I was totally taken for my money and bamboozled by the so-called Loctician - Tiffany, the only female hairstylist there. I saw her Loc maintenance retwist on a co-worker which were done nicely so I asked for a referral. I did a consultation with her where she saw my hair in person and stated that she could do my Loc Extensions from my short starter Locs (she even stated that she did her hair which was beautifully done evenly ratio Loc parting to extension blended into loc extension; it was on point and evenly colored which was lightened to a blonde... That gave me confidence that she'd be able to do my hair that way as well as I asked and shown pictures if how I. Wanted my hair and color to be dyed and done)
.... Now after the fact, just a day later, looking at my hair and how she installed it and lightened it (over-processing it 4different times&ways even resulting to using box color instead of professional products) I can truly say by the look, feel and techniques she used, no way she could've done her own hair herself -someone else MUST have because mine was totally done wrong and ABSURD to the point it looks like I had had them in for months (matted in most areas and thinning on others) without any type of retouch up nor service done to maintain them ... People who have looked at my hair with their own personal dreads and those who don't even know anything about Locs say they look very worn out even to the point of "unkept homeless looking").
By being a licensed cosmetologist myself and knowing how to and have done starter locs for other people, I however am not an expect in loc extensions but have done my research and watch several YouTube videos on how they're supposed to be started with crochet method or two strand twist method never seen a threading method using the opposite color of the hair that you have so that when you lighten it or change colors it will change the colors with it from with the video say you supposed to use the same color thread as the hair that you're using to color which makes sense and is quite obvious which I explained to her during the process) Nevertheless, the basic principles weren't followed and I never received the desired look I wanted not even close to it!! Tiffany wasn't even willing to work with me unless I paid additional $$$ to try to repair or achieve some type of style which I had already paid for and never received. I requested and try to negotiate at least a partial refund to me for money back for compensation of serviced not done to completion and satisfactory (I paid for retwist and style never got it; she left my hair untwisted looking like "bed-hair" snd over processing it changing the integrity of not only my roots but the human hair loc extensions as well!! I NEVER achieved the desired color after all of that, as well as I see and it has brought to my attention by the weigh each Loc Extension looks and feels that She used hair from someone else's head that had been cut off, versus making each Loc extension which I paid $10 each totally about $640 which should have been from human hair specially made for me (after all was for, I could tell, see and feel the difference in the integrity of the hair in my hair as I was left with scars from the over processing in my scalp as well as unevenness and loc ratio to proportion of the Extensions, which some were thin and could/would eventually break off, while others were too thick and spaces and extra tentacles from it instead of being one straight even gth uneven blended together- some were 7,8,10in long looking very messy, uneven, unacceptable)When showing her pictures as she told me if I was unsatisfied with anything to let her know and she would assist me,after going back a second time late that night for her to retwist with Spritz? it was never done the first time before I left she was so frustrated about the color not processing right she did not complete services....I diligently communicated with her after the fact via text message to try to reconcile amongst ourselves but she was unwilling and disrespectful I have no other alternative but to take her to small claims court to recoup the money I lost about $1,000 on services not done to completion or to my specification as she stated she could and would do. Now I have to go to a professional Loctation who is focused more on the integrity and healthiness of the permanent Locs to have them removed and attach new loc extensions which is going to be costly as well as treatment for my own hair so that it doesn't fall out and continue to break off. This is a very frustrating and horrible experience for which I've never experienced a Hairstylist be so unprofessional and careless. I will never go to her again nor will I ever refer her to anyone for Loc Extensions nor color!! she doesn't know what she's doing and she cares more about making money then providing outstanding customer service & her Client happiness and putting the hair in risk for damages!!! read more
