I called Jeff at ToneTron Amps and he fixed it right up for less than the price of a new subwoofer. He did it quickly (about a week because he had to order some parts) and kept me apprised of the situation the whole way. He also explained exactly what was wrong and showed me the blown parts that he had fixed. Now my speakers work good as new and I didn't have to throw a subwoofer into a landfill. Ben is himself an incredible guitarist with wide and deep knowledge on a huge number of genres and styles. I have yet to ask a question that he can't answer in is usual thoughtful, clear, and complete way. In the last year, I've gone from knowing absolutely no music theory to being able to competently read and discuss chord construction, progressions, and more -- my theory knowledge is beyond even my wife's, a violist of two decades. My skills have improved immeasurably, too. Once trapped only playing power chords, my barre chords are second-nature and I've even mastered seventh and ninth chords. Every time I want to try something harder, Ben knows just the right way to get me there. Musical knowledge isn't enough if it can't be explained, however, and Ben is really good at breaking complex and confusing topics down into something easy to understand. He doesn't believe in just memorizing fingerings or shapes -- he helps you learn why something works the way it does. Nothing feels rote, and mastering something feels earned.
