Well since the oil leak wasn't fixed it was just getting worse , had family members trying to help nothing was going good , then we were told about a fantastic place called Minitek and a super cool guy named JESSE and I would have to say the first honest mechanic I have ever met ! And all the other guys there were just really super friendly and nice ! And it seems my mini likes Jesse a lot too ! So will go nowhere else for my car ! First and foremost their mechanics and front office staff are always warm and welcoming. That's a major part of the charm of this family run business. Jesse is a very trustworthy and honorable mechanic. I love that Minitek has a women's touch as well with Evelyn and her daughters always providing a friendly conversation when your vehicle is ready (which makes it welcoming place for my wife and sister to go to as well). They have a mechanic Fernando there as well that specializes in Hyundais and he goes above and beyond to explain issues and layout possible solutions. I want to start by saying I've never written a one-star review before. I've been coming to Minitek for over 5 years, and I experienced the 5-star rating you see. Unfortunately, in the last few years, the quality of their work and customer service has declined tremendously. I can only assume they're under new ownership because it feels like night and day. I got my brake pads changed 4 months ago. Ever since, my breaks sound 'rusty' - like something is clashing with the break. When I brought it back so they could see why, he dismissed me and said that brakes don't make noise. After the test drive, he simply said, I didn't hear anything. So now I have weird-sounding breaks caused by poor mechanical work. Then, my car was leaking oil so they 'fixed' it. After 2 months, my car is still leaking oil. He said the oil that was dripping was 'residue' from the last time he fixed it, but the car sensor says the oil is low again. So he blames the sensor. When I explained that it couldn't be the sensor because it read when the oil was full AND empty - he said: "These cars don't burn oil but maybe your car is." That makes no sense at all. I will never bring my car here again. Their prices are not competitive anymore. I don't trust their work. Good luck trying to get them to actually fix your car. read more

After MINI of Universal City wouldn't even look at my car for 3 to 4 days despite having an appointment, I called Minitek to help me with my driver side window, which was out of adjustment. During these rains it was particularly important, as I had water seep in. Chris picked up the phone and told me to come a few hours later. I was 15 minutes early, he immediately came out, looked at the car, got his tools out and started working. After 15 minutes he was done, the window was adjusted and sealed again, and he didn't even charge me for it! Even though the general consensus was that the regulator will need replacement sometime down the road (a $700 repair) he didn't recommend it until the window would make trouble again. I had a wonderful experience, and will only take my Mini to them from here on now. read more

Was referred this place through a friend who said that this was an honest and well priced mechanic and I am happy to say that from my experience they truly are. My car (Hyundai) was having an issue and I had brought it to two other shops before this and they made it seem like there was nothing they could do since I wasn't able to replicate issue while I was there but this shop suggested I leave it for a couple days since I was still unable to replicate the issue while I was there and they really took time to figure it out and through test driving it and more time with the car they were able to diagnose and fix the problem for me.
