Radio K is also my favorite station because of how diverse their music is. They play everything from local artists to old school hip hop to experimental. And they're never pretentious, and seem always approachable (on the phone). I haven't interacted with them over the air or IRL ever because of COVID, but I look forward to seeing if they start up ticket giveaways or events again in the near future. Licensing is a big outlet of exposure for musicians and so is the payout. Everyone wants to get something placed. Years ago Jon told me to invest $1000 to get their "services". It was a dead end. It's been several years and nothing has been "placed" by Tinderbox. My advice is to stay away! There are lots of vultures in the music industry and sadly TM is one of them.
