He proceeded to take quite a bit of time on the phone giving me advice on how to go about troubleshooting or attempting to fix an issue and giving me general advice that seemed super honest. THIS is the sort of business I can get behind. This is what will make me call here when I need something. It feels like a business that actually cares about synths and their customers.

My instructor was Daniel Corral, he was an absolute gem :) he was very patient with me, I have no music experience at all and was fortunate that I was the only student in this class. Daniel gave me a 30 min lesson every week with music sheets and things to work on for the week. I felt really nervous about taking this class since I'm an old lady but he made me feel very comfortable. I can't say I'm amazing now but I understand and feel comfortable learning the ukulele because of Daniel. I highly recommend this studio and I'm sure all the instructors are great!

Due to Covid, we've had class oudoors, indoors and on Zoom and it works just fine either way. Although in-person class is my favorite. Genna, our amazing teacher, is a professional musician who plays all over LA. She's friendly and encouraging. Class size is small so there is personal attention. My confidence in my playing is noticeably improved. Now i can pick up a guitar and I'm not totally embarrassed to play in a store or in front of others (thanks to my classmates). My chord transitions are smoother and my rhythm is better. Plus I've learned how to create a solo rift which I didn't even think was possible as a beginner. We play different songs and new skills each session so it doesn't get boring. The people in the class are kind and everyone is in the same boat so don't think you'll be the worst one. We share our bits of knowledge and cheer each other on. So glad I joined and I'm looking forward to continuing my lessons. If you're a shy player or need some structure to practice more, sign up. Jared was recommended to us by another family with children who have been taking guitar lessons for years. They told us that he was, by far, the best teacher their children had ever had. My experience with him has been great. His ability to connect with both of my children during their first lesson made everyone happy. He is wise enough to realize that kids are more likely to practice and play when they are learning songs that they like. So he lets them choose their own songs. When my almost 11 year old daughter tells him what she wants to play (and he has no idea what the song is--Taylor Swift is not in his normal play list, I think :) ) she plays it for him on her iPod -and in under 5 minutes he is playing the song perfectly (humbling to us!) and able to write it out for my daughter to learn. He has been reliable, affordable compared with our other musical lessons and other guitar teachers we initially considered, and flexible with us and our crazy schedules. Cannot recommend him highly enough, but 5 starts is all they have.

We've been taking our 21 month old daughter to Minibop classes for 9 months now and she is thriving, musically! She understands the concept of rhythm and notes on a scale, sings and plays her little guitar non-stop around the house, and adores her teacher Morgan. Themes change monthly, teachers are super professional, talented and enthusiastic, and they truly make each kid feel seen and included. 10/10. Minibop is fire. Our son loves getting into the beat and dancing around. The teachers are all so awesome! The holiday program was super lit. Camelot rents out for parties on weekends, and from what I understand, the base fee is pretty reasonable, and you can add on from a whole menu of entertainment options. We went for a 5th birthday and it was a pretty ideal venue, with tons of space, all of it outdoors. There was a covered area with tables for food and drink and cake time, as well as a huge playground with lots of equipment. I tend to judge kid party venues by how little I have to watch my own kid, and this one was top tier, safe and confined. Well, except for the train ride, which felt kind of wild, but was also my son's favorite part of the party. I guess Camelot works with a company that brings a mini-train for parties, and the kids went nuts for it. I stood in the parking lot watching that train loop around for a full hour, swerving and doing donuts to make the children giggle and scream and occasionally break out in tears. My son rode it something like ten times. He spent the rest of the time running around the playground, with brief, emotional interludes for cake and piñata (he was absolutely terrible at picking up piñata candy, just the slowest little guy, with my genes imprisoning his whole body). We stayed for three hours, and he did not want to leave. I don't know how Camelot Kids is as a pre-school (though if you have any appetite for gossip, you will not be sorry to read this: https://www.jezebel.com/the-story-and-nightmare-emails-behind-one-elite-silver-1741632103), but we were happy to visit for an afternoon. If you're looking to host a party for small children, it's definitely worth checking out.
