This hip ramen restaurant was a welcome meal on a cold Stockholm day! Coming from the SF Bay Area,…read morewe get a fair amount of quality fresh ramen. Our relatives recommended this spot during our holiday visit, and the ramen here hit the mark. I had the Red Hot ramen, which was rich and flavorful, with layers of flavor, tender and meaty pork belly, and a perfectly jammy shoyu marinated egg. Lots of flavor, and not too hot for my spice-loving palate. They use thin straight style ramen noodles here, which tasted fresh and had perfect spring. Our local relatives opted for their favorite, the Stockholm Shoyu - which also looked excellent. This spot is small and cozy, and they were able to seat us quickly even though they seemed quite popular for lunch.

I highly recommend not ordering the spicy miso because it was expensive and inedible. Instead of chashu, there was ground meat. I only ate a few bites and the reason why I took more than one bite was because I was curious and wanted to understand which part of the dish tasted bad. I figure out that the flavor was coming from the noodles. The spice came from a numbing pepper that I did not like. Spicy miso is usually my go-to when I order ramen but the flavor was not what I was expecting. When I normally order spicy miso, the broth is like tonkatsu with a spicy miso paste. At Ai Ramen, they serve hardly any broth and the broth they do serve does not taste good.

I always go for "extra meat", but will probably switch to "extra egg" next time. Visitors should note Raamen is part of a food court setup so it's not a restaurant per se.

There are a few different ones to choose from and while it is not exactly clear which base it is in all Ramen I opted for the fully loaded. It was served fast and first impression was that it looked nice and nice scent. The fully loaded had nice and juicy pork as well as some pretty decent noodles. I actually felt they were a bit cheap with the noodles, could have been more in it. The noodle base had a lot of flavor and was nice and full. I was missing an egg in it but apparently I missed that it is something one has to order as an extra, anyway one of the better ramen bowls I had in Stockholm. I still rank Blue Light Yokohama a notch above but there they rotate the ramen so the best ones are not always available so I will most likely be back here to investigate the rest of the menu. Well worth to try and will probably go some evening to have it with some beer as well.

The shrimp gyoza had meh filling in a baked crust. The filling sauce was good once I added togarashi shichimi to kick it up. But it overpowered the gyoza even before augmentation. The ramen looked amazing. The greens on top were fine. Broth was thin and lacked conviction.the huge slices of chicken tasted boiled except for the skin with some spice crust--it was the tastiest thing in the bowl. 2 big prawns--no flavor. 3 mussels (1 did not open) no flavor. Bamboo shoot shavings had flavor--yay! Onsen egg--great texture! No flavor. Everything tasted like it came from a low sodium no spice dietary meal from the hospital. Epic fail in my books. Yet, customers lined up eagerly to dine here. I do not get it. I was so excited to come here and the reviews heightened my anticipation... but I left dejected

My Warm Chilli Salad with Tofu was excellent and my husband enjoyed his curry dish. The service was prompt and friendly. The only thing I would have changed is turning off the techno remakes of old American music (eg Paul Simon's "Going to Graceland") and having something more pleasant to listen to instead. All in all, Wagamama was a welcome respite from a long day of travel and rainy weather!
