Long story short: I was given a citation for driving at 52MPH in a 35MPH. I hired Mr. O'Bryan to…read morerepresent me. I am not satisfied with the level of representation that he provided. Below are reasons as to why: a. Contacting this attorney: good luck. b. Level of representation: I informed Mr. O'Bryan that the posted speed limit for that tract of roadway is 45MPH - NOT 35MPH (which is the speed that the officer had written on the ticket). c. While Mr. O'Bryan did have my citation changed from 52MPH to 49MPH in a 35MPH, it still does NOT change the fact that THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT WAS 45MPH. Realistically speaking, I was going 4 miles over the speed limit - NOT 14. d. Earlier this year (in May, if I remember correctly) I received a letter from the NC DMV stating that my license was being suspended for FAILURE TO APPEAR. It turns out that Mr. O'Bryan had forgotten to appear in court for one of my continuances - and I received a letter from the State (which caused a high level of stress). With everything said and done, I have now received notification from my insurance provider (USAA) that my rate is due to increase due to the citation on my record. Mr. O'Bryan did not represent me well. AT THE VERY LEAST, HE COULD HAVE USED A PRAYER FOR JUDGMENT.

    H. Jay White is a incompetent lawyer. As well as Dutch Enwhistle. These two will take your money…read moreand ghost you. They were unable to lower a speeding ticket on my brothers first offense (unheard of), and Dutch will no longer respond to emails regarding matters I've encountered even though I have him on retainer. This law firm is outdated and I would not refer my worst enemy here, as everybody deserves fair representation.

We contacted Hartsell & Williams seeking legal counsel after a cross country move where the movers…read moredid extension damage to many pieces of furniture and appliances. When we called, we were told there would a retainer fee of $175.00 which was good for a 30 consultation. I paid the $175 over the phone and was told we would be receiving call. We got the call and spoke with Austin "Dutch" Entwistle. He was what seemed to a hurry and was very vague when we asked questions. He was quick to ask for $800 for a retainer fee but did not answer a lot of our questions clearly. We felt like we should discuss retaining them and check our options first and when we told Dutch that he quickly ended the call. The entire call was 7 minutes long. Unable to get things worked out ourselves we decided it was best to call to ask two simple questions and was told by Michelle, Dutch's assistant, we would need to pay another $175 to speak with Dutch. I asked why since we paid for 30 minutes and only got to speak with Dutch for 7 minutes. She said she would check and call us back. Two days later she had not so I called them, and she said he would not speak with us unless we paid the $175 plus $800 for a retainer. I told her no and to please ask him to just answer two simple questions and he refused to answer them. She sent me an email telling me to find another attorney. I certainly will be doing so. I also spoke with my credit card company and was told I should dispute the charge since complete services were not rendered. Nowhere was I told verbally or in writing the $175 I paid was only for one call no matter how long it was. I was told it was for 30 minutes, so what about the other 23 minutes? Based on other reviews it seems this a pattern for this company so please do your research before retaining this firm so you will not be a victim of their scams!
