I went to Mirage Salon and Spa for wedding services. I had a really great experience and was SO happy with my makeup; my hair stylist and makeup artist made me look absolutely beautiful. I went with all my bridesmaids and they had a really great system to get us all done within two hours, and we got to have a fun relaxing experience. I really recommend Mirage. The one con was for wedding and bridesmaid services, we had to put a 50% deposit down, which is not always easy on my end. I had to front the money and my bridesmaids weren't exactly the best with paying me back so I paid for some people's stuff, which when you're planning a wedding isn't an expense I wanted to take on. Slightly my fault for not confronting my bridesmaids, but again, when you're handling a lot that day, it's the last thing you want to do is say "Um can you give me 80 for your hair and makeup you owe me?" I was upfront with my bridesmaid with prices and paying me, but actually getting the money, or when they changed their mind and did a service that was more, I had to take on that extra expense. So it would be nice if there was a better system where the individual is actually being responsible for paying and not having it fall on the bride. I understand why they do it but it just makes logistics complicated on one person. read more

Since leaving Texas it's been difficult to find a quality and welcoming salon in Nebraska in my experience. Also, due to the fact that I now live in a rural area, it's difficult to schedule an appointment and get to it, as they are all quite a ways away from where I live. We had some other appointments in Norfolk and I wanted to get a chemical peel facial and a haircut for myself and my husband and did some searching last minute. Thanks to the reviews for this place I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did! I don't normally write reviews, however it was such a pleasant and inviting experience that I felt I should in order to help other people who might be searching for a good place as well. Claire was my aesthetician and was very pleasant and congenial. Even though the procedure was a little uncomfortable she made an effort to ensure I was as comfortable as possible through the process and overall it was a very relaxing and positive experience. Claire was our hair stylists and she did an excellent job and was very friendly as well, despite having an obvious injury to her foot, and this was after being on it all day! You can tell these ladies enjoy their jobs and care about their customers! The salon was also clean and I would say reasonably and competitively priced for their services- and I would consider this a high end full service beaut spa and salon. Also the gentleman in the phone who booked us last minute was also pleasant and professional. I had the absolute worst experience here, and unfortunately I made a day of it. I was excited to use their med spa services here because they have nurses who do the applications and the nurse who did it was rough and didn't listen to my concerns about my sensitive skin, and there is nothing worse than not being able to show your face for weeks! After a haircut I could have done without, I skipped a pedicure because the foot bowl looked like it hadn't been cleaned. The worst part of being there was listening to them talk bad about other customers and wondering what they were going to say about me. read more
