issued with the vehicle, so in your case the 1 year subscription has expired." My response was that as a courtesy and to stand by their sticker, they should honor what the sticker said. They refused. Not so much as a call either, all through email. No, "I'm sorry Ms. Clark let me see what we can do" or lets try to work this out, nothing. It was basically, my tough luck. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VALUE OF A CUSTOMER EVER. My salesman, Chris Manley, was very patient as I decided between a previous loaner car or new, then between the normal cooper and the clubman (even though my heart was already set on the clubman) and was very respectful on my time as I had to be in DC that evening and traffic on a Friday is never light.
