I spent in excess of $10k on dental work in that time, and mostly saw Dr. Jones. I had a dental "emergency" this morning, and since I had been established with them and they repaired the now split tooth last, I called and they could get me in that day! I told the scheduler my dental insurance, and she asked me to call back with the member ID, but did state that if I couldn't get it, that they could look it up with my SSN. I called back a short time later with my insurance info, and no issues were brought up. I even paid a small bill I had from the past (that I didn't remember) as well as the cost of the appointment and xray (for a total of over $200) just to get this appointment. So I get to the treatment planning part, I'm told I need a crown by the dentist. "Finance" comes in and says it will be $2k for a crown and core because Excellence no longer takes my insurance... She offered for me to pay the total out of pocket, and then my dental insurance "may" reimburse me, as Excellence is "out of network" for them. They knew my insurance at 8:47 am, still had me come in and then let me get through my whole appointment without telling me my insurance would cover nothing. Then, Ms. "Finance" had the nerve to smirk and smile multiple times with no empathy when I explained that I could not afford that much out of pocket, and I was at a loss as I have a partially half-broken front tooth, that is still partially attached, and was afraid to eat for fear of losing the whole tooth. Long story short, the dentists' and other staff seem like good people and do decent work, but there is nothing they do that another, kinder office couldn't. This is NOT the dentist practice for you if you don't have large amounts of expendable cash on hand AND want to not be treated like "the poor".

I was so nervous to have to get a new dentist after my dentist retired. I tried two other places in town and they were the worst experiences I've ever had. I really didn't know what to expect when I came to this office but my son-in-law recommended this place, and I'm so grateful that he did! They truly understand, are kind and helpful and they have up to date equipment that makes everything quick, efficient and as pain free as possible. Upon arriving, the office seems very clean and fun for the kids BUT.. Looks can be deceiving. One of my children was bitten in the waiting room by another child, one of the dentists broke a retainer in my child's mouth had to order a new one and I was told by her there'd be no charge due to her own mistake, but my insurance was still charged. Upon questioning the charge, the office manager was quite rude and treated me disrespectfully (what a way to represent your office) The work done on each of my 3 children was always very expensive and our out of pocket expense seemed much higher than expected. My children all complained the amount of analgesia used did nothing for their pain during procedures and in return they always feared going back because of this. I feel as if there are times that charges to my insurance were questionable but due to the rude office manager I decided to not question anything. All in all I give this office a 1 star rating because of the price of procedures compared to other pediatric dental offices (I checked around after), the attitude of the office manager, the aggressive children you may have to deal with, and the lack of attempts to make sure the children are as comfortable as possible during procedures. Please be selective in choosing the right office for your children, just because this office is the only one in the area does not mean it's the best. I was even told by my family dentist after my issues that they have had several other patients complain about this office and that they have had many requests to change the referral to another Pediatric office.

Despite her not taking our insurance anymore we were going to be paying out of pocket for XRays, an Extraction, AND Nitrous oxide which would total up to more than $600 in cash. This was no problem for us despite the large amount because we strongly believe in paying for good care. While on the phone the office manager Carol began laughing at my disabled children being sick and barred us from the practice we've been going to for YEARS. This is in the midst of my daughter is having a dental emergency. Why were we barred? We were 15 minutes late due to our disbaled children having a virus, us visitng a Doctor first, and trying to reschedule to ensure the safety of everyone else. Carol's behavior on the phone was nothing short of disturbing and disgusting and I will be filing a complaint with multiple agencies as a result. Edited to add: Carol was laughing about this over the phone before attempting to tell us what she *believes* Dr. Sophie would say. And finally, the crown Dr. Sophie installed failed by cracking in half while my daughter ate a slim jim. This is the only cause of the dental emergency; failed dental work.

The staff is pleasant and I like that dr Reynolds explains what's going on to the child and the parent in a way that is easy to understand. Dr. Reynolds isn't the most patient dentist when it comes to children with special needs, though. My middle son has sensory issues and the dentist seems annoyed with him most of the time. Unfortunately for my son and I, he has poor dental health due to struggles with toothbrushing and a dairy allergy that makes calcium a bit tricky. So, we're here often. I haven't been on Medicaid for awhile now so we could go elsewhere, but overall it's not enough of a problem to make me want to leave. My kids enjoy the gifts that are offered each time we come. Even though they're simply dollar store toys, the kids love choosing from the toy box.

He can be very direct, but I see it as he just truly cares about the child's oral hygiene.
